"These 1st timers go to Disney and get hooked!!! (UPDATE 4/10!)" trip report

18 days to go!!! I finished up the shirts for our trip. I didn't make as many as I planned but I think we'll have plenty. My DH wasn't exactly crazy about wearing any so we compromised.;) I am working on some invites I found on these boards. Those are taking longer than I thought. I'm not sure I'll get those finished but they were just for fun anyway. I can't believe how fast it's going now!!!:yay:

Did you design the shirts and if not can you tell me who did! I like some of your designs better than those I haven't used yet!!!

All the designs are by Kellybell. (both her names and design threads) The birthday one and the white Cameron one have 2 different designs on them.

16 days to go!!!!

I called and cancelled the cool dude for DH and we decided to not get a car rental. The cool dude was going to be a surprise and I don't think he would have been to "excited" about it. We were going to get the car but after reading on here and thinking about our plans, it's too much of a waste. I'd rather spend the money on other things. If we decide to go to Seaworld, I think we'll do a shuttle. That is still depending on what we see at Disney (or want to still see). I'm trying to decide on what to do for DD for her birthday. I wanted to have a cake delivered to our room but it looks like we can't do that at POP. I wanted something a little more special than a basic one but want it to be a surprise. Gotta still work on that. I think I'm going to order her the slipper for CRT. I think she'll like that too!

Good luck. I just looked at the new individual jewelry box cake with toy that have a CRT. I am still leaning towards the mickey mouse one though with the pipping. Its so WDW. I would like to have it done the night we eat at Boma, though. No cool dude? I don't think Austin would care either. Although he is having his 1st haircut done. I am so looking forward to reading when you get back. Tell me about the Sea World. Jason really wants to go there on our day off. Its the only place in Florida he has been and he loved it! I just can't figure out the logistics of getting there and back.

Well, only 12 days to go but on a waiting game. Cameron is very susceptible to staph infections and was hospitalized with one in September. They're not contagious but they are very uncomfortable for him. He gets these little pimples and a few have then gotten infected. He has a small one now and we are watching it like a hawk. He went to the Dr. today and has to go back in a week (unless it gets worse) and we'll go from there. Hopefully it goes away completely. If it doesn't go away before we leave then we won't be seeing Mickey. I won't chance it getting worse and not having our pediatrician. He absolutely comes first!!! Here's my little guy after his 1st haircut. He's such a trooper!!

I hope he feels better! It would suck to have to cancel your trip when you're so close! But of course, kids come first

Awe...I so hope it gets better. Jenny got a major ear infection and threw up the 1st 3 days of our trip to Branson when she was almost 2. We had to call our pediatrician and they gave us an antibotic and then she had a reaction and we ended up in the er and we got different medicine. The poo thing had to sit in the car for an 8 hour drive home. I felt so bad. I can totally understand you staying home to take care of him. Maybe we can spread some pixie dust and it will do the trick!!!:wizard:

Thanks for the good wishes! So far nothing has changed, which is good for us that it's not getting worse. The last one was full blown within 48 hours. He's on an antibiotic and has to bathe with a special wash to keep bacteria off. He's such a little honey and I hate that he has to go through all this stuff.

OK, down to single digits!!!! 9 days to go!! Cameron is doing much better and everything looks like it's going the right way. The Dr. will have the final say on Monday but compared to where we've been in the past, he looks great!!

8 days to go!!! Cameron is better so I'm on with our planning. I went last night to pick up some things I thought we may need and got the kids those glow necklaces. I thought they would be cute to wear during those night parades. I have an iPhone and downloaded apps from itunes for Disney that include park maps and dining info. They are so cool but we'll see how handy they really are. I have yet to order a cake or the slipper dessert yet. Maybe I'll do that today. Today is my last day of work and then I'm off for 17 days!!! I can't wait til 2am (I work nights). I plan on spending all next week packing and re-packing - LOL!!

We're down to less than a week!!! I am so excited!!! Watching the weather though and it looks like we'll get some rain when we're there. Hopefully it won't be too bad. Finished some shopping today and I think we are set. We'll bring 3 suitcases and 2 carryon bags. We split up all our clothes between the suitcases as well as shoes, snacks and diapers. One carryon for change of clothes, swimsuits and diapers and the other (small) for things to occupy the kids on the plane. I so hope we are not overpacking.

And the count down continues.... 5 days left!!!!! I ordered a chocolate slipper for Macie for our CRT ADR and Pop is supposed to call me back for my cake order. I figured we would have a cake in our room the night before we leave. I'm going to go to our Party City and get some festive plates and topper to spruce it up a bit. I only have last minute things to pack now, like toothbrushes and meds. I cleared out some memory cards for my camera and charged both my batteries. Things are going so fast now!!! I so can't wait!!!!!!

Well, I feel like I'm writing this to myself but who cares. Pop didn't call me back today so I'll try again tomorrow. I called to check on our reservation and they can't open it because we booked through a TA. I think that's stupid since it's paid for and it's our trip. Oh well.

I'm at Disney now and so far the weather has been pretty cool...rained this morning and a few drizzely showers here and there but not too too bad...i've heard it's supposed to get warmer as the week goes on

You must be so excited, only 4 more days until Disney!!! Im glad that Cameron is doing better, thats one less thing to worry about. Is the chocolate slipper going to be a surprise for your daughter? I have always wanted to order one but we have yet to eat at one of the restaurants that offer them. You will have to tell me how it was. The glow necklaces are a great idea for night time the kids will love them, my son always has a blast with them. Sorry to hear you might have some rain. Here is some pixie dust pixiedust:

I hope you are havng lots of fun!!! Macie woke up this morning singing "4 more days, 4 more days". She said "Mom, I wish it was 2". I said to her "2, I wish it was NONE!!" She responded with "I was trying not to be greedy!!"

Yes, the slipper is a surprise. I debated on doing it for a breakfast ADR but what the heck, we'll be in Disney!! I have to try again today to order the cake. I figured either DH or I would pick it up by ourselves and then sneak it into the room. We'll have it the night before we leave and just celebrate ourselves. We'll have family coming over on the Sunday after we get home to celebrate her birthday as well. I checked the weather channel this morning and we are looking at scattered or isolated T-storms a few das so far. I figure I'll use those to my advantage since neither DH nor DD are interested in any shows and I am.

OK, i just found out on another thread that the chocolate slipper comes in white chocolate and dark chocolate. I did not know this and just thought it was white. I'll have to call back. I did get my cake ordered finally. It'll be about $30 for an 8 inch vanilla cake with white chocolate filling and white chocolate frosting. Not too bad I guess.

Well, I feel like I'm writing this to myself but who cares. Pop didn't call me back today so I'll try again tomorrow. I called to check on our reservation and they can't open it because we booked through a TA. I think that's stupid since it's paid for and it's our trip. Oh well.

They told us the same thing. They can check my ADR ressies and I can call the hotel directly and they can tell me about my room request, etc. Let me know if it causes any problems while you are there. I know you can fax Disney a letter saying you want control of your reservation. I hadn't worried about it, though!

I am so excited to hear about your trip. I am still debating on the cake. It is actually Jasons birthday on the 2, but we are celebrating Austins 1st while we are there, too on the 9th. Hmm!

My biggest concern was making sure we had a pack 'n play. None of our paperwork has it listed. I emailed our TA yesterday and had her check it for me and she said it's there. It's not a big deal but I think that once your down to 10 days or so, you should be able to access it. I feel like I'm bugging our TA all the time but she's always nice about it.

I can't believe we only have 3 days left!!!!:yay:
