These Are The MAYS of our Lives- The MAYers, Part VI

I love the SHV mall! But it is well over an hour from here. So we went to the RPM instead. Is the Disney Store better at SHV? We haven't been there for about a year and a half.

Yes, there's sure isn't a lot of stuff for adults. Even DS10 was unimpressed. A lot of little kid stuff. But I was still happy to be surrounded by Disney merchandise and hearing Disney music. :cloud9:

That's why we go too! :goodvibes To watch the Disney movie clips and hear the music. :cloud9:

I would say they're about the same. I forgot that they hadn't closed the RPM one. I thought for sure that they did... That mall is near my parents house. RPM was my SPOT when I was about 15. :cool2:

I do miss the Disney Store that they had at Century III. That one was the BEST - and it was huge!!!

And SEA - I agree completely. Apple stores are very very modern and cold. I hope they don't change TDS much!!

morning-
Sea- you are hysterical.:goodvibes That stuff is cute!

Shelly--- okay that store did close for a bit- I'm pretty sure it did!! I was there when they had huge sales and had the sign up that it was closing but you could visit the SH mall one.
It used to have the Ears entrance and all of the characters up top and the films running. we used to go once a week when we lived in Fox Chapel b/c by going back roads I could get there in 12 minutes.:rotfl2: how were the prices? Do you think it is now an outlet type store? It's just so strangely different than it was. The boys looked cute btw.:goodvibes

M2N--- :goodvibes arent' you getting excited? I can't believe it's getting so close!:goodvibes Okay- a bit of background with the MAYers- we started talking in 2007 before our May trips. The OP of the thread ditched us- :rotfl2: and we've had lots of comings and goings with different posters thru the years.
Some of us have met up, had lunches and dinners etc together-- I think our NE MAYers are going to try to get together this summer and Sea might even take a flight out of Cali for it too.
This is our symbol---:snooty:--- and we do have buttons we wear in the parks. Sea makes them for us. His snooty has even been to Honduras and back on a cruise.:rotfl:
So- that's a quick recap of our little group- we are happy you've joined us. We've been a bit boring lately, I'm afraid-- we're all so busy with life- it's gotten in the way of DIS time. We have at times been thru 10 pages in a day- but that was when we were all "MAYer, MAYers" and not just MAYers.:snooty: :rolleyes1
And last but not least---We do have a secret handshake- you'll have to stick around for a bit till we trust you and then you'll get to know it too.;):lmao:

Hey to all MAYers in MAYerland---:snooty:

Good morning MAYers!

DS8 is home today. He was throwing up for about 6-7 hours last night. Yikes! He seems to be okay now. I just hope the rest of us don't get it. :wizard:

Great pics Sea, you are so funny!! :rotfl:

Shelly - I'll take pics of the DS we have here in our mall it is SO different to the one you guys have there. well our outlet store is like that but not the main dis store..... I'm glad you guys enjoyed splash lagoon.... i was looking in to doing something like that this winter... we have a couple around here... we'll see what happens....

Hey Mari! :goodvibes

RPM was your SPOT! You must have been a super cool teenager! :thumbsup2

I forgot about the one in the Century III mall. Too bad they closed it. That mall is the best!

I don't think it is an outlet. It is listed as a "Disney Store" on the Disney store website. They don't list outlets there. . . It had regular Disney Store stuff. Not like the outdated park merchandise that the outlet store had when it was in the outlet mall up here. The prices were normal. It just looks different. :confused3 I don't know. . .

Sorry you've got the pukies at your house Shelly. Hope he's feeling better soon. SOunds like the nasty virus going around the country. Belle had it too.

Hope you guys don't get it.:wizard:

TDS-- maybe that's the new look for all the stores? If it is- they need to go back and replan b/c I don't like it.:lmao:

We are just having a Scooby-Doo marathon here this morning. Already watched 3 movies. :upsidedow He just said he is getting hungry. I think I'll make him some toast and then put in the new WDW planning CD I got a few weeks ago. The cover is different. I hope the CD is different too.

Yeah, maybe that's the "new look" they are all going to get. Pretty plain if you ask me. :confused3 Or maybe they were getting ready for a remodel. Who knows. They were selling WDW park tickets there too, so another reason I'm pretty sure it's not an outlet.

We are only doing the quick service meal plan. Feels weird, but I thought in the summer we may not want to stop and do sit down meals. We will be doing more swimming and other activities that we don't get to do when its cold. But, the kids did request Chef Mickeys and I wanted to try Ohana since we are staying at the Poly. We ate there once for Thanksgiving but I wanted to try the regular dinner. So those were the only 2 ADRs that I made.

We aren't even doing the DDP at all on our next trip (November). We are staying deluxe for the first time, so this trip is going to be more about the resort than eating! Plus the DDP isn't such a good deal for us since DS is 10 now.

So that brings me to my QOTD -- We are probably going to do about 4-5 TS meals. We already know what they are. But we really want to branch out on the CS meals and try some new things. So I need the MAYers help -- thoughts, ideas ???

"Scooby Scooby Doo, Where are You"....

