and a drool-stained shirt to make a mentally handicapped child looks totally neglected. :guilty: Thankfully, my pediatrician knows us well & has seen us on a good day. Had to pick up Christian from school today with coughing, wheezing, drooling, and the worst runny nose I think i've ever seen. He looks like a mess. Normally he doesn't drool, but there is stood with both hands in his mouth and drool running off both elbows.

They tested him for strep(negative) but said he has a bad lung infection and a sinus infection. Zithromax to the rescue. Too bad he can't take much cold medicine, only sudafed(anything else makes him have seizures). And that's not working. He's normally pretty healthy, no asthma. However, when he gets sick he makes DH sick. DH has severe lung problems; he's already called and is very breathless & fatigued, but he won't go to the dr until tomorrow.(I would not be surprised if they put him back on oxygen, he is really laboring) Hopeflly I can get him through the night without an ER visit.

So here i am making homemade vegetable beef soup, pushing juice and popsicles on my irritable son, and wiping green up slime (think :Ghostbusters :rotfl: ) Think i'll make some Rice Krispy treats while I'm at it.

Aw poor guy. I hope he's feeling better soon. My one-year-old woke up yesterday with green snot encrusted all over his face and his hands. He looked awful and I hated having to wipe his face while he was screaming.

I'm sure he doesn't look neglected! My nephew is almost 3 and I don't think I ever see him NOT looking like that, and as far as we know he is on track with other children his age. Good luck with taking care of your two patients. I hope they're both feeling well soon!!

:rotfl: Thanks. I'm just about a fanatic about keeping Christian clean. My other(normal) kids can look trashed, but I never take Christian out in public looking anything less than fine. :cool1: Just one of my many idiosyncrasies...

Don't worry about a little slime!

I know what you are going through though. My son is visually impaired and he went throught the first 5 years of life with a lump on his forehead from running into things. I was always afraid I was going to have CPS called on me!

Luckily, he now manages to protect his head a llittle better, but his arms and legs are always bruised and scraped up.

Hope you all feel better soon!

Sounds you have a rough rest of the week ahead. Keep your sense of humor as this too will pass! :flower3:
