Mornin-

Hope everyone's enjoying hteir summer vacation.

I'm feeling a bit guilty- sitting in bed, cup of coffee, gonna work on the TR a bit, kids sleeping. Poor Marky has to go to work. That's sad.

Got to get down to the business of packing...
Charleston and Hawaii coming right up.

But first.... Disneyland TR.

Off to work on it.

Be back as soon as I can get it together.

Jo

Morning Everyone.
I'm off to get my hair cut. I have neglected my thick curly hair for far too long. I always know when I need it cut, it starts to hang funny, and the only thing that looks good is a pony tail. Time to put some bounce back in it, and feel good for the summer. I wanna look good for the new neighbours...:rotfl2:

Emmy has her last gymnastics class till september too today... so a busy agenda here.

Did anyone else watch So You Think you can dance last night... some great dancers this year!!!! :)

Disneyland, continued....

Fantasyland!

As soon as we walked on the pathway to Fantasyland, we could tell we had run into the crowds. It didn't look the same. It didn't feel the same.
I looked at Mark and said "Pick a ride. Any ride, first ride we get to. Just get on one."

And so without further ado, our first Disneyland ride....
Pinocchio's Daring Journey! Quite fitting, since we are on somewhat of a journey ourselves into unknown territory. Hopefully Pinocchio has a better idea of what he's doing than we do...

DSC03486.jpg

Outside the ride-- cute detail- and hey look- it's Jo's image in the glass! :)
DSC03488.jpg

The ride was very very cute. I liked it a lot. We walked right on it, no lines. I wish WDW had this one, the kids would enjoy it. Might be a bit frightening with the whale, but not terribly so.
In the end, all turned out well for Pinocchio. He became a real boy and immediately asked what's for dinner.:upsidedow

Next we saw Snow White and got in that line. Actually we sort of walked on.
Saw the apple outside the ride...
DSC03489.jpg

And inside the door-- a warning... Oh I do hope Snow White is careful!
DSC03492.jpg

Snow White is very similar to the one in WDW. Snow White was saved by her Prince Charming and all was well.
Whew.

We were able to continue without Mark saving the day for the damsel in distress which was a wonderful relief to him.

Walked along again some more. After the Daring Journey and the poison apple shenanigans, we were ready to just be spectators again for a minute.

Came upon the Matterhorn, no lines but being unsure of what it entailed and it being so early yet and Marky having a weak stomach... we bypassed it and saved it for later.
DSC03495.jpg

Got in line instead for a ride I'd not heard of but it looked pretty safe...
Storybookland.

DSC03493.jpg

DSC03497.jpg

We stood in line for ten minutes without moving. Something wasn't right. I think an errant dragon or some such nonsense had blown storybookland to Kingdomcome or something.

So we got out of that line
DSC03498.jpg

and walked more.

Small WOrld in the distance-

DSC03500.jpg

HISTA, of which, we are NOT fans...
DSC03501.jpg

Here's where we felt like we were wandering around, not doing much.
Jo's background with TGM was starting to creep into her head and she started wishing she'd not just walked around all morning taking pictures for Shelly. :rolleyes1
Hi Shelly!:rotfl::rotfl2:

And so with that, we walked here, to this queue, and got in line--
Wanna guess which ride this is? I'm sure you can figure it out.;)

Up next--
The unknown ride....

NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK!!!!!

Haaaaay! What up 80's!!!

Whew, I feel better. :lmao:

Great report Jo. It'll be even better when I can finally see the pictures. :thumbsup2

Stupid PNC and their stupid blocks on their internet.

Sorry about the loss of your friend Sea.

NKOTB - RF!! :cool1: I loved them in the 80's!!

JO - I am loving your DL TR and I really do appreciate all the pictures! ;) :goodvibes Can't wait to see what the mystery ride is!! :yay: Oohhh is it SM???

Hi Mayers - Got some sad news today - a friend of mine passed away early this morning. He was battling stomach cancer for about a year. He leaves behind a wife and son who is about 12 years old. They were apart of our small homeschool/church coop the last two years. Richard was tremendous giver, he served daily at the Union Rescue Mission on skidrow in downtown LA. Please remember his wife, Maria and his son Duke during this difficult time. Thanks!- Sea

So sorry you lost your friend. I know he will be dearly missed!

Jo - My guess is same as Shelly's Space Mountain!

