Is that $200 one way or RT?

AT has a $99 flight down for our date, but it's at 1:30 or something like that. If it was a morning flight I'd probably grab it right about now. Even though they charge a baggage fee now. I need to see how much that is. . .

YAY for a possible November Disney trip JO!!! :wizard::cool1::banana::woohoo:

Well, don't get too excited.:lmao:

I'd say that I am the party pooper in this circumstance. I don't want to spend the money to go down there-- and only go to WDW for three days --- and it be crowded.

Because crowded it will be.

I am not being nice, I know.

His whole motivation for the trip is to get to the game-- which I would totally love to see--- but I'm not willing to give up Disney time and risk not going in May for our trip.

ANd being with all 100 members of his side of the family would be fun..... but I'd be forgoing WDW time to do it.

Staying at home sounds better to me.:rotfl:

I'm hateful that way.

Jo

Hi Shelly!

What in tarnation could a music teacher have done to tick off your son???

:lmao:

She must be old and crotchety.:rotfl2:

Jo

I'm not sure exactly. Apparently the 5th & 6th graders have a different music teacher than the younger grades in his building. So when his new music teacher came in and said something like - I am Mr. J and you are probably used to Mrs. B, and I am not nice like her. . . And I guess he wasn't kidding. Then he gave them seats and said - this is your seat for the entire year. DS is used to all the teachers switching their seats every month or so. So I don't know. . . It sounds like the guy was just trying to be a real hard @$$ to a bunch of 10 year olds. . .

Shelly- that would be $200 rt.

What are flights like going down LATE on Thursday for you instead of Fri? It would be a long day, and You could get a value r/o for one night----? Just might be cheaper to do-- you could be at Disney when you wake up- and it may be chaper.

Crunch the #'s to see.

We would be arriving on a Saturday as of now. I am open to arriving late Friday night to get a better deal, but there aren't even any good flights then. :confused3

Good morning!!! :goodvibes

I hope that school goes well for all the little MAYers. :snooty:

Jo - That is awesome!!!! I hope that you guys get to go!

Sea - I'll be thinking of your friend. I hope everything turns out alright.

So - I am officially a Hawaii junkie :goodvibes But, I started having second thoughts yesterday because I talked to my dad and asked him if I was being irresponsible because we just bought the house.... and he was like 'Well, I think it sounds OK. I mean, you guys usually spend about that much on vacation every year. But, don't be telling me that you're going to Disney next year too. Then I think you're being ridiculous"

:rolleyes1 Well, we are going to Disney next year....

I know that it seems frivolous to have two huge vacations in one year - especially since we are just starting out. But, who knows when we will start having babies... I want to do this stuff as much as I can before that. Because I know that it will be a few years after we have them that we can do much.

So, Bob and I decided that we are going to do everything in our power to make this trip happen. I am so excited! As long as our friends don't back out - we are going!!! :yay:

So, everyone who has been to Maui - I will be asking about a million questions between now and then :flower3:

You definitely DO NOT want to take a child on that long behind flight to Maui. I'm going to go ahead and warn you-- it's miserable.

Go ahead and ask away- I've only been twice- but will answer any ?'s I can.

Jo

Y'all can laugh if ya want to----- I really and truly talk like that!!!:lmao:

I say "Long behind" when describing something often.
I Never use the donkey word with an 'R' in it.:lmao:

Jo

I sweat that is all I do!

:lmao:

OK...

This should have said "I SWEAR that is all I do," but sweat or swear could be used interchangably in this case.

NC~did you win? :)

Yes we did!

They even said over the loud speaker once, "And on the tackle, #56, Chris Elkins."

And I did this...

Well, this morning DD9 was having a harder time at home than at school. She was just really stressed before we left. Once we started walking, she was fine. When we got there, I had her take DD7 to her area (even though DD7 didn't need help, of course). On her way back from doing that, her new friend found her and then DD9 waved me off. I waited for a few minutes (inconspicuously~next to the porta-potty :lmao:) in the parking lot, and watched her go in to the building with no problems.

