It is a report Tom Brokaw did regarding the relationship between Canada and the United States.

The ending where it talks about us not being flag wavers quite the same way you do in the USA...trust me its not because we arn't patriotic in the same way you are... you all know me well enough to know that I am... it's that thing about Canadians that people always talk about... our p's and q's and fellowship and wanting to get along with everyone.

That was awesome Lake! I think my wife and I will be visiting Canada very soon - so many good memories of our trip there. Thanks for sharing that. BTW, congrats for gold you won for ice dancing yesterday!

Afternoon everyone! I only have a few minutes this afternoon but wanted to peek in and say hello. Hope all is well with everyone. All is well here. We have this strange stuff falling from the sky here today- rain. Been so long since I've seen just plain old rain I almost forgot what it was like. As long as it isn't snow I'm happy. Off to eat some lunch and catch up on some paperwork that I've ignored for long enough.

Saturday we went to a mall near the city that actually has a Disney Store!!! (there are only 2 real Disney Stores left around here)

The store is on the lower floor, here are a few pictures looking at it from the upper level of the mall.

Hi Shelly - Very cool stuff! But, I am actually shocked how plain vanilla that store is. Is this a new or temporary location? It almost looks like an outlet store. Weird.

That store has been there for a long time as far as I know. There were signs up that it had a "new look". It definitely looks different than I remember it. The only other one in Pittsburgh has the Mickey Ears arch entrance (it is in another mall), it is very cool looking. But it may have the new look inside as well now, not sure. . .

The other mall that has TDS is South Hills Village. That's a 5 minute drive for me! I should go and buy some stuff to make sure they don't close that one too!!!

BUT - I am always disappointed with the merchandise that they carry in TDS.

Maybe that's because I don't have kids. But, I feel like all of the stuff is toys and dress up clothes rather than clothes for adults or collectables. I just wish there was a little more variety and the merchandise was a little more like what's in the theme parks and TWoD.

Hmmmm...well, the typical Disney Stores around here are usually decorated and themed quite extensively. Pretty much on the same level as the World of Disney store at DTD. Here is a few pictures of the Montebello one...

RF is right about the limited selection of merchandise for adults. That has been major gripe of mine too. About all you can find are a few tshirts if you are lucky.

Last I heard, Steve Jobs (Disney board member now) has lent his Apple Store design team to re-imagineer the stores. I have mixed feelings about this. Apple Stores seem like microwave ovens, plain and ugly. Seriously, John Lasetter needs to handle all of this! He knows the brand and really cares about tradition and style that Disney represents.

We are only doing the quick service meal plan. Feels weird, but I thought in the summer we may not want to stop and do sit down meals. We will be doing more swimming and other activities that we don't get to do when its cold. But, the kids did request Chef Mickeys and I wanted to try Ohana since we are staying at the Poly. We ate there once for Thanksgiving but I wanted to try the regular dinner. So those were the only 2 ADRs that I made.

Alice in Wonderland update!

I love the new Alice in Wonderland stuff! My son is in his school's production of Alice in Wonderland this spring. He is the "doorknob!!" I would love to get him something. I guess we will have to wait until we go at the end of May.

Sea - Great pics... LOVE them....you make me jealous u are so close to DL and you have the sunny weather... we are suppose to get 6 - 12 inches again tonight.... sheesh... snow snow go away....

Shelly - I'll take pics of the DS we have here in our mall it is SO different to the one you guys have there. well our outlet store is like that but not the main dis store..... I'm glad you guys enjoyed splash lagoon.... i was looking in to doing something like that this winter... we have a couple around here... we'll see what happens....