RF - OMG, I cannot imagine seeing NKOTB. They WERE kids in the 80s. I just cannot even imagine it. I am sure it is no different that wondering if KC of KC & the Sunshine Band might have a heart attack during his concert.

Sea - I missed your post. I'm so sorry about your loss. I'll pray for them and for you that your family pulls through this tough time.

Oh yea...major fun lies ahead for Jo and Mark!

DSC03504.jpg

BTW, did you see the Star Wars X-Wing fighter in the window over the Stararcade?

Afternoon peeps!:goodvibes

Sea- nope- didn't see that thing-a-ma-bob fighter thing-y you speak of. No Star wars junkies in this family- we'd not know what we were looking at if we did see it.:lmao:
As for the secret bathroom... is that the one that is a one stall down that courtyard going out of Frontierland? If that's it then yep- I was lovin the cleanliness of it.:goodvibes

Lake - how's your hair, sunshine??

Mari- how was Princess Marissa's b-day?

RF- oh my word. NKOTB. :lmao: They were getting big during my Guns n Roses days, so I couldn't tell you one thing about them, since Slash wasn't part of the group.:rotfl:

So my Medical Mystery son has stumped yet 2 more in the medical field.
He's got two more blisters so I took him to his regular dr's office where he say the nurse practitioner. She had not a clue so she got the Ped. and he stood there with his hand on his chin, with a very perplexed look on his face.

They don't know what to make of it, and are treating it as if it were some type of staph infx. so they are tx him with some oral abx and topical ones as well.

Def. not chix pox.

Off to rest. I'm so tired!

Jo

Short and Super Curly. ( The humidity is in full force today with all the rain)
Much shorter than I intended on going (new hairdresser), but it's "growing" on me...
My hair grows pretty quickly though so it will be okay. It forces me to do something other than a pony tail for sure.

In a week I'll either be loving it or cursing it!!!! The kids seem to like it... Ethan said it's neat and springy( meaning like coil springs, not the season.) We'll see what Jason thinks later tonight when he gets home.

I hope you find out what Drew has. Is he in pain at all. Poor guy. Broke bones, blisters... keeping mom on her toes.

NKOTB...lol It's so funny to know they are touring again. I think I was in the 10th or 11th grade when they were first out. They were right around the same time as those Milli Vanilli imposters... heehee

2 weeks left of school and two weeks and one day till we get the keys to the new house!!! :) Time is just flying now.

Now if only these boxes would pack themselves.
I need a little mary Poppins magic... ( and SNAP..the jobs a game)
A little Spoonful of sugar...

or maybe even some woodland creatures, and birds who use their wings and tails to help with chores like Snow White and Cinderella are so lucky to have.....:cloud9:

If I find them... I'll get their card and send it your way Shelly and RF..:rotfl:

Tomorrow Emmy has the kindergarten concert and picnic.... I hope the rain stops.:goodvibes

See, I thought I was Cinderella. We have more birds in our yard than anyone in the neighborhood. There are nests in every scrub, tree, and gutter spout. Squirrels galore! I thought they were here because they knew it was MY house.

Well, we just found out, our lawn is infested with spittle bugs and the birds LOVE them!

So, I'm really not Cinderella after all!

:sad1:

Hey all....

RF - Thanks....

Sea - your friends family will be in my prayers.

Sorry I've been busy... Did i tell you guys that Marissa choose KFC as her bday lunch.. for dinner we went over to my mothers.... Nothing huge since she is having her bday party on Saturday.... Another funny story I took her to Toys R us to pick out her bday present... I told her she can pick anything out in the store so i take her to the girls section and i don't know how this little girl did it but she found a racetrack and that is what she decided on. I'm telling you I have a tomboy over here....

So today i get up early clean up the house and get ready to leave since i have more stuff to buy and I had an appt at 3 to get Marissa her haircut... so i finally got everything i needed to make the goody bags and stuff like that... so now i'm about to start making them i had to wait until marissa was asleep so i'm off to do that and also i have to make labels for the bubbles i bought for the kids.... I'm off to have fun... yeah right....

Good night my Mayers....

