Shelly- I am very happy to be celebrating that three year anniversary with you and my mayers friends as well.

I wish there was another may trip in the works for us again too!

:flower3:

YAY Lake is here today too!

I know, I told DH the other day that I sure wish we would go to WDW 2 times every year -- MAY and November!! That would be perfect! :cloud9:

Sorry guys, I've been in and out...I'm taking down both of our christmas trees today...easy up...much harder down I'm afraid. ( Sentimentally speaking).

We just had such a terrific holiday, I was sad to have the kids and Jason head off this morning.

Here and very happy to be back. Seriously I wasn't forgetting about any of you the last 3 weeks...it was just a bit chaotic here. Missed you all!

We're happy you're back too. I think we have all been busy with Christmas and New Years. JO has been to SC and back. I have been busy over on my TR. The MAYer thread has been slow to say the least! I'm hoping things pick back up and get back to normal now! :snooty:

Now, where are Sea and NC??? They really should be here for our sentimental MAYer day today!!

Okay- I have to go do laundry-- and I cannot find my plans!! I've searched the house for my WDW notebook--- it's MIA.

Sooo- I will try to locate them during my absence for the next two hours and come back with WDW plans to entertain you guys.

I really wish all the MAYers were going together again. Am I the only MAYer, MAYer this year?????????????????
That's sad.
Oh wait-- no Huggie is a MAYer, MAYer. I think we are missing one another by a day.

Off i go.

Jo

Tasmen and Katie bell need to come say hello too. :surfweb:
We are like the vintage mayers...haha

We had really hoped to be there with you this year Jo...we had it all planned out too. But once again family obligations and plans have sidelined us for a while. My dad's 70th birthday trip at the end of the year, is tugging on our vacation budget, so I think another big DIs trip would be pushing it for us. But you know me... I never stop hoping!

What about the not-so-vintage, not-really-a-MAYer, MAYers? Will they be welcomed back with open arms too? :goodvibes

You obviously know by now that we "vintage mayers" welcome all with open arms to our group. Mayers are Mayers no matter how or when they came into the fold..

Happy New Year Trixie.

and we must never forget SULLEY!!!!!

Who by all accounts we are jealous because she gets to live the mayer life everysingle day at WDW!!!!!!

Thanks! I really am looking forward to 2010. I was looking back at 2009 and the things I got to do and the people I got to know, and it was pretty amazing when I sat back and really thought about it! :goodvibes

Is it too quiet in your house, too? :rolleyes1

Oh yes, Sulley!! I never did get to meet up with her this last trip. Hope everything is going well for her!

I think I am already excited about it.

Today she was playing games on the AG website, (she likes to do that) and all of a sudden she yelled out...Mama...look...she looks like me! And sure enough she had discovered Lanie all on her own, without me even telling her about her. So I guess I was right!

She has really wanted an AG doll, and at 5 I wanted to wait to make sure she was ready for it, and would keep good care of it. But I think the longer I have made her wait has been good for her., We have been talking about it, I am glad I waited. It will be really special treat and responsibility for her that way, and I am sure she will love Lanie., if it is the doll she choses come the time we go. You never know if someone else appeals to her once we are there. She also really likes the little dog named Honey.

Jason and I were thinking of it being a fun birthday trip for her in September, but something tells me, we may not wait that long. hahaha

Oh how exciting!!! You know Chloe and I went when she was in 2nd grade. I think they have opened a new store since then. I think Trix may have been to the new store.

Oh Trixie?

*Seacrest wonders why Lake doesn't get her daughter a doll from the "Canadian Girl Store".*

:lmao:

Okay, Jo is it totally weird that I can answer your questions before you even ask them??!

You're plans look awesome! :goodvibes I don't know where you would get such great ideas for a slow paced relaxing WDW trip. . .

It makes me wish we were going in MAY! Can you believe it has been 3 years that we have all been chatting? Wow, I remember when we were all planning our MAY 2007 trips. Remember how many of us there were?! I remember the days it was hard to keep up with the thread it was so busy. We sure have come a long way. We've had our ups and downs. Times when the thread was busy, times when it was slow. Times when the thread was fun & filled with lots of laughs, times when we were there for each other during hard times. Times when we had MAYer Meets!

Wow look at me getting all sentimental! I guess this time of year makes you reflect on the past year/years. That, and the fact that I have recently found out that someone I thought was my friend really wasn't that good of a friend after-all. So I am really grateful for the good friends in my life.

:grouphug:

:hug:We love you Shelly!

