Thank you!
My heart is just aching.

I do know that he is at peace now,and over the last month he was in a lot of pain, and had to be sedated a lot.
I honestly hadn't shared new updates lately because of how painful it was to think abaout.

Even with all his hospital visits and with the pain the thing he wanted most like all 3 year old boys was to go home to play with his sisters Aida and Kate and his brand new baby brother Eli.

The steroids for the tumor had made him very unrecognizable, and his face had puffed up to 3x its normal size.

I believe in the power of prayer, and hope that Amanda and Joe and the kids and their extended family will feel them all and be lifted up by them to help them through this terrible loss.

I'm so sorry Lake. I'll be praying for all of them.

Lake - I am so sorry to hear about Malik's passing today. Our family will be praying for the family during this difficult time. - Sea

Asking for some very special prayers from my friend Amanda and her family today. Malik past away this morning after his 5 month battle with brain cancer. He was almost 4 years old. God has just accepted the sweetest and most precious little angel ever.:littleangel:

I know that some of you are avid gym people - do you have any suggestions on workouts? I generally have 45 min - hour to work out and after I do a 1/2 hour of cardio I am kind of lost as to where to go from there. I know I need to do more work with weights, but I don't know what to do.

I know Jo gave you some great advice, but since you mentioned Biggest Loser, I wondered if you've read "Where Did All The Fat Go..." by Rob Huizenga, one of the doctors on Biggest Loser? It seems to not get very much attention for some reason, but he pretty much tells you exactly what they do on the show and how to adapt it for home use. If you're serious about losing, this is a great read.

Snow Day!!!

The girls are going to be so excited! Every school around us is closed, for miles and miles and miles. We got 8-12 inches of snow overnight! :scared1:

Thanks Trix! I will definitely look into it!

Happy Friday Mayers!

Last night we had tickets for the screening of The Frog and the Princess at the Walt Disney Studios lot in Burbank. Here are the pictures of our adventure last night...

First off dinner...the boys requested Bob's Big Boy hoping to see a few celebs, but nobody showed up.

IMG_7282.jpg

We did sit at the "Beatles" booth though!
IMG_7274.jpg

IMG_7290.jpg

Jeremy's gravy plate...there is a chicken fried steak under there somewhere.
IMG_7291.jpg

Chris' french dip.
IMG_7292.jpg

My wife and I both got the double decker burger.
IMG_7293.jpg

For dessert we shared a hot fudge cake...Jeremy stole the cherry before I took the picture - so he put the stem back into the whipped cream. Thanks son.
IMG_7294.jpg

I was still hungry...
IMG_7302.jpg

I love neon signs...this one is a LA classic!
IMG_7307.jpg

Next up WDS...

After dinner, we headed over to the studios, which was only about 2 miles away from Bob's. Parked on the lot in the Zorro parking structure. I think every building and soundstage is named after a something or someone there. We were directed to the "Welcome Center" which was the Prop House on the lot. This is where you get your wristband and buy popcorn and stuff.

IMG_7328.jpg

They had some neat stuff from the POTC movies here...
IMG_7312.jpg

IMG_7314.jpg

IMG_7319.jpg

IMG_7326.jpg

IMG_7325.jpg

They then release you in groups of 25 or 30 to walk over to the lot theater.
IMG_7332.jpg

In case you need to use the bathroom, you can have "The Ultimate Disney Experience!"
IMG_7333.jpg

Along the way we saw the movie posters for TS3.
IMG_7340.jpg

And Mickey Mouse too!
IMG_7344.jpg

IMG_7345.jpg

We made it here!
IMG_7350.jpg

IMG_7347.jpg

Before we could go into the theater, we had to surrender our cameras and cell phones and they also "wand" us, checking for any other electronic devices on us. Security was tight and understandably so - but it was still funny to watch them every grandma and kid as they went into the building.

The theater was recently remodelled. It is beautiful inside. For pre-show, they had the organist from the El Capitan come and play all the Disney movie tunes on his tricked out Roland organ. He was fantastic.

The movie is fabulous! The music and animation is pure Disney and it is so wonderful to see the quality and excellence put into 2d animation again. I am not a big Randy Newman fan, but the music he wrote for this movie has won me over. He did a wonderful job and the soundtrack is worthy of a purchase.

Next up...the Frog and the Princess attraction and a studio lot tour!

After the movie, we went to another sound stage, this the water tank stage that was used to film 20,000 Leagues, to see all the Disney princesses, more props, an animation demonstration, crafts tables, games, food, merchandise and a Kodak photo experience.

The building on the immediate right is the old animation building which was used to produce Snow White.

IMG_7389.jpg

Yep, I saw it - Hannah Montana's wig! My life is complete now.
IMG_7390.jpg

A Disney animator gave a lecture on how to draw one of the characters for the new movie.
IMG_7394.jpg

More dessert...
IMG_7412.jpg

IMG_7413.jpg

IMG_7414.jpg

Next up - the studio tour.

Love it love it love it!!!!

So interesting and good to hear a review of the movie! Belle is dying to see it of course.

Did you get cupcakes????

Bob's Big Boy is the same as Shoney's back home. I love Shoney's!!! They also have the Shoney's Big Boy out front of the restaurants. Their hamburgers and onion rings and hot fudge cake are soooo good.

Sigh- okay so now back to earth- I'm off to open me some tuna for lunch. Diet you know.

Next up was a short studio tour...this is first time that they have done this since 1940. It was definitely a nice touch to add to this event!

IMG_7420.jpg

Our first stop was the old animation building where all the classics, Peter Pan, Dumbo, Cinderella, Sleepy Beauty, etc. were imagined and birthed.
IMG_7425.jpg

The building is now production offices for Jerry Bruckheimer, Tim Burton and other film producers for WDS.
IMG_7428.jpg

This picture is chiseled marble, it took over a year to complete. It is amazing.
IMG_7432.jpg

Down the hall of the building are original artwork and sketches...
IMG_7434.jpg

IMG_7437.jpg

IMG_7438.jpg

IMG_7439.jpg

IMG_7440.jpg

IMG_7441.jpg

Now that is cool!
IMG_7443.jpg

IMG_7445.jpg

IMG_7446.jpg

IMG_7448.jpg

IMG_7449.jpg

IMG_7450.jpg

IMG_7454.jpg

More to follow...

Our next stop was the Disney Legends area. This is the Michael D. Eisner building. Notice the Seven Dwarfs? This is to represent that they are foundation to the success of the WDS. That is why they are holding up the roof of the building.

IMG_7458.jpg

IMG_7474.jpg

IMG_7475.jpg

Here at the Legends area you can walk right up to the Partners statue!
IMG_7470.jpg

We then walked over to the Frank Well's building, the Disney archives.
IMG_7511.jpg

More costumes...
IMG_7478.jpg

IMG_7480.jpg

IMG_7481.jpg

IMG_7482.jpg

IMG_7483.jpg

An invention by WDS, the multiplane camera. One of 3 in the world in existence. This is the camera that transformed film animation.
IMG_7494.jpg

IMG_7485.jpg

IMG_7487.jpg

IMG_7486.jpg

With this camera, they were able to move the foreground scenes and the background scenes at the same time, giving you the experience that you are moving forward. An example would be in the opening scene of Pinocchio where it appeared you were flying over the homes in his village.

More collectibles!
IMG_7497.jpg

IMG_7498.jpg

IMG_7499.jpg

IMG_7500.jpg

LMBO!
IMG_7501.jpg

A collection of Disney hats...
IMG_7502.jpg

IMG_7503.jpg

IMG_7504.jpg

IMG_7510.jpg

A few of Walt's personal hats...
IMG_7505.jpg

IMG_7507.jpg

Even more to come...

After leaving the Well's building...we got to see Walt's office, the top corner with the awning. Believe or not, Shaun Cassidy has his production office there now. LOL!
IMG_7516.jpg

With that, our tour was over and they took us back over to the sound stage...however, my son Chris talked Rachel, our tour guide, into taking the four of us over to Pluto's corner...notice that there are only three paws in the cement near that fire hydrant.

IMG_7519.jpg

This corner was in the movie, the Reluctant Dragon.
IMG_7524.jpg

Rachel was so sweet for giving us the extra private tour to Pluto corner. She told us to look her up whenever we are at Disneyland.

We then went back over to the sound stage...the crowds thinned out and all the kiddos went home so we were able to pictures with all the princesses with the boys. I will spare you all those pictures, LOL! But here are the ones we shot with Princess Tiana - I think she is an excellent Disney princess.

IMG_7553.jpg

IMG_7554.jpg

IMG_7555.jpg

It was time to go...so back through the lot for a couple of final shots...

IMG_7589.jpg

IMG_7586.jpg

Even their parking structures are amazing!
IMG_7593.jpg

Just remember...it was all started by a mouse...
IMG_7581.jpg

I hope you all enjoyed reading about our adventure we had last night. - Sea

Thanks for the Princess and the Frog review Sea. Emily is so excited and counting the days till she gets to see it. We already have the date selected, and we are meeting her two best friends form her old school and their moms there for a girls day out.

The reviews in the magazines are all amazing.
I can't wait, a new princess movie for my little princess.

Sea, that was absolutely amazing!!!! The costumes were my favorites (especially Queen Clarisse and Giselle's). :woohoo:

Thank you for sharing it with us! :worship:

Sea!

Thank you so very much for sharing that with us!

It was so wonderful! Princess Tiana is GORGEOUS. Love her dress- so pretty!

And- I loved the part with all the different hats. I'm a hat girl. A big wide-brimmed Southern hat to keep the sun off of my face and I am a happy girl.

Thanks again!

jo