Oooooh to have your curly hair, Lake.:lovestruc Even just a smidge of a bounce. Mine is limp and lifeless and yuck. I want curls. When i was little I wanted curls so bad that my mom would do hundreds of itty bitty corn rows in my hair three times a week and I'd sleep in them, wake up and have curly, (sort of in a bad way) hair. When Mark and I first started dating, he came into my mom's house and first of all said "OMG it's like a shrine to Jodi in here" b/c there's hundreds of pics of me everywhere, lol, then the next thing he said was-- "What's wrong with your hair in most of these pictures?":rotfl:
I want Shirley Temple curls-- just like you have. My hair will not hold them. I went and got a spiral perm in the 80's JUST as it was coming out-- took them 6!!!!! hours --- just to roll it--- ( i have a lot of hair) and it was gorgeous, just what I wanted--- and the next day I woke, showered, and the curl was gone. Poof, gone. Straight as a board. I cried.:rotfl2:

Good luck that the rain will stop for Emmy.:wizard::cloud9: Hope it's a fun day for you guys. And the boxes will get packed. It will come along. So much fun you are getting ready to have!
I can't believe 3 of the MAYers are moving this year!:woohoo: Where were all you guys last year at this time when I needed a moving Buddy? Oooh- like Toy Story! "A moving buddy- if you don't have one, GET one."

:rotfl:

See, I thought I was Cinderella. We have more birds in our yard than anyone in the neighborhood. There are nests in every scrub, tree, and gutter spout. Squirrels galore! I thought they were here because they knew it was MY house.

What in the heck is a spittle bug? Does it havve something to do with spit????:rotfl2:

Good night my Mayers....

Mari---:lmao: Drew chose KFC for his B'day supper. Must be a MAYer kid thing.:confused3
And if Marissa is anything like my Belle... yep, I understand it. As soon as Belle found out when she was tiny that there was such a thing as matchbox cars and her bro. had some, she stole them all, hid them under her bed, and has since ammassed about 600 cars all together. She still plays with them and gets some every Christmas to add to her collection. She's a funny one.

Okay so today I have to do some of this...:laundy:
and then some packing...
and that's about it.

Drew is doing okay- he's got more blisters. If he keeps getting them after today, after having been on the abx for 24 hrs, I'll have to take him to my dermatologist. She's very good - I probably should have gone to her forst thing anyway.

I'll work on the TR now and throw a load of laundry in.

I'm not even 1/4 of the way thru my pics for the TR. I told ya I'd take more than 4 pics!:rotfl:
We still have Cali Adventure coming up, as well as that night at DL, and the next day out and about in LA-
another day in DL and Cali adventure
and then Laguna Beach.

I better get a move on...
this TR is detailed-- b/c I don't want you guys to miss anything.:wizard:

Jo

Morning :surfweb: I'm sleepy.

NKOTB was rockin out until the wee hours. :) And somebody wasn't smart enough to request off work.

What's everyone have planned for the weekend?

We're going to Kennywood tomorrow. :goodvibes It was unplanned. Bob's uncle always likes us to go with him and his kids. We have a pretty sweet deal. We drive and he pays.

Hmmm, maybe that's why I like it there so much.... I usually don't have to pay the big entrance fee.

Then Sunday we're going to start packing. :scared:

Morning!

I just returned from Emmy's concert at school it was wonderful. I had a tear in my eye she did great and I was so proud. I took lots of video for her daddy.

The sun is shining, it's a beautiful day. It seems a shame to stay in and pack.
So since it's supposed to rain tomorrow, I think Emmy and I may go out for a walk, and maybe downtown to see the airplanes in the Red Bull Air Races. They are scheduled to practice.

Shelly and RF..

Idelewild and SoakCity..any thoughts or comments for me.
Someone said it's great for young kids like mins.

Hello MAYers!

Wow sounds like everyone is busy and has lots going on.

We have been dealing with short sale "issues" most of the week. What a huge pain!! At this point we are still not 100% certain that this is going to happen. So I'm sure you can see why I am so hesitant to pack. Yet if it does happen I really need to be packed. Oh my!!

The good news is that the appraisals and inspections are all done. Still waiting on some of the results/figures, but those shouldn't be a problem. Hopefully! :wizard:

Can't wait for your DCA report JO! I'm sure I would love that park since I love DHS so much! :goodvibes

We went to Idlewild once, years ago. It was very neat! It is definitely geared for small children. DS10 was probably about 3 when we went and he had a blast. I'm not so sure there would be much for him there now at age 10. So your 4 year old would probably love it, not sure about your 7 year old. Just depends on what he likes I guess. My DS7 would probably like it, but my older one at age 7 would have thought it was lame. Just different personalities I guess! :rotfl:

It is probably a good hour and 15 minutes to get there from Pittsburgh.
