Jo - I can't wait to see pics of Hawaii.....

Well last night i had a fun filled night... (not) my Stepson was playing baseball with some friends and he went to catch the ball and jumped up when he came down he landed on 1 foot and it snapped.... so we were in the ER all night and come to find out he needs surgery.... he tore a ligament and broke a bone so he will have metal plates and screws put in..... So that is where i was this morning....and his surgery is scheduled for 5pm so i probably won't be back on tonight....

Just wanted to pop in and say to my MAYER family and say that i'm sorry for being MIA....

Welcome back JO! Can't wait to hear all about your trip.

Glad to hear from you Mari. I was thinking about you just this morning and wondering where you had been. Hope all goes well with your step-son's surgery. Poor guy!

I'm looking forward to finding out your November plans Sea! Hopefully you and I and Sulley can all meet up together! And as Sulley said - and anyone else we can convince to come along! :grouphug:

I love that song :cloud9: It makes me so happy.

Well, in about 2 hours I will *hopefully* be holding my new keys.

Hello MAYers!

Glad the surgery went well Mari.

Hope everything is being finalized as I type this RF!! :wizard:

Well I have already painted one bedroom at the new house this morning. We have a professional painter coming to do the kitchen, dining room, living room, stairwell, hall, and hall bath. But I am doing the bedrooms and the master bath to save some money (so I can go back to Disney this year ;)). Normally we would paint the entire house ourselves, but we are pressed for time plus we have some vaulted ceilings that we have no way of reaching in the new house. The painter was 2 hours late when I left to bring the kids home for lunch. He better be working away now!!!

Anyone heard from Lake??? Maybe she hasn't gotten internet service at the new house yet. . . That's the first thing I ordered up for the new house as soon as I got home from the closing yesterday! I have to be able to talk with my MAYers everyday!

Good morning Mayers.

Shelly - Congratulations on completing the transaction on your new home. I bet you thought this day would never come - but I bet it is all worth it! I love vaulted ceilings! We have 17 foot high ceilings that we just love!

RF - Did you get the keys yet???

Mari - Thank you for your kind words. We missed you here! Glad to hear that the surgery went well.

Trix - Hello!

I wonder if Jo is still in dreamland...Sea

Good morning Mayers.

Thanks Sea! :goodvibes Ask me again in about 2 weeks if it was all worth it!!

This is our first house with vaulted ceilings. I'm not sure how high it is, but it sure is pretty. I can't wait to show you guys the before and after pics! :yay:

Wow I just realized it is July!

I can't believe the kids have been out of school for nearly a month already. Only 2 more months of summer break. :sad2: I feel like their summer break has been taken over by this move. They haven't gotten to do anything fun. Hopefully I can make it up to them with a nice little trip this fall. . . . :rolleyes1

Hi guys,

Sorry I have been out of the loop. It has been a crazy time here. My dog Jake was diagnosed with Lymphoma in Aug. of 08. He died last week. We had to put him down he was not walking anymore. We did chemo for him which kept him with us for 9 great months. This is what kept us from Disney. Chemo cost us 15,000. Which was a big chunk of change. My hubby and I have decided to take a trip again this coming May. We want to do a cruise too.

I have missed you all and I am hoping to get back in the swing of things. I am still very sad missing my Jakey Boy who was only 6. I still have Henry and I am trying to keep him busy. But it is hard and the girls are dealing with it. But were devasted last week, crying themselves to sleep. It has been hard.

How is everyone? What is everyone up to??

Hi Huggie,

Good to see you again. So sorry to hear about the loss of your dog. I am glad that you were able to care for him and had that extra time. I am sure you have some wonderful memories.

As for me, my mother passed last Monday after being diagnosed with cancer 30 days earlier. It happened so fast. I miss her greatly, but I know that she is at peace and is not suffering anymore. We are having a celebration of her life next Saturday, so I am busy helping my dad with the arrangements.

Where are going on your cruise? We are making plans for one in November.

Sea

Afternoon MAYers!

Huggie- so ggood to hear form you- it's been a very long time-- glad you're back with us. Sorry about your doggie. They have a way of tugging at your heart. Hope everything else is going well with you.

Shelly- I can't wait to see the pics! I love vaulted ceilings as well. They make the house look so dramatic and elegant.:thumbsup2

RF- hope the closing went well. Crack open some Champipple girl!:lmao:

Lake- are you buried in boxes up there? Should we send out search and rescue???

Sea- I hope you are doing okay. God and I had long conversations about you and your family while I was in Maui. I think for some reason He heard me better b/c it was so pretty and peaceful there. You can't be in surroundings like that and not want to talk to Him.:) Anyway- I hope you are fairing as well as possible given the circumstances.
I am glad you're going to WDW in Nov. You need a vacation. And as far as your forgetfulness--- ( Happy Anniversary, BTW-) --it is always expected when someone goes thru a tragedy. You will find yourself very forgetful for about a year, and then your brain starts working again. Any nurse will tell you so. Don't beat yourself up. It happens.

Hi to Trixie and Sulley!!!!!!!!!!!!

NC-- hope your DC trip is fun. Sounds like it will be.

Mari-- hope your DSS is doing better. Yikes, what an awful thing to happen.

So I slept last night for 12 hours and I feel soemone pushing me, so I open one eye and it's Mark with a cup of coffee for me. I could've slept another 6 hours.

Been to the pool all afternoon with the kids.
belle has taught herself to swim!~!!!!!

yay for her.

I'll talk more later about the trip. It was fabulous--- ziplining-------ummmm..... Sea- of course, you know i have a story to tell about that. Wait til you hear it.:rolleyes1

TTYL- bbq with the IL's tonight.
Jo

Wow it's like old times in here - Sulley, Mari, and Huggie all checking in! :cool1:

I'm so sorry about your dog Huggie. I wondered where you had been. I thought about calling you (I still have your # from when we met up last MAY), but thought maybe you just needed a break from the DIS!

Let's see. . . what did you miss? JO went to Disney in October. Mari and I went in January. NC went in March. RF went in MAY! Did I miss anyone??? And of course our favorite CM Sulley is still down there working away - she is even training new CM's now!

I don't think you have met Trixie. I met her on the January planning thread and we met up at Disney in January - actually we ran into each other several times! So after the trip I invited here over here to the MAYers!

Lake just moved into a new house. RF is moving this weekend. I am moving next weekend. The 3 of us are having a MAYer meet in Pittsburgh in August!

As for future trips. . . Well we were all planning a 2010 MAYer meet in MAY, but I think that has pretty much fell through. After going in January my family has no interest in going when it is 90 degrees again! So we were planning another January trip but then I got a free dining PIN for this fall, so now we are tentatively planning a November trip. Sea may be going in November as well. Lake is thinking about January (although I think she should go in Nov!), Mari is planning for May, not sure about JO or NC. . .

How are the girls? I bet they are getting big!

I got both of the boys rooms painted!! :woohoo: When I left this afternoon the painters had almost finished their first coat in all the rooms they are doing!

So that leaves me with the master bedroom and the master bath, and all the closets in the bedrooms.

Hopefully we can get everything done before they come to do the carpet/floors on Monday. :wizard:

Ok, just got off the phone with my dad and we are definitely going be in Florida in November. The cruise will be the 14th - 21st. We are planning to go to WDW and hopefully see the Space Shuttle launch before the cruise.

BTW, I still want to come in May 2010. I know I will need another fix. LOL!

Huggie, it is so good to see you! I am so sorry about your Jake. I know you guys must be heartbroken! Your poor girls, things like this are just so hard on kids.
