Good morning MAYers. :goodvibes

I haven't been able to see your pictures of DL yet Jo - but the report is great so far! Thanks for finishing it!! :woohoo:

Thanks for asking about Paul. He is doing OK for the moment. I called my aunt last night and she said that the procedure didn't work, the medication isn't working - and they have him on morphine and sedatives to keep him relaxed. They are going to try a few more medications so they don't have to do surgery again - but they don't know what's going to happen.

Thanks for the prayers everyone. :grouphug: They are definitely appreciated.

So sorry the prcedure didn't work. He is in our prayers!

Morning My MAYers--

It's so cold outside--
how cold is it, you ask? Um, -2.

No school, of course.:) That's a whole week we're going to tack on at the end of May when school should be out.

This morning I'm meeting two of my friends with their kids at a jump zone so they can get some of their restlessness out of them.:yay: Cabin Fever has set in.

I'll be back later on to try and do a TR continuation--- I still have tons of pics left to share, including some from Laguna Beach- if anyone is interested in seeing it.:goodvibes

Shelly-- the Bobsleds are indeed slow. I thought it would be more of a BTMRR speed, and maybe it was- I know that even BTMRR is pretty slow, considering other rides out there- and maybe the bobsleds get faster as the day goes on-- It was cold that morning. But, yes, it was slow and not at all what I thought it would be like.

I guess people who have gone to WDW a lot have certain preconceived ideas about how things are out in DL. Just as those who go to DL and then go to WDW do as well.
Things are never are what you've imagined in your mind-- good and bad!:goodvibes

Okay- gotta go- y'all hold down the fort while I'm away.:snooty:

Jo

Have fun at Jump Zone!!!

Hey all... busy here cleaning up and doing laundry.... I saw this really cool video... I hope you guys enjoy as much as I do... It makes me REALLY miss WDW.... :( hope my trip was sooner....

http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2009/10/a-model-day-at-the-park/

I miss WDW too!

Happy Friday Mayers - Woo Hoo! So glad it is here!

Same old boring sunshine and blue skies here again.

Has anyone seen my sunglasses? :cool1:

Sea

It was 14 here this morning when I took the kids to school. Windchill -4!

Hi everyone! Hope all is well in Mayerland.

 I'm not feeling this guy today. I'm feeling more like this one- :faint:
We got a couple inches of snow here overnight and schools are closed. Not sure the reasoning on that one since DS's school is on our road and it was clear by 7am. :confused3 I was expecting a delay but not a closure. DS was happy to have the day off though and I'm happy to have him. :cloud9:
All of my day care kiddos came late because of the weather which means that they all slept in late at home which makes for a rough naptime. They are all bouncing around wild and loopy, only one is showing signs of being sleepy. The 2 in the portable cribs are using the rocking chair between the cribs to play peek a boo- quite cute for the first couple minutes but now it's worn off. Go to sleep.
At least it's Friday!!!! That and I keep reminding myself that exactly 2 weeks from now I'll be on I95 half way to Disney World!:woohoo:

Jo- I love the report of Hollyweird and I do have to agree on the nickname. Never been there but by the looks of it- weird is fitting.
RF- Hope they can find something that works soon. I'll keep him in my prayers.

Mari- I loved that video! I watched it and teared up and then showed it to my kids. They are SO excited that we are going back! Thanks for making my day! Now I feel like this guy-

I can't believe your trip is coming up so soon!!!

Hi everyone..

Be careful what you ask for I guess... with all the snow we had yesterday, Jason's brother and sister and their families didn't want to brave the weather and didn't come over for dinner and cake. So needless to say we will be having leftovers for a while. Tomorrow is Ethan's birthday party with his friends so I will have another cake to make then.
Jillian Michaels will have to kick my butt on the Wii, in order to work off all this chocolate cake.

It was still snowing this morning, but no school closures here.
Buses are running as well.

:)

Hooray for snow. So sorry they couldn't make it to dinner! Did Ethan have a good time?

Of course he had a great time.
He was just so happy that it was his birthday, and that it was snowing.
The snowman decorating kit he received was perfect for the weather.

hello Mayers :)

Just popping in to say hi, will try to read back at least a few days and see what's going on in everyone's lives...

Has been a challenging last few months. Mom had a stroke in November, they let her go back home and she almost burned down her apartment the very next weekend (put a pot on the stove, boiled over, turned it up full blast, didn't realize the smoke detector was going off and her place was full of smoke, etc). Two weekends in a row she did that. Thank God no one was hurt. Then they put her in a stroke rehab for several weeks and told us she could no longer live alone. We were advised to place her in a board and care -- found a beautiful new home, staff is very nice, Mom is safe, can't set her stove on fire, is getting her meds and the other care she needs, she's close by so we can visit often -- doesn't matter. She wants to buy her own place and live all by herself. We have the same conversation over and over and she doesn't get it or she doesn't want to get it, I have no idea, but it's exhausting and heartbreaking. :sad2:

I did get the job I applied for -- no more money, and only a 1 year assignment, but very high visibility, high responsibility, stressful...but interesting and challenging and maybe I'll get some permanent opportunity in the future because of this. I hope so.

Things are going well for Tim and me...we celebrate our 10th anniversary on 3/17  -- think we might finally splurge and stay at the Grand Californian, since it's a milestone anniversary. Hey Sea, if we do make it down there, could you and any of your crew meet us on Thursday 3/18 or Friday 3/19? We would be leaving on Saturday 3/20 in the morning to drive home...would love to see you guys again... :grouphug:

So that's what's going on in Katiebell land...now I gotta catch up on what's going on with all of you...:surfweb:

Hi katie,

So sorry about your mom, that is a horrible thing to go thru. I am sure she is in a much better place with people who will take care of her. :grouphug:

Good news on your job and great news on going to the Grand Californian for your anniversary. WOO HOO!! :woohoo:

Good Morning!!

So after going back in forth, I decided to stay at Pop. I am a creature of habit and I love Pop. But I did decide the next trip will be at a moderate.

So I changed my reservation and got the 300 gift card, which is awesome and saved some money too. I am excited!!

Today I am going to finally take the girls to the movies to see The Princess and The Frog. It's about time. ha ha

How is everyone today??:lovestruc

Hey everyone--

KB--- I'm so sorry life is taking you on such a whirlwind tour right now. Congrats though on your job- that's wonderful news. Hopefully your Mom will improve and you can get back to concentrating on life itself. Congratulations too on going to the Grand Californian and Happy Anniversary!:lovestruc When you go, sit in front of the fireplace in the little alcove there. It's such a peaceful little spot- it was my favorite place out there. That hotel is phenomenal- better, I think, than the WL at WDW.

Huggie--- woo hoo for MAYtrips! And good savings at POP! Was it better than the public code that's out right now saving you the % off of room only?

Hello to everyone else-
hope you're all enjoying your weekend.

I'll work on another DL TR as soon as I can---
the kids will FINALLY, after being out for THREE weeks- be going back to school tomorrow.:scared1:

YAY ME!

Jo

PS....
In four months from yesterday--
I'll be checking into the Poly.

It can't get here fast enough.:goodvibes

Hey everyone! I am really excited because I bought my window treatments today!!! I got really great deals on everything and ended up doing 2 windows for about $120!!!

Here's my before and after shots!

Yaaay! I think it turned out super cute and it really warms the house up! Those blinds were super '80's and they just had such an industrial feeling. Glad they're finally gone! :goodvibes

I really wanted bamboo blinds for in the Dining Room, but I couldn't find any that were long enough... The curtains in there are super plain, but I still love how everything looks. :lovestruc

Aloha Jo! That is so awesome about your upcoming Poly holiday!

RF - You home is looking very nice! Good job!
