The Story of Cinco de Mayo

On this day in 1862, the Hellman's Mayonnaise Company, seeking liberty from Kraft Foods, sued Kraft for ownership malpractice (earlier that year, a customer found a rusty nail in their tub of mayonnaise, and the corporate greed of Kraft was to blame). The legal battle endured for hours - attorneys argued relentlessly and the Hellman's plaintiff refused to eat his Kraft sandwich for lunch. Finally, after a grueling day of feuding, the court decided to liberate Hellman's from Kraft ownership. The judge, Justice Horacio Carlos Iglesias, happened to be Latino, and dubbed the case "Cinco de Mayo (mayo short for mayonnaise)," which happened to fall on the fifth of May. To this day, this story has been so lost to history that Americans are foolish enough to believe that "Cinco de Mayo" is the anniversary of the Battle of Pueblo.

shelly- any developments on your house?????? why wouldn't thosed people want both lots??? And how would you even go about splitting that? What a headache.

Just taking the kids to the bus...but I'll be right back... I have a feeling today is going to be a very long day for me!

Okay so here is what happened last night.

The gentleman arrived, and it turns out he is the agent for a couple who came for the open house on sunday. So I gave him the tour and walked around with him answering any questions he had. Then he wanted to call his client so I left him in the dining room to give him some privacy to do that.
I would say he was here for about 20 minutes. On his way out he said that he and his clients would like to come back on thursday at 7pm. We have one other house to look at ( and he tells me the neighbourhood...which in my opinion isn't great, he also says it won't be anything like yours though with a smile on his face..) I said no problem, and I looked forward to seeing them again later this week. Done!!!!

About a half hour later my agent called to ask how it went and I told him that they had scheduled another appointmnet, and he said...we'll that's a good sign, and he said he would call me again today.

Within 15 minutes of that call my agent calls again, and says...the want to cancel thursdays appointment. I say with disappointment..oh,no. I ask if they want to reschedule. And he says no... what they want is to write up an offer!!!!!!!!


What!!!!!!

So now my stomach is in knots...and I don't want to get excited until I see the piece of paper..and see what the offer is!!!!!! But seriously..this is hard...it's the closest we have ever come!


I need a diversion today to get my mind off of it all.

The client was at work..and sent the agent over, because he obviously has to see the house he's making the offer on.
And apparently he's been working with them for 2 months..and this isthe most excited they have ever been on a house.
I hope we get the offer today, my agent said tomorrow when he called last night.
We have a certain number we want...so if the come close to it. We'll be happy, we have already reduced the price from the original asking price.

So as soon as I know more I'll let all you know.
I'm am trying to keep my feet on the ground...it's just so hard. I really want this to work out for us. I want to be excited, but I know I shouldn't get excited until we know it's actually happening.

I'm back!

I listenend to my Ipod thingy that I inherited from MCat-- she downloaded all my wdw songs that I have accumulated thru various means. It's pretty neat to be walking to Wishes! and the Epcot opening loop from 1983!!!!

But I tell ya--- the hills in this neighborhood are killers.

I'm having lunch with Mark and then off to the school for last minute stuff-- opening night is tomorrow!!!! Drew is so excited.

Jo - do you have Disneyland's 50th Anniversary Fireworks Spectacular on your iPOD? Seriously..... It is my FAVORITE THING ever! They have Julie Andrews narrating and they do a mix of wishes, walt disney's opening ceremony speech, the railroad, the monorail and a ton of sound clips from the rides and movies. I love it sooooo much! I listen to it almost everyday at work!