Looks like it's just us Shelly.:lmao:

do you want me to tell ya my CS opinions again?:rotfl2:

/
:rotfl2:

Sure! :cool1: Give me your opinions. Again!!

And I'll tell you all my ideas. Again. :lmao:

TS:
Sci-Fi dinner
San Angel dinner
Crystal Palace breakfast
Kona Cafe breakfast (does it really count as a TS? It only cost us $40 last time!)
There's 4. And we will probably either do BRG or T-Rex for number 5.

CS:
We will likely hit all the BW kiosks/carts -
Pizza Window
To Go Kiosk (deep fried fast food)
BW Bakery (for sandwiches)
So other than that we are open for ideas. Bring them on!!
Not sure if we will be in AK long enough to eat. But if we are we need an idea there. . .Thinking about Flame Tree. . .
Would like to try something new at MK. . .
Would like to find anything good at DHS. . .
And will likely eat CS at Epcot a time or two (or three :rotfl:) since we are staying at the BWI. . .

Ok-
my opinions---

CS--
MK- CHH :)
Ak- Flame tree or Y&Y
DHS- Studio Catering Co
Epcot--- ? IDK where to tell you to go. The Mexican CS is "Okay"- they have churros!:rotfl2:

Your TS looks great. Kona- IDK- I'd probably just say that qualifies as a yummy early morning snack.

:lmao:

Great ideas!

I need to look over the CHH menu again.

I remember looking at Y&Y before and thinking there wasn't much there for us. I think I was leaning towards Flame Tree for some reason. I'll have to look again.

Will probably go with SCC in DHS. May need another option too, we plan to spend a lot of time there.

I just recently started looking at the Epcot CS menus. Lots to choose from there! So I'm sure we'll find something.

We have also thought about heading over to the POR food court one evening. DH really like their pasta and I really liked their salads. Then we could go see Piano Bob for a bit. We'll have to see how I can fit that in there. . .

Yeah, I think Kona is more of a CS price, so maybe we will do both BRG and T-Rex!! :rotfl:

And I think I just said this trip wasn't about food!!:lmao:

You're my friend, aren't you? Of course it's about food.

:lmao:

POR would be fun to visit one night since you know you like it there.

SCC at DHS is the only place we ever go to there b/c I just don't feel like there's a lot there to choose from for food.

Flame tree we like -- it's a fun seating area- very beautiful.
Epcot- you're right lots to choose from.

MK- CHH- I like their salad. Mark likes their tuna sandwich. The kids liek the nuggets or fish.

What about the Village Haus in fantsayland? ANything there to eat? Never been.

Mom2npr- We did the QSDDP for our past 2 trips and liked it just fine. It was plenty of food. My only complaint is that the desserts are a little limited plus we don't always get desserts with every meal so many times we ended up getting something that would keep and eat it later.

Sea- nice hat. Between the 80's three piece leisure suits and that hat, you are one styled fella lately.

Shelly- sorry to hear DS has been hit by the stomach flu. The nasty cold virus is still making it's rounds here. I had a mom bring her little one yesterday and I turned him away at the door because he looked so miserable. I'm doing my best to keep things sanitized but the more you keep bringing them ill, the more it continues to be passed around to everyone.

And that Disney store was stark naked!!! Ours is nothing like that. It's very Disney themed- or at least it was the last time I was there in December. Even the outlet in Lancaster is themed. We may be going to the regular store in the mall on Saturday for DD's birthday to let her pick out something fun and I'll try to get some pics.

Why is it when Jo and Shelly get together the conversation always turns to food. :lmao:

Hi Mayers!!!

Shelly & Jo - Sorry to hear about all those Code V's you are having at your households. Hope your everyone is better soon.

Mari - I would be happy to send you some sunshine and warmth, but it is starting to rain again here. More rain this weekend too...bummer!

M2N - Your upcoming trip to the Poly sounds very nice so far. Good job on all your planning!

Sea

What kind of salad do you get at CHH? I think I was looking at some type of a salad on the Flame Tree menu. . .

I'll have to look at the Village Haus menu too!

It is a mystery isn't it?! :confused3:laughing:

Whatever are you talking about?? we don't talk about food- not ever.

I'm so surprised at the amount of people that take their kids out in public in general when they are sick. They want to be home, with Mama holding them, when they are ill. So sad for the little peeps.:guilty: When my kids were babies and had the yukkies, I couldn't pry them from my hip for days- especially Drew. Little stinkin' mama's Boy.

:)

Hi Sea!

Shelly-I get the Garden Harvest Salad but that BLT salad looks good too. Do you eat Hummus? People rave over the "Lighthouse Sandwich--hummus with tomato & broccoli slaw $8.09"
I don't eat it. Chick peas--

:rotfl:

If you guys aren't doing the DDP- then maybe the boys could get an adult meal and split it--? The adult nuggets might be different than the kids.

ooh- what about the Diamond Horseshoe? Is that new?? I don't remember it at all?

I am very impressed by the ornate and detail of this ride. What will be cool when the ride spins around you will be seeing an animated Mickey directing the orchestra.
