Afternoon Snowbirds! Wow it's slow in here this week. . . What's everybody up to ???

We just got back from DS10's ortho exam/evaluation. He did very well considering that he has been freaking out ever since he found out he needed braces.

DH and I decided last night that we are just going to pack up the kids and take a little road trip this coming weekend!! This is so unlike us. We never do anything spur of the moment like this. We always plan and save and then go. We haven't told the kids yet.

We are going to our second favorite vacation spot. Anyone care to guess where??? I'll give you a hint. . . It may not be the "Happiest Place on Earth", but it is the "Sweetest Place on Earth"!

Hey My MAYers....

I see you have been a chatty bunch. I have to go back and read all those pages and see what you guys have been up too.

Well as far as my life still complicated. Me and my DH are still working on us. It's a slow process but i told him i'd rather go slow and make sure we are ok then run back to being fine and then more issues arise in the future.

Well guys i am officially a registered College student. I was all day yesterday in the college registering and such. So i start on the 3rd which is great. Finally going to finish my RN. That at least will help me focus on something else.

It looks like i won't be going down to WDW for atleast 3 years. Next year we prob won't go anywhere. Well we are having a family vacation again but this time to Vermont to go skiing. Then in Jan 2011 we are all going on a family cruise. Then hopefully in 2012 I will get back to WDW. Well i'm DEFINETLY going to try before that but we'll see what happens.....

Great news about school Mari! Congrats!

I'm so glad you and your DH are still working on things. You are smart to take your time and do it right.

I hope your cousin has a nice WDW trip. Isn't it funny how clueless people are about Disney? Good thing they had you to help them out a bit!

We just had a pretty lengthy Disney discussion with our dentist today. He is going in December. About a month after us. He is pretty WDW knowledgeable. But nothing like all of us!

I must admit that I looked up (again) how long it would take us, and it was still too long! 10 1/2 hours! That's a little more than the two hour drive time limit

Glad you liked the SV trespassing trip report. LOL! My wife is also glad I didn't go to jail too. She was freaking out a bit as I trekked passed the signs and fences.

I don't think DL or WDW will ever go the way of SV because it is such a national treasure and billions of people have visited parks.

Just getting ready to head out to WalMart shortly. We are about out of bread, milk, and toilet paper. Three very important things!

Yep, our "must have necessities of life" list is: milk, bottled water (we don't trust our local tap water), coffee beans, bread, TP, cat food, and cat litter. If we have those things, we can survive.

It says: "You will be fortunate in everything you put your hands on."

So I called my wife and told her my fortune and suggested we go to bed a little early tonight! We have this running gag we do whenever we get fortune cookies, we add the phrase "in bed" at the end of the fortune and we read it out loud. The results are hilarious at times. This one takes the cake!

Trixie-- I thought Twilight the movie was horrific-- mostly b/c I thought RPattz is GROSS. He looks NOTHING like in my mind. I think Taylor Lautner is adorable and cute with short hair-- I agree the wig is hideous. And yep- I am Team Jacob. I think they would be good together. But you know what? Bella irritates the crap out of me most of the time- I think she's a very immature little brat that needs to be slapped. But that's just me.

Now... when Johnny Depp stars in the movie Dark Shadows... oh my. Captain jack as a Vampire. I can't wait for that.

This is from a few pages back...but I didn't like the Twilight movie because it was so teen-angsty, and Bella annoyed the heck outta me, too. She didn't DO anything, she just sat around and waited for things to happen to her and around her while she blinked her eyes a lot. The books were better. And Johnny Depp as Barnabas Collins? *swoon*

Also, we are thinking about changing the shutters. . . Actually we were wanting to put shutters on the side & back windows since there aren't any, so DH said if we are going to do that then this would be the time to change the color and replace the front ones if we want. . . Any color suggestions? I like the green. The only other colors I am thinking are maybe burgundy or chocolate brown. Any other thoughts?

I vote green -- think it looks great with the creamy colored paint and the brickwork...

WOW it's still dead in here. Where is everyone?

So I pulled out a few suitcases for our weekend excursion and guess what?
THEY SMELL LIKE DISNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As DH and I stood in the driveway tonight staring at the house I told him that JO voted for either green or brown shutters and NC & KB voted green! He just laughed! Anyone else have a vote?!

I vote brown. I love chocolate brown with beige.

Good Morning

Sorry I have been MIA..busy week since returning from the cottage. Unpacking, laundry, groceries, registering for fall gymnastics, soccer, dance and swimming, and of course making up my school supplies lists ect...

Yesterday the kids and I went to their new school, had a tour, received the calendar and even met Emmy's teacher. I could tell Ethan felt better after seeing his classroom and the layout for the school. The first day will go better for all of us now. Mom won't be so worried.
Emmy doesn't start senior kindergarten until sept. 14th, the do a staggered entry for kindergarten. At our school before she went everyday in the morning only. At this school she'll go all day every M, W and alternating Fri. It will be strange to get used to but everyone says we will love it. We'll see. I'll miss her but at the same time still will have lots of time to spend with her. Emmy's teacher is young and energetic and I have a feeling I'll love her. I'll meet Ethan's teacher on the first day I guess.

Tonight I am having over all the girls in our movie group for a little potluck party. We are all excited,and its the first big thing I am hosting at our new house.

Sunday we have more friends coming for dinner.

Monday, I am going to Great Lakes Crossing in Michigan to finish my Back to school shopping, now that my list is made. And of course Target.

Busy few days!!!!
But honestly it keeps me out of trouble.

When I was busy with the packing to move in June I forgot to send the kids books in on library day, completely didn't realise what day of the week it was..Emmy was so mad at me! See...it happens to everyone.
