It would be sad to not go to the Poly since you were looking forward to it - but I think that a cheap WDW trip is better than NO WDW trip. :sad1:

With as much as I have been a poly pusher (hey little girl, want some Poly resort. Everyone's doing it!), I have to agree that A trip is better than NO trip at all.

We are definitely trying to do WWoHP when we are there also. I am pushing for another 10 day trip also. But my aunt/uncle/cousin are only doing 8 days.

Bob and I may try to just have a few days alone after they leave. We'll see how much pixie dust my already very tight budget :crowded: will allow for!

I am trying to do both Halloween parties at least and Bob wants to golf. So adding that onto the Universal tix AND trying to stay a few extra days - Yikes! We'll have to see......

My experience in the Mods

CBR - My fav! Very beachy, fun, relaxed - but big and time consuming to travel throughout.

POR - Relaxing, beautiful, peaceful - but the bus situation sucks. Having to share with POFQ definitely slows it down.

POFQ - Jo loves it. My aunt hates it.

CSR - My aunt loves it. Shelly and Mari are definitely NOT fans of it.....

Hmmm...... I don't think I helped at all. :rotfl:

How about you NC? Any imaginary WDW trips floating around? Or are you going to suprise us in March or April again? popcorn::

Here is my imaginary trip to WDW....

I would go with DH, just the two of us. We would stay CR, CL with Magic Kingdom view.

We would of course go at a non-peak time, whatever that is, I just don't know anymore.

We would walk to Magic Kingdom. It would be sunny and crisp. We would be chosen to ride the train one morning with all the characters. We would get to throw out pixie dust to the crowd.

We would then head over to Fantasy Land while listening to the music on Main Street and smelling the food in the bakery.

There would be no wait at Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, Snow White, or It's a Small World.

We would then head over to ride Space Mountain. Not much of a wait, but walking slow enough to enjoy the que. Then off to Buzz Lightyear, and I would get a high enough score to be a galatic hero.

We would then ride the elevator up to Astro Orbitor without anyone who smells funky. I would soak in the view of WDW on this bright sunny crisp day. Then we would dash over to Frontier Land for the wildest ride in the wilderness. Next, we would ride Splash Mountain wearing our ponchos and not get the least bit wet.

After that it would be time for brunch, so we would hold hands and walk over to Cinderellas Royal Table for a lovely time. (This would be how it was in the old days, when you could still get a breakfast ADR for 11:30.)

Well, I am not sure this is an imaginary trip. I think it may be a dream trip!!

Either way. It sounds just magical enough :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9:

Nope, don't think that helped her at all! :lmao:

And you are not easing my mind about the POR bus situation. :sad2:

I have found that all the moderates bus time before leaving the resort is roughly the same. It may be slightly longer at POFQ/POR to make the stops before leaving the resort. Not sure why. There is only one at POFQ and 4 at POR, so a total of 5. There's 7 stops at CBR and 4 or 5 at CSR. But they are all laid out differently. I actually timed it at CBR in January. If you get on at the very first stop it takes about 8 minutes to make all the stops before leaving the resort. That seemed about the same as the others. Maybe 10 at POFQ/POR.

Some people swear that POFQ and POR don't share buses. They did the entire week we were at POFQ with the exception of the trip from MK back to POFQ.

But will you be renting a car Trix since you are going to Universal? So maybe buses won't be an issue for you. . .

I always tell people of my experience at each of them, but also recommend that they pick the theme that appeals to them the most. All the mods are themed so nicely. All have nice pools. Mousekeeping can be hit or miss at all Disney resorts, as well as the buses. We have had decent bus service at all of them so far!

I will be able to do a comparison of all of them here shortly! Hoping to have a new favorite, but those POR buses are scaring me!!:rotfl:

Afternoon Mayers! I've been MIA for a few days. It's been wild at my house. DS has me worried with school. He doesn't want to go. He cried again this morning and his seeing his little face blowing a kiss to me while holding back tears on the bus breaks my heart. I'm struggling and praying for some guidance.

At least I have all of your imaginary plans to read and pretend I'm in Disney!

Hope all the little Mayers are feleing better today. Flu has been scary this fall.

 It's just miserable when you see your baby not wanting to go to school.

When DS was little (yes, the one who is driving me crazy right now,) he didn't want to go back after Christmas break one year.

I sweetly said, "Would you like to be home schooled?"

And he replied in a very teary voice, "Yes, but I would be worried about the quality of my education."

I didn't realize your DS was still going through that. I hoped things would have gotten better by now. I know, it's tough. Hang in there.

I don't mean to freak you out about the busses Shelly. I'm sure it will be fine. I hope that you have an easier time with them than Kait and I did.

I know that *going* to the parks was usually pretty fine. It was just leaving the parks where I would find a lot of problems. :sad2: Busses for other resorts coming 2 or 3 times before one would finally show up for us, buses being so packed with people that they would just not even stop.... Stuff like that.

Hopefully it was just bad luck and we had just missed one or something.

PLUS! Nov should be a slower time of year to go - so you may have better luck.

I hope you just had a bad week (sorry!) and it's not an all the time thing. I have heard good and bad bus reports about POR. . . I have heard good and bad bus reports about just about every resort though. . . So we'll see. . . :wizard:
You guys should check out Shelly's Top 10 list of things she can't wait to do at WDW (in honor of 10 til her trip!)

Thanks NC! :goodvibes It was you that inspired my top 10 list! :worship:

Thanks everyone for the concern and well wishes for my DDs. They are both still home today.

I took DD7 to the doctor yesterday and he said he saw no complications from the influenza...ears looked good, lungs sounded fine, throat was fine, etc. I wonder a little about a sinus infection, but he wouldn't diagnose that (yet).

He said she should be getting over it in the next couple of days and that he hasn't seen many cases of the flu lasting more than a week. Her temp is down today, so hopefully it will stay that way (it has fooled us before) and she can go to school tomorrow.

DD10's temp is still high today, so she's a no go for school tomorrow and may be the deal breaker for the Halloween party. :headache: We're not going to decide until tomorrow about that. But she'll be missing picture day at school. That's never happened to us! Anyone have experience with that???

DD7 said yesterday that it felt like summer because they hadn't been to school for so long. I called yesterday early afternoon to request their work from their teachers and none of their teachers contacted me. I guess maybe that's just how the public school rolls? If this had happened at our private school, one of their teachers would have brought their work over to our house! :upsidedow

Sounds like DD7 is on the mend! :thumbsup2 Has DD10 seen the doctor also?

I hope you don't have to cancel your party.

DS10 missed his 1st grade picture day because we were in Disney! He just had them taken on the make-up day.

Wow your picture day is late. Ours is always about the 3rd week of school. Actually DS10 got his back last week. Not sure why DS8's aren't back yet. . . :confused3

Nope, that's not how this public school rolls! They should have contacted you. I hope the girls don't get too far behind.

Wow...only got a minute on my lunch break, so....

Yay for Mari-the-almost-RN! :yay:

Yay for RF's weightloss ticker! :yay:

Yay for Shelly's 10-banana-countdown!

Yay for Trixie's DD7 feeling better! :thumbsup2 And hoping DD10 gets better in time for the party...

Yay for Sea's upcoming sea cruise! :woohoo:

Yay for NC's son being concerned about the quality of his education! :rotfl2:

Yay for Jo's mini football-TR! Cool pics! :thumbsup2

and  for Monny's DS not wanting to go to school...poor lil' guy...this too shall pass...

Hi to anyone else I missed...ok...gotta run...and plan my dream/imaginary trip to Disney...:cloud9:

We have missed picture day, and like Shelly we just took them on the make-up day. :thumbsup2

At our school, you email the teachers to ask for the child's work. I think you must request it before 9:00 a.m. in order to pick it up after 3:00 p.m.

For older kids, their assignments are on the web. You can email the teachers, all 7 of them to ask for assignments also, but your child must pick them up from their teacher. You can go to your child's locker at anytime by checking in at the office to pick-up their books. You are very much on your own.

Y'all see this? http://www.reuters.com/article/internetNews/idUSTRE59R0HX20091028

I was already considering an iPhone for March when my current contract with T-Mobile is up..this might me the cincher.

That is cool. My hubby likes his iPhone, but wishes the battery would last longer. He can't make it thru a work day without charging his phone.

I said, "Uncharged phone = phone being used too much!"

I just called all of my DD's teachers...talked to 1 out of 3. :sad2:

It is very obvious that the school secretary did not relay the message to them yesterday that I wanted the girls' work.