I love this new friend of hers for making my morning easier! I'm hoping she really likes DD and isn't just with her because she was asked to help her out, you know? I guess we'll know more about that soon. They seem to have a lot in common. I asked DD9 if her friend introduced her to her other friends, or if it seemed like she would rather play with her other friends, but DD9 was pretty confident the she and her friend were going to be best friends. Wouldn't that be wonderful? :cloud9:

As I was walking away, DD7 was right in line for her classroom, just like she was supposed to be. That's my girl. :dance3:

So glad things went well.

Good Morning.:surfweb:

Glad all the MAYer babies are where they're supposed to be this AM.

I had such good intentions of going for a walk this morning.

Mark intervened. And then the rain came down.

But what's really got me is......

Mark comes waltzing into the room from his morning jog at 6 am and with a grin on his face like the cat that just ate the canary, and says-- all proud- like and in a booming voice, (since he must've thought I couldn't hear so early in the morning)....

"ALLEGIANT AIRLINES JUST ANNOUNCED SERVICE FROM HERE TO ORLANDO. SEE WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR THANKSGIVING WEEK- WE'LL GO THE GAME ON SATURDAY, THEN TO DISNEY OR UNIVERSAL- WHICHEVER ONE-- FOR THREE DAYS, AND THEN ON TO GRANDMA'S HOUSE FOR THANKSGIVING DAY."

:scared1:

What is it with him and last minute requests??????????????:confused:
Doesn't he understand my panic when faced with them?????:rotfl:

After talking him down with my announcement that it would be at the very least least a $3000 trip -IF we could even get a time share this late--- he relented and was crushed and went off to work with his head down, briefcase held just a bit lower.

He really wants to do it- I want to do it. We have the money in savings. But I am trying so hard to be responsible.:lmao:

The flights are right at $200 pp --- he thought we might could get a $29 fare like we did for LA.

Poor baby.

He hasn't given up yet, though, I don't think. He says that those flights always come down as the time gets closer.

So... we may or may not be in Florida in November after all.

:santa:

Jo

Sounds exciting!

It truly is a "long behind" trip to HI!

Going there not so bad, but coming home...

OK...

This should have said "I SWEAR that is all I do," but sweat or swear could be used interchangably in this case.

 I caught that yesterday but didn't want to be the one to say anything!! I didn't really think that you were sweaty all the time! :rotfl:

At the games I do SWEAT!!! It was so stinking hot yesterday. The game was at 5:30 and it was 91 and of course there wasn't a lick of shade on the bleachers.

And I am sweaty now...

:confused3

So maybe that statement was just meant to be...

So, this morning, one of friends talks me into going walking with her at beautiful Two Rivers Park. It is located where the Maumelle and Arkansas Rivers Merge. She walks here all the time and just loves it!

arkriver.jpg

So we start out and we are walking and talking. Having a great time, when I stop dead in my tracks. There is a tiny baby copperhead snake on the path. So, we oh so carefully walk around him and keep walking.

As we get near the end of our loop, and are walking on the banks of the Maumelle River, I see one of these...

Water+Mocassin.JPG

And I grabbed my friend by the arm and sling her around from the right side of me to my left side, away from the snake. I couldn't even scream. :scared1: The snake just stared at us a moment then slithered off into the river.

We freaked out! I am still freaked out.

Needless, to say, we are not walking on that trail tomorrow!

Holy Poisonous snakes Batman, you could've died!!!

That's a freakin water moccasin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:

So...my baby girl turns 5 three weeks today. I figured I'd better start planning her birthday. Family and a few friends still turns into 22 people.
She decided that she wants a cupcake party, which sounds fairly easy.
I'm just trying to decide whether to order a big tearaway cupcake cake. Or to make the cupcakes myself. Then I discovered you can get a big cake mold in the shape of a cupcake, and suddenly its become far more difficult than I imagined. :rotfl:
