Morning! :hippie:

Shelly's at DHS right now!!! I bet they are in line for TSM as we speak

Unless they got to be FotD! I hope they did. :wizard:
**********************************************************

So, does anyone want to imaginary vacation plan with me??? :cloud9:

I am thinking that we are going to skip staying with my family at CSR when we go next Oct and we're just going to stay at POP again. Not that I wouldn't love to try CSR (of the mods - I've only been to CBR and POR, Bob has only done POR) but I think that saving the $500 or whatever it would be would be our best bet.

The only thing that I am thinking about is if they offer free dining again next October...(which would be amazing! :wizard:) Either way we would want to upgrade to DxDP again (I know... I know... I just can't stay away.) so we can do more of the shows and Signature dining. And I know that this year they only offered the free QS plan to people staying at a Value resort. So I guess I would have to price out the difference between upgrading to DxDP from QS if we stay at POP and price difference between upgrading from the DDP to DxDP if we stay at CSR.

I guess then we could see if it was much of a difference.

I wish I was born rich instead of beautiful.

I have been slow at work today so, I was running some numbers for our trip.

October 23 – October 31
9 nights/8 days
8 daays park tickets
Park Hopper/No water parks

POP - Free dining/upgrade to DDP -$1,780.96

POP - Free dining/upgrade to DXDP- $2,356.96

POP - No free dining/DDP - $2,272.80

POP - No free dining/DXDP - $2,752.80

CORONADO - Free dining/DDP (INCLUDED) - $2,226.64

CORONADO - Free dining/upgrade DXDP - $2,802.64

So, I ran the numbers of where we were planning on eating and it still looks like doing DxDP is a better savings for us. We only want to eat a few breakfasts, mainly CS lunches - but the 2 TS dinners are what kill us.

Here's what we were planning on

Breakfast

Kona
Tusker House

Lunch

All CS (Casey's, EoS, Flametree, etc...)
except Raglan Road

Dinner

HDDR
Jiko
Yachtsman
Le Cellier
O'hana
Narcoosees
etc...

So - I think we are definitely going to POP again, hoping for free dining :wizard: and upgrading to DxDP.

Whew. Glad that's taken care of.....

Now I just have to wait 11 1/2 more months..... :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Way to go! I can appreciate this kind of work productivity.

I'll be in your shoes (planning shoes that is) in May. I have a feeling the DAY Eliska turns 2, I'll start planning her 3rd year birthday trip. I won't be able to stand it any longer.

To play some pretend trip planning:

We will be staying at the Poly and going concierge. I really like the idea of being on the monorail with a young tot. Plus, concierge will enable us to skip paying for breakfasts and to have snacks/water/soda throughout the day.

What I haven't decided yet is if we are going to go DDP or DxDP. Like you, I love me a good 2 TS dinner. I also love me some wine so we may add the wine addition.

Ugh..even pretend thinking about the trip is setting me aflutter with anticipation.

Hi Tas!

I would kill to stay concierge level at the Poly. :worship: I am hoping to stay there in general some day. :lovestruc

But I guess there's no sense in me stretching an already super tight budget any more than I am. :crowded:

:rotfl:

I know that it's crazy for me to be this excited already :upsidedow - but I am used to going in May :snooty: so it's weird for me to not be 6 months away from a trip right now.

I am bouncing off the walls :hyper:

We don't go as often as some of y'all so when we do go, I splurge. Plus, I have a Disney visa and I take FULL advantage of the 6 months 0% financing option. I work the system as much as I can.

It most certainly is NOT crazy!!! I think any of us would be excited in the pre-planning/planning stages of a vacation. i think the only thing we are NOT crazy about is when the vacation ends. Everything up until that point is gravy!

I heard that Giant Eagle (for those of you who aren't from around here - GE is a grocery store) is offering double fuel perks on their giftcards this week. They have gift cards for Southwest, Jet Blue, Universal and NOW DISNEY!!!! IDK if you can use them to pay for your trips - I have to find out - but for every $50 you spend in gift cards you get .20 off gas... I think I may be using SW or JB to fly next year! I also have to check the expiration dates - but I am definitely buying gift cards for Universal wo we can buy our tickets to go see Harry Potter!

I keep thinking about what Shelly and her boys are doing and it's making me more and more excited to be there!

I hope it's not raining on them... the forecast called for 60% chance of thunder showers today. :sad2:

And this was the day she looked forward to the most. :guilty:

I hope it missed them!

I would imagine that you can. You can use your Disney reward dollars you earn with your disney visa to pay for trips. I can't see why you can't use gift cards too.

I'm going to find out and I think I am definitely going to buy the Disney ones - and possibly the Universal cards....

I hate to narrow down my airline to just one this far out, but that would be a really good savings for us. Has anyone used SW? I know that Shelly has mixed reviews on them.

I have to talk to Bob. That would be awesome if we could get free gas for a while.

:goodvibes

Afternoon mAYers!

Sea--- are you excited yet? Will you be lugging out the luggage or are you prepared to Procrastinate?:)

NC- how're dem biscuits? I love my Mom's biscuits-- I can never seem to make them right-- so I don't. She usually gets my kids in the kitchen when she is here and has them making biscuits with her. Flour's a flyin.....:rotfl::rotfl:

Hi Tas, RF-... see you two have been keeping the thread going for a bit with the talk of vacation for next year.
RF--- love love looooooooooooooooove exclamation point, exclamation point infinity and beyond.... SW airlines. They are by far and away my favorite ever. I hate United, Delta, Us AIR, --- all the major carriers. Every time we book any travel on any of those, I am always moaning how much I hate them. All the way to the destination- and allllllll the way back.

I have found the perfect solution to anyone whose spouse, SO, wife, husband, boyfriend, girlfriend, etc never wants to go back to WDW again. Send them to Orlando on a business trip-where they don't actually go into WDW-- just the surrounding areas, and you stay behind at home, and see what happens.

I got the phone call this morning, early, from a very worked up "person"----- :rolleyes1----- he says to me--- "The sign is 8 miles down the road from me and I can't stand it. Book a trip. Now. We need to come back".

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh--- the sweet smell of success.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I think I may capitalize on his weakness.

IF I ever get a BLEEPIN' pin I can actually use.:wizard:

:banana::banana::banana::banana:

Yaaay! Congrats Jo! I hope you get a pin soon. :sad2:

I think I may just go ahead and buy a few of the gift cards for SW (as long as there's no expiration on them - or they don't decrease in value or something). Why not? I am going to spend the money anyway! I may as well get some benefit out of it!

I'm glad that you like SW - all I needed was a little bit of reassurance. :goodvibes

My mom flies SW exclusively. She likes the airline a lot.

Excellent work! Now just whisper 'Poly..poly..poly' in his ear when he's in deep deep sleep to put that suggestion deep in his mind.

LOL--- he's the one that wants ONLY the POLY. Thinks it's wonderful.

thinking of ....gasp....... the week before July 4th now. Eeeeek! :lmao:

Scary crowds. Horrible Humidity. Holy hotness.

:cloud9: Loverly Disney. :cloud9:

:rotfl:

RF- double check those cards that they don't have a fee if you don't use them after 6 mos.

Lots do nowadays.

Just think how nice it would be, though, to not have to wait on a bus to go to and from the Magic Kingdom or Epcot during those super crowded times. You can truly wave your :snooty: flag at that time!

I will! Thanks Jo! I am going to inspect the rules and regulations before I do anything - I dont want to end up buying a bunch of Disney cards and have me only be able to use them on merchandise or something.

I don't need anymore princess dresses. :rotfl:

hi guys...it's been an awful weekend. My mom had a stroke, probably Thursday night, but we didn't totally realize it until Saturday morning. Spent all day in the ER Saturday, she was in the hospital until last night. They let her come home -- her speech and motor skills seem okay but her memory and concentration are really bad, and she gets pretty confused at times. I am staying with her a couple of days but we are hoping like crazy that she will be able to stay on her own in this senior apartment. I can't live with her and take care of her indefinitely -- I have to keep working. I'm really worried. We could really use everyone's prayers.

KB- I'm so very sorry your Mom is having so much trouble- and you are so stressed. I am praying very hard that she will recover fully and a solution will come about quickly.
Thank goodness she was already living near you.
Hang in there- we'll be praying.
Keep us updated.

  :snooty: :snooty:
