Morning all......

Lake - Glad to hear that the rain has cleared out. Here it going to be 80 but chances of rain... ughhhh.... oh well what can i do....

well off to drop of Marissa in school then off to the gym.. visit my mom to pick up my luggage so i can start the packing process... woohoo.... then back home....

RF - Have a great time shopping today....

Okay Disney Guru's...help me out here.

How long until WDW opens up reservations for 2011.
It won't let me even check for my dates on the website...so frustrating.
I am a planner...please WDW...let me plan!!!!!!!!:lmao:

Happy Friday Mayers! :cool1:

This Sunday is my wife's birthday. Looking forward to enjoying the weekend with her!

Chris has his final choir concert tonight. Hopefully, traffic won't be horrible.

Going to leave the office early today so that will be a plus...how is everyone doing?

Sea

Sea - Have a Great weekend... what are the plans for you and DW??? Good luck to Chris tonight... i know he will do GREAT....

I'll be hanging out this weekend... I have nothing planned... It's suppose to be a great weekend so let's see what I get into.....

Probably just get more excited about going to WDW... I still am not sure how to tell Marissa that we actually are going to WDW..... any ideas??????

Lake - about your question I'm not sure... it should be soon since we are halfway into the year already.....

Afternoon MAYers! :goodvibes

Happy Friday! I worked til 1:30 today. It's been a long week, I'm glad the weekend is here. Tomorrow is our 12th anniversary! No big plans though, DS has a hockey game and then a birthday party to go to. We may go out to dinner tonight. Not sure yet.

Lake -- Disney doesn't release the following years rates until August. That's what stinks about going early in the year, you can't plan as far in advance as you'd like. You can call and book a "room only" at this years rates, and they will adjust it later. But you can't book a package until they come out in August.

JO should be home tomorrow. I bet she is so sad today. I haven't talked to her. . . Did I mention that they LOVE the Poly?!! I guess it lives up to it's reputation!!

Have a great weekend Sea. Happy birthday to your wife!! :cool1:

Morning all.... BEAUTIFUL day here in NJ... i will be out and about all day.... Can't let this beautiful day just go by.... plus have to go buy some stuff for the trip.....

/
Morning MAYers. It's a really nice day here - finally! I am going out with Bob and his mom for 'mother's day' since we couldnt see her last week. This afternoon will be laundry, packing, cleaning, somehow using everything in my fridge creatively for lunch - and then late tonight we are going to Friday's for dinner and Dave & Buster's for a friends birthday. :cool1:

Busy, busy :goodvibes

I hope everyone has a good weekend.

Hi Mari!

Happy Birthday to Lena!!!! Make her feel like a princess Sea! :cloud9:

I hope Jo has a safe trip home. She's probably so sad today. Leaving is always the worst. :sad1: I can't wait to hear all about it though. And, I'm glad she loved the Poly. :lovestruc

Hi everyone!

A much better weather day here today too.
Thanks for the sun SEA! :lmao:

I may not be able to book everything for WDW yet..especially flights...but I did buy my ticket to NYC for September. My first time there. :)

Morning MAYers!

Hooray for a new Disney resort and a cheaper one at that! WTG Disney! :thumbsup2

Morning all..... today will be a fun filled day for me and DD.... Since i'm not in school anymore neither is she.... i decided to keep her here with me.. it saves me on money for paying for the daycare. I'm taking her to Dis store today then i'm off to Borders to find a good book to read... any suggestions??????

I hope everyone enjoyed thier weekends....

Sea - Can't wait to see pics of your DL weekend....

Huggie - Tell us about your trip.....

RF - Enjoy your trip to cape cod....

Morning MAYers!!!

We are BACK and relaxed and sad that our vacation is over.

I am still not decided about doing a TR- I'm having a hard time sitting at the computer for extended periods of time.

I didn't tell you all this but before I left I had to have an MRI of my brain and spine b/c I had a headache for over a month. The tests showed that I have bulging disks in my neck as well as some other issues and I have to see a Neurosurgeon on Wednesday.

Needless to say- the trip was a very low key, hardly any rides done type of trip.

We ate a LOT--- should have done the DxDP--- it would have been cheaper!:)

POFQ is still our favorite mod---:goodvibes got there late on Friday night and got up early to walk the resort. It was very clean and not crowded at all.

We really liked the Poly- but it is a very very busy resort. There are always people around, music playing, crowded pool and beaches in the afternoon. We stayed in Fiji and had a view of the marina, the Contemporary and Space Mtn in the distance. I would highly recommend this longhouse to anyone, as you have water views on either side ( the other side over looks a less popular beach and the GF), all for a garden price. It is also only a few minutes walk to the Ceremonial House and coffee. ;)

The monorail, while nice- takes forever sometimes. The resort monorail broke down on several occasions and one afternoon it took me almost an hour to get back from the MK. The Boat launch is probably a better way to go from this resort- and walking to the TTC to board the Epcot monorail is how we did that park most days.
We did have a moment of pixie dust when we went to EMH at the MK on Sunday night- we got to the dock just as Wishes started and got on the boat immediately-- the driver drove out to the middle of the lagoon and just iddled there and we had our very own free(!) Wishes cruise- just me, Mark and the captain, as no one else was on board. It was one of those moments in Disney that just sort of happens- one that you could never again have.:cloud9:

Our best meal of the entire trip was----- get ready for this b/c I couldn't believe it myself---- San Angel Inn. The menu has changed and so has the food. It was really really good- the salsa was fresh and the guacamole was as well. We had a table by the water and it was relaxing and fun. The service, unbelievably, was wonderful too. Our server was an older gentleman and at first we weren't sure- but he warmed up quickly to us and even brought us a huge bowl of salsa and extra chips without us asking for it.

Our worst meal of the trip-- there were two--- Teppan Edo and Artist Point.
T.Edo just lacked in the atmosphere as well as the food department. Our local Hibachi Steakhouse is 10x better, for less.
AP would have been good, but the salmon was served almost raw and cold on the inside. I like my salmon more on the medium well side- this was rare. We would not return to either of them.

Another wonderful meal from start to finish was Le Cellier. I didn't tell Mark the reviews of it had been less than stellar lately so that it didn't sway him one way or the other. It was really really good. My steak was cooked perfectly and the mushroom risotto.................... :cloud9: I was very worried after Shelly's experience, but I'm so glad we kept that ADR and hope it wasn't just a fluke that it was good.

We ventured over to AKL----- can I just say that I always thought that this resort would be the last deluxe I'd want to stay at--- but it blew me away. I don't actually love a zoo--- I don't have to even go to the AK park when I'm in WDW- but the interior of this hotel is just phenomenal. It reminded me a lot of the interior of the Grand Californian in DL. We walked the resort and decided that at some point we will stay there, only ask for a room overlooking the pool. We had dinner at Jiko and the atmosphere and service there was top notch-- probably the best we had all week--- the food was not to our personal liking. It is all personal taste, I just didn't care for the spices they used-- but it was cooked perfectly and presentation was beautiful. It all had to do with my own finicky self. I may try it again based on the beauty of the place, not necessarily the food.

We have sadly, I'm afraid, turned into deluxe peeps. :lmao: It is just much more what we are used to when on vacation and much more comfortable for us. Mark already has decided we are staying next time at the Grand Floridian and taking the kids. He went over there every morning to their gym and enjoyed running there. He booked me a Pedicure for Mother's Day and it was really nice, although the spa is actually pretty small and cramped in size. I was surprised that he liked the GF so much b/c it has never really appealed to either of us.

The MK is torn up----- tarps hanging everywhere, the water drained in the moat, lots of walls up in Fantasyland. I know that it is all part of the refurbishment process, but it took a lot of the magic away for me.

May was definitely more crowded than in years past. The crowds in the parks were strange. On Monday we got to Epcot at 12:30 and the park was dead. The day before we had gone in and it was a madhouse. It was strange b/c the rides didn't have a long wait time posted-- just a lot of people in the walkways milling about. But not everyday, every park. We followed TGM's advice and he was spot on. One day in the MK at 2 pm the wait time for Space was 10 minutes. That was his best park that day. Once again he was worth the $$.

I took over 1200 pics, so I will post them as soon as I get a chance to upload them.
I only talked to Shelly once but i'm glad she was able to tell you a little about our trip. Thanks Shelly! Wish I was in that hammock again!:lmao:

Hope all is well in MAYerland-

RF- hope your trip is fun- Happy Belated Birthday!:goodvibes
NC-- did you reserve anything yet?
Sea-- Happy Bday to Lena!!:cool1:
Kim-- hope you guys feel better soon. Strep usually makes it's rounds in this house as well. It is awful.:hug:
Shelly-- hope you are doing well. I'm so happy you got your ADR's. It is going to be a great vacation.:goodvibes
Huggie--- it was hot, wasn't it??? Glad you had a fun time.
Mari-- not much longer-- yay for school being out! I know you are ready for a long break!
Lake-- I will warn you that January 1 and 2 are still Christmas crowded. It is packed- we've been at that time. But you're boarding the cruise on my Bday so it must be a good day for a sail.:cloud9:

Did I leave anyone out? If I did, I am so sorry---

off to do laundry.:laundy:

Thanks for reading my novella.

Will post pics later------

All other MAYers--- hope you are having a wonderful MAY. It is our month, after all!
:snooty:

:snooty:

So glad you guys had a great trip! Each time I have been to the Poly it has been so crowded that I thought I might not enjoy it as much as other resorts. I think you guys would really like the GF. It is much quieter and slower paced.

I haven't booked anything yet. This is Chris's last summer that he will not be driving age. I think next summer he will just want to be here with his peeps. So I may book while I control his transportation.

Sea - I hope Lena had a great birthday.

RF - I hope Cape Cod is awesome!!!

Mari - What is like to not have to study? :goodvibes My kids get out in 10 days. DS had a huge paper due today. I know he is ready to get out of school.

Huggie - I need a report! I can't remember where you guys stayed. Did you stay at Pop!? That is where I am thinking of booking if we go in July.

Lake - Did your foot fully recover? How are you?

Jo - I'm so happy that you enjoyed your time over there. I am afraid that MK will look ugly when i get there. Like you i think it will take away from the Magic.... Can't wait to see your pics.... Everything will turn out ok at the neurosurgeon.... you'll see sending pixie dust and prayers your way....

NC - it feels GREAT not to study.... but it's just a break and i know i have to go back to studying starting September again.... So are you booking anything?????

Still undecided. I will look at airfare tomorrow when the rates drops. Who knows. I just can't decide. :confused3

Hello Mayers!

Welcome Home Jo! Glad to hear that you had a very nice time with your hubby and you had some wonderful experiences. I am looking forward to seeing your pictures. :)

Sea

Just wanted to say we had a wonderful and busy weekend celebrating my wife's birthday at DLR. We met up with one of my wife's friends from MA, who is a moderator here on the Dis. It was his first trip to DL, so it was very fun to show him and his brother around Walt's park.

Anyway, more on our adventures later - have to take care a bunch of stuff.

Hey MAYers! :goodvibes I am just popping in real quick to say Hi before we leave tomorrow. Our flight leaves at 9:30 - so we'll be out of here by 6:30ish. I can't wait! Hopefully I'll get a lot of cool pictures. It looks like weather.com is giving us a little bit more hope. 2 of the days that were all rain have cleared up. ::woohoo:

I'll talk to you guys next weekend! :yay:

Jo - It seems like you guys had a great relaxing trip. I'm sorry about your headaches and I hope everything goes well at the doctors.

I never thought we would like AKL either, but the resort is stunning! We loved it there and I think that it's near the top of our deluxe resort wish list. :goodvibes I still want to stay there, the Poly, WL, and BWI. :cloud9:

Mari - I am in the middle of reading 'Pretty Little Liars' http://www.amazon.com/Pretty-Little-Liars-Sara-Shepard/dp/B002LITRTO/ref=pd_sim_b_3 and it is an awesome series. It is supposed to be aimed for teenagers - but there's NO WAY I would let a teenager of mine read it. LOL.

But, it's a really good set of books - it's a little bit scandalous, a little it of a mystery.

I just got the "Nook" reader from Barnes and Noble from Bob for my birthday last week and I am already on the 3rd book. It's so addicting!!!