Good morning everyone! :goodvibes Happy New Year!!!

Happy (belated) birthday Jo!!!! :yay: :cheer2: :dance3: :woohoo:

So, I have a question for everyone about how to do window treatments for a really huge window in my living room. I am lost.

I have super '80's blinds in there right now and I am ready for them to go soon! I would say that the window is probably 8' wide and 6' tall. But I need to get some solid measurements. I just want to know if anyone can send me a link to show me HOW to make it look nice with a window that huge.

I was thinking of doing 2 smaller rods and getting 4 panels - but I can't picture whether that will look ghetto or not. LOL.

Post a picture of the window! :goodvibes

We need a project!!!

LOL-- Shelly!!! Great minds think alike and all that.:lmao: I NEED to talk about my vacation.
Haven't really done that with you guys yet.

Okay- so as most of you know---- I was a single mom when I met Mark. Mcat was 8 months old when we started dating. So there has never been a time in our relationship where there wasn't a child involved. That, coupled with Mark's very high pressure job--- we just have found that it is best for our marriage to go on vacations at least once a year as a couple-- it's very important for us.

Last year when we went to DL-- it was only a "sort of" vacation b/c it was coupled with his work and meetings and such. And we did get to go to Hawaii-- and extended it. but still, we were surrounded by work associates- so while it was a wonderful vacation, he still felt like it was work centered. I mean- it's really hard to relax when you've got the higher ups of your company with their eagle eyes watching you. :rotfl2:Sooooo- all of this to say-----
yes, we are going back to WDW. But this vacation is going to be totally different than the others we've taken.

Staying at the POLY, thanks to the fab pin I got--
And I'm totally not going to go commando. Which is a complete shock to my system. We're sleeping in, not doing rope drops--- not going to the parks till late, touring the other resorts, playing at the pool, eating a ton and, well... relaxing.

I'm not sure I can handle the change of pace but I know Mark really needs it. So I get to go where I want-- he gets to relax-- we're both happy. B/c honestly- he didn't bat an eye when I said I wanted to go back to WDW... I think he knew it was coming. And I think secretly he was excited too, although of course he'd never admit it to anyone.:rotfl2:

Places we're eating this trip--
'Ohana*
Artist Point*
Kouzzina breakfast*
Kona breakfast*
Le Cellier
Teppan Edo*
San Angel Inn (of course )
Liberty tree Tavern (another must do--- tradition.)
Jiko*

All of the starred ones are new for us.

So we are really excited!!:goodvibes

Any tips for a relaxing vacation?

I can post days and parks and plans if anyone is interested.

Sounds lovely!

I'm with Mari on this - Kouzzina ? :confused3

I know, I have been trying to keep VERY busy today! If not, I will end up in a puddle of post Christmas Vacation tears! :sad1:

Extremely quiet... I miss my family.
But I am glad I can talk to all of you.

But on the other hand...the Wii is sitting there quietly waiting for me to play it...haha and no kids to interrupt me or BEAT ME at it...hahaha

Well, I hate to bring this up...;) - but it was about 83 and sunny yesterday and today more of the same. In fact, it is suppose to be like this all week long - maybe dropping down into the low 70's by the end of the week.

Welcome to a California winter. :cool1: - Sea

We got home from Carolina late last night and I woke to Birthday snow this morning-- so it's been QUITE the Birthday.:goodvibes
Jo

Snowing here today!! and slippery!
School bus was 20 minutes late. The kids said they didn't want to wait, so I drove them in. Ah...the joys of winter!

Snow, Snow, and more Snow here. :sad2: Good grief!

You enjoyed that post didn't ya Sea!!!!!:rotfl:

You are correct, NC! We were there in November. I'm not super into dolls (never was) but the girls really like theirs. The store was very impressive, but a bit overwhelming to me! I think one-on-one daughter time would work very well there...I had to try to go in two different directions all the time.

I really don't mind the snow right now. It probably wouldn't seem much like Christmas without it. But come Easter when it is STILL snowing, then I will be totally jealous of you and your sunny 80 degree days!!

One on one is awesome!!! And for Chloe and I, it ended up being like a private shopping trip. It snowed 9 inches during the night. I think the store opened super early like 8:00 a.m. as we there just before Christmas. We were staying in the hotel across the street, so we just walked over. We were the only people there for several hours. It was like a dream come true!!!

:cloud9:

We loved it!

We went to Dallas with friends. Very different experience. Wonderful, but different. :thumbsup2
