RF - YAY.... incase you can't check in....have a good moving day.....

Hey sea... how are you doing this fine day??? i'm at my mothers taking care of my nephew and little brother.... they go to sports camp but since it rained here today they let them out early.....

I'm so jealous you are going to WDW In November... my May trip is still up in the air depending on how college goes and money...we'll see....

I am OK. Glad the holiday weekend is almost here. Ditching the office tomorrow. Not going to even attempt to visit DLR this weekend...it will be insanity down there. I have heard that DL is at capacity the last few days.

No plans to see any fireworks. Heck, I see them all the time now and nobody does it better than Disney. I know, I am a spoiled brat.

Taking it easy this weekend. Hit a couple of restaurants, read, do some writing, graphic design and finish up on the slide show tribute to my mom.

How about you? What are your plans?

hi everyone... boy did I miss you all.:grouphug:
Just finally got my internet access hooked up at the new house.

We love it here and everything went well. A tad bit hot for moving, but happy its over. Lots to still unpack but the majority is done. When I have some time I'll go back and read the last week of everything I missed.

Celebrated canada Day yesterday by going to the fireworks here inb our new town... great way to meet neighbours and get to know the area, the kids had a great time and the rain held off.

Thanks so much for all the well wishes and support.

Wishing Shelly and RF an happy move too!!! :)

Today's the day! I couldn't sleep I was so excited. :dance3:

I guess I'll see you all on monday - who knows when we'll be getting internet and cable at the new house. :upsidedow

Everyone have a safe and happy 4th of July. :goodvibes

Sea- hope you have a relaxing weekend- and enjoy your day off of work.:goodvibes
I know what you mean about the fireworks- I always have to bite my tongue when my Mom starts talking about how wonderful the fireworks in Charleston are over the bridge for the fourth of July-- yes they are beautiful, but Tinkerbell isn't jumping out of the castle on her death string (that's what we call it, LOL) and I can't see the lasers on the castle, so, while they may be beautiful, I'd rather watch Mark and my FIL light them and run.:rotfl:

RF- hope your move goes smoothly and you love living in your new house! :wizard:

Well, we were going to go to the beach today but decided that the beach always sounds more fun than it actually is... yes we ARE from the coast, LOL-can't you tell- so we're going back to the pool instead. It's better- we don't have to make the drive with sandy toes and , um, nether regions.:rotfl2:

I think I will take the kids sometime next week one afternoon and go crabbing. We love doing that.:)

Hope everyone has a good day.:goodvibes

Here's hoping you have a peaceful 4th of July!

I am taking the kids to DC. My son has been begging all year. He wants to go to every museum. Impossible. But I do think we will get a lot done.

Have any of you been to DC lately? It has been about 16 years for me.

I was in DC last year!!!!! Loved it!!!!!
Stayed in a great hotel right on Pennsylvavia Ave... could walk to everything.

Happy fourth of July to my MAYer friends...

Have a fun and safe day!!!!!:goodvibes

We spent over $200 on fireworks.... one of them cost $80 in and of itself, LOL. So if you see a faint glow coming from down South.... yeah, the JoBird's *might* have set something on fire.

:lmao:

So when we last visited the DL TR, we were all waiting with bated breath in this line for the unknown ride.

I know you all got tired of waiting in this line, it was sooooooo long, and no one had snacks or anything.

So we waited a bit--

probably a total of 10 minutes...

inching closer to our destintation....

You guys were right! Space Mountain time!!!

The entrance was really cool- much different than the one in WDW. It was mostly outside- and just a short walk inside.

The ride itself was so very different. You sat next to one another, rather than front to back. The song playing was a song that I had heard before on one of my DL CD's I bought. The tracks are smooth, not bumpy or jerky at all.

HOWEVER.....:flower3:
The nostalgic me prefers the old ride.

We only rode this once during the trip.

Afterwards, we went outside and Marky bought me Minnie Mouse ears.
And then we walked around a bit more.

Happy Independence Day!

Wow Jo, I thought we were going to be stuck in the Space Mountain line forever! LOL! How did your ride picture turn out?

80$ for one firework? What in the world does it do? How long does it last? You must take a video or picture of this.

BTW, we registered to attend the MJ memorial service at Staples Center. We wanted to see how good our chances were to get tickets. LOL! If we win, I don't think we will go...there are reports of people flying in from all over the world just to be here to "experience" it all. The police expect over 700,000 people to show up, but they are telling people to stay home and away from the Staples Center. It is crazy madness.

sad news from wdw!

Monorail crash kills employee at Disney World

ORLANDO, Fla. - Emergency officials said Sunday two monorail trains crashed in the Magic Kingdom section of Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla., killing one train's operator.

Bo Jones, deputy chief for Reedy Creek Fire Department, said one train operator died at the scene of the crash, which happened around 2 a.m. Sunday. The other train operator was not injured, but was taken to a hospital because he was emotionally shaken. Five park guests were treated at the scene.

Jones said it was unclear what caused the crash. Orange County Sheriff's officials are investigating the cause.

Jones said the crash happened at the park's ticket and transportation centre. About a dozen guards wearing blue Disney security uniforms guarded the monorail station Sunday morning and prevented visitors from approaching the area.

Ethan Meus, who was visiting the theme park from Dubuque, Iowa, said he and his family took the monorail to dinner at a resort hotel Saturday night. Meus, 17, watched the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the monorail on the way back to his hotel, he said, and didn't notice any problems with the train.

"It's pretty shocking to hear that a driver was killed in that accident," Meus said.

The family was planning to take the train again Sunday to visit Disney's Epcot Center, but now planned to take a bus, Meus added.

"You would think it would be so safe," said 20-year-old Lauren Shoebottom, who was visiting the park from London. "You don't expect it on holiday, do you?"

Walt Disney World vic-president of public affairs Mike Griffin issued a statement offering condolences to the employee's family and saying the monorail was closed.

"It's a bit shocking," said 22-year-old Danielle Williams, of London. "Disney seems so perfect."

Hope all the MAYers had a wonderful 4th of July weekend!

We of course worked our butts off all weekend. We did get a nice little break last night when our new neighbors had us over for dinner. It was nice to get to know them and be able to relax for a few hours!

The painting is done!! :woohoo:The carpet and flooring comes tomorrow!

How did the move go RF?

Thanks for the DL update JO!

We didn't make it to any fireworks. We told the boys we would take a break from the house and take them to see some, but they weren't really interested. :confused3 I guess they are spoiled like Sea! Once you see the Disney fireworks all others fail to compare! :rotfl:
