Another snowday for the girls...we got some snow overnight; now it's raining, but the temp is dropping fast. What a mess. The blizzard warning starts at 1:00 p.m.!!! I got the driveway shoveled just in time! Wish us luck, it's gonna be nasty!!!

Congrats on the vacation planning Mari. It will be here before you know it. And you will love WDW at Christmas time. :santa:

And a big fat congrats to JO on booking the POLY!!! :cloud9: Look at your ticker, it's already under 5 months!

Sorry about the snow everybody is getting. I am reading about it on a bunch of threads. It seems we are the only ones without snow. That's got to be a first!! Although I think we are going to get some tonight. :scared:

Just finished up wrapping all the Christmas presents. Now if I can just find somewhere to hide them before the boys get home. . .

Mari- Congrats on such great grades! And an even bigger congrats on the next trip to Disney! 26 people is a HUGE crew to go to Disney with! ANd just think, in 2 weeks your ticker will get rid of that dreaded word *year* and be only left counting months!

Shelley- I have all mine hidden in my closet. Don't know how many more years I can get away with that though. My kids don't snoop yet but perhaps next year I'll buy a lock for the door or find a new hiding place.

Stay safe and warm for those of you that are getting the crazy blizzard conditions. I want snow but not the blizzard part.

Here Trixie- This should keep you warm during the blizzard!

Hi everyone! :snooty: I finally saw everyone pics last night. :goodvibes

Monny - Your kids are adorable! They look exactly alike! You're tree turned out great too! :thumbsup2

Random story about Heather's past - My dad used to cut down our tree with a chainsaw every year, but then one year when I was about 11 or 12, he was on a slight hillside and he started to slip - and I don't know *exactly* how it happened, but he cut his thumb almost all the way off! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: It was terrible. We had to rush him to the hospital - he was clinching his teeth so hard, and my mom couldn't find anything else, so she made him take off his sock and bite down on it until we got there. Ugh, needless to say he started *buying* our christmas tree after that. :lmao:

So - TELL HIM TO BE CAREFUL OUT THERE! :sad2:

Sea - Any more Caribbean pics for me... :cloud9:

OK, So I know that I am constantly planning vacations and telling you guys about them and then they fall through. BUT - there is a possibility of an Alaskan cruise for us in May. :goodvibes AS LONG AS - Bob still has a steady job by then, and as long as we can still go to WDW in Sept with my family. It may be a shorter trip - but I can't blow them off. We've been planning it forever and we've both really been looking forward to it.

So - cross your fingers for me! :wizard:

Hi Mari - Glad to hear that you are doing so well in school! Congrats on the upcoming WDW trip too - awesome!

Jodi - Congrats on your trip too to the Poly. WOW!

RF - I will post some more pics soon from the Caribbean. Have you decided on the cruise line for your Alaskan trip?

Trix - We have snow here too! (In the mountains, about 50 miles a way.) More rain is expected tomorrow.

Sea

I'm back! I have a bunch of stuff to download off the camera and video camera.

I'm really looking forward to hearing about your trip! :goodvibes

guess what guys I got a B+ on one of my research papers.... a 90 on my psych 102 exam and chem i'll get the grade tomorrow....

Way to go! You should be very proud! :teacher:

another guess what...... We are going to Disney in either Dec 2010 or Jan 2011... again with the 26 family members.

Woo-hoo! Congrats!!!

OK, So I know that I am constantly planning vacations and telling you guys about them and then they fall through. BUT - there is a possibility of an Alaskan cruise for us in May.

My MIL and I were just talking about Alaska the other day. I had just watched The Proposal and was telling her how beautiful I thought the scenery was in the movie (the surrounding area AND Ryan Reynolds :thumbsup2) and she told me that if I only took one more trip in my lifetime that it should be to Alaska. She thought it was absoluely breathtaking. I hope it works out for you! :wizard:

It would be Royal Caribbean. :goodvibes I really hope that this works out - but I am just so nervous about Bob's job that I can't book until after Tax Return Season. It's my favorite time of year. :lovestruc

:rotfl2:

Shelly----- :rotfl2: a big fat THANK YOU to my deluxe pusher. It was thru many many hours of painstaking talking that "WE" ;) booked my resort.:lmao: Thanks for the support for days n days.... (that turned to weeks...) on end of listening.

Congrats to MARI for a job well done in classes and... for the trip! Yay for you!!!

Kim--- love that your DH cut down the tree! What a great memeory you guys are making!
We tried that once. Once was enough. In Rochester NY- in 10 feet of snow. Dumb us. Our tree that year was lovingly nicknamed Hunchback. It was the ugliest tree we ever had b/c after standing in a blizzard- I pointed to one and said "That's it" and ran to the car. It was so ugly- I never even really looked at it.:lmao: When we got home, we realized it had a "Hump" in that back. Thus- "Hunchback".

RF-----WOW!!! You guys are just rolling in the vacations, girl. Lucky girl!
Yay for Alaska! What about Hawaii? Is that but a memory for now? Just don't be the Titanic-- "Iceburg- Dead ahead!":scared1:

Thanks for the shout out, SEA about the POLY! We are very excited to be trying it out! Let me know if you can come out too-- I'll tell you the dates!:goodvibes
(Mark is going back to Cali in June but I won't be with him this time b/c of the MAY trip.:headache:)

I'm back! I have a bunch of stuff to download off the camera and video camera.

Overall, we had a good time. There were a couple of disappointments in there, but they didn't ruin the trip.

I'll post more about the trip later after I have some time to settle back into the grind of work.

I can't wait to read it!!

Good afternoon everyone! Hope all is well!

As soon as DD and the rest of the gang stop squirming on their nap mats I'm calling Disney!!!! Today's call is the unhappy Disney call though- the big pay off. (where's the smilie with empty pockets showing that it's broke when you need him?)
At least I can say that tomorrow is 45 days out!

Got all my Christmas presents wrapped last night. Only one more to buy- the Harry Potter DVD for my nephew and perhaps a copy for myself might slip into the cart. :rolleyes1

RF- Congrats on getting ready to book for September! :yay: :dance3:
DH thought I was crazy talking about when we're going to book our next trip when we haven't even gone on this one yet :lmao: I have it all planned- July 2011 we'll go to the Outer Banks for our 10th anniversary and renew our vows on the beach. Then in 2012 (unless I can convince him earlier than 2012) we'll head back to Disney the first week of Dec because we've never seen it decorated for Christmas. See I have it all planned. Not nuts. Just type A. ;)

Jo- Our tree is a real one- DH cut it down himself. He was the only one there with a chainsaw. He doesn't mess with those piddly little hacksaws when it's cold.
DSCN3110.jpg

Hooray for the big pay off!!!

:woohoo:

Hey all.... i finally got some time to sit here and read....

Sea - GREAT pics.... i would LOVE to go to WDS one day... i know who to call when i do go over to the west.....

Kim - Great pics of the tree and the kids... Marissa never gave me problems at 2 but now at 4 she gives great shows at stores.... Hopefully she gets over it soon....

RF - Great news on booking the trip for next year....

guess what guys I got a B+ on one of my research papers.... a 90 on my psych 102 exam and chem i'll get the grade tomorrow....

another guess what...... We are going to Disney in either Dec 2010 or Jan 2011... again with the 26 family members.... i will be staying offsite at Orange Lake. That is gonna be my step fathers gift to us again. I'm so excited especially considereing i wasn't planning on a trip until at least 2012. We were all together on thanksgiving and we were all talking about how much fun we had on vaca and how last year on thanksgiving we were making final plans for our trip and we had nothing to finalize this year. So my step dad said he wants us all to go again.... i'm telling you guys I didn't stop smiling for like 2 days.... he just told us that on Friday so i'm still so excited... too bad its so far away.. but it's ok since we are planning a big party for my mother's 50th bday party in June.... I might try to squeeze in staying an extra 3 days at least in POP.... wishful thinking..... well just a quick drive by here... i am like a walking zombie lately staying up late studying since Marissa won't leave me alone during the day even when DH tries to take her she always wants "mommy".... well good night my fellow Mayers I just know that you guys would be excited to me going back to WDW.... i'll check in tommorrow....

Good grades and WDW trip!

Life is good!

Oh my goodness. Am I ever glad I re-read this page this morning.

I was sitting at DD10's orchestra concert last night, which included the 5-6-7-8 grade orchestras, and one of the boys in the eighth grade orchestra looked sooooooooooo familiar to me, but I couldn't place him. I looked at the names in the program...nothing. I asked my DH and DD7 if we knew him...nothing. It was driving me crazy!

And then I read your post this morning.

That kid last night looked exactly like your DS!!! I knew it as soon as I saw your post.

Phew! I feel so much better! :rotfl2:

 I didn't know we went to the same school. Our concert was last night!

This really makes me miss snow. :lmao:

RF - That chain saw story is so scary!!!! Yikes!

Well, after shopping all day.... :faint:

I bought this dress to wear to the Holly Ball except in brown.

I am so tired.

Then I bought DD a different dress. I am going to make her try it tonight.

I am so tired.

Then I bought DD a different dress. I am going to make her try it tonight.

Love Adriana Pappell's designs.

This is the same dress that I wore to a wedding this summer only in a two toned champagne color.
MCat also had a dress by A. Pappell that looked similar, only with a high neck, that we got from Ann Taylor.

You will feel glamourous all night.:snooty:
:rolleyes1You need chocolate pearls to accent it with.:lovestruc

We bought mCat a single strand chocolate pearl necklace with matching earrings in Hawaii and I have been very jealous of them ever since.

Holy runaway monorail tickers batman! I'm in the four month range now!!!!!:cool1:

I shall banana dude myself....

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

It's like Winnie the Pooh and The Blustery Day out there. Just add cold and snow!!!

Had to hold onto Ethan tight at the bus stop this morning.

Now off to gymnastics and get some groceries... catch up with you later.

NC- GORGEOUS DRESS!!!!:flower3:

Well, winter has finally reached Pittsburgh :cold::cold::cold::cold:

But I got some really good news yesterday!!! My sister Casey is coming to WDW with us in September!!! We talked about taking her, and she said that she would ask my parents to pay for her. So, I kind of thought she forgot about it and didn't really care, but my mom said that and 'new glasses' were all she asked for for Christmas. :lovestruc So, my parents are paying for her trip and they want me to make something up for her to give her on Christmas. :goodvibes

How should I do it? I was thinking about making her a 'coupon booklet' you know like the generic ones you give your parents for hugs and to do the dishes? LOL. and make them like 'Good for one free Monorail ride' or 'Good for one train ride to the Himalayas' and then have them get more and more obvious. You know? OR - Making a disney scrapbook page and leaving space for the pictures and write in 'Your picture goes here' - OR like a scavanger hunt for clues.

What do you guys think? I am so excited!

P.S. - It's a surprise.:ssst:

:lmao:

I've always wanted to use that guy!! :goodvibes

Off topic, but according to my TV this morning it was 9 degrees in Rogers around 7:30. Chris said, "Wow! I'm glad we're not at Embassy Suites right now!" It's cold in them thar hills!

I brought home two Adriana Pappell dresses yesterday. I couldn't find the other one on-line. It was a baby doll style dress with ruching(sp) at the bust and at the shoulders it was black lace with a nude underlay. Chloe likes that dress best.

Then I bought a dress at Belk that is their store brand, New Directions. It is DH's favorite. I just knew he would love the AP brown dress.

photo5.jpg

This dress is black with champagne colored accents. I looks very curvy on, in a good way, and sort of Mad Men 60's fun.

Now I don't know what to do.

I love the idea of chocolate pearls with the brown dress. I think Dillard's may have had something like that. I still really like the brown dress.

I think I have shoes for the brown dress although I might like a lower heal. There is a lot of walking and standing. The last time I wore those heals, I needed a chiropractor to get my back back into wack. It is a pain getting old. So that would mean I could go buy whatever shoes I wanted.

This is the NEW dress I bought Chloe yesterday. I already had one for her but when I saw this one. I just knew it was meant for her. She tried it on last night and she just looked lovely.

Oh how fun!!!!

Those are all great ideas!

Didn't Shelly do the box in a box thing last year. Like you start with a giant box and it has a gift inside like sunglasses and a note like your future looks very bright, you may need to use these soon, but it also has another wrapped gift inside of it. With maybe a disposable camera and another clue as well as a smaller gift. ETC. I am sure Shelly can whip out the link to her Pre-trip report from last year.

Kim are you doing a Christmas surprise?

Darn, this makes me want to give my kids a trip to WDW for Christmas. I thought I was over it, but darn it just keeps coming back. :lmao:

Chloe's dress is adorable. She will be beautiful in it.

Which dress are you most comfortable in????:goodvibes That is always of utmost importance to me.:lmao:

I knew I loved my AP dress as soon as I put it on- but it fit like a glove. I wore my rhinestone shoes-- medium heel, with diamond drop earrings, no necklace, but wore the diamond bracelet Mark gave me for Christmas one year. I think a necklace with it would have been nice though.

My thought son the two dresses you posted----- the AP one is sophisticated elegance, the ND one from Belks is nice- I just don't know if it's "elegant". KWIM?

Yes it is a balmy 10 degrees out in our neck of the woods. Polar bear plunge anyone?
