THIS!! That is one of my #1 reasons that I love Disney! You don't know how much weight your kids have on there shoulders until you see them relax be just a carefree kid!

They look so excited to be going back to school! Ethan was whining under his breath as he was walking away from the house on his first day, LOL. They do grow up way to fast!! I love the baby pics!

they were excited the first day. I got my morning phone call about 6:45 am they were jazzed up. Tuesday the call was about 7:05 Wednesday i had to call them at 7:15. So the newness of school has worn off! HA HA HA!

I believe the long term campers start their decoration change over on Nov 1st. Prior to that, they have all the Halloween decorations up. So even if you don't see all the Christmas stuff, you may get to see some Halloween stuff in there too. I am thinking by the time you go on Nov 7th... most of it should be changed over, though.

ohhh This is going to be FUN! I have always wanted to take a ride into the campers site and see all the decorations!!! THANK YOU! we are going November 13th!

Man oh man. I was going to launch into talking about "Disney Rash" which I've read about elsewhere on the DIS... People reporting redness and swelling on the lower legs, either during or right after visiting Disney. But with you having it at home now too, I can't imagine it's the same thing. Regardless, my sympathies! I hope you get to feeling better soon, honey!

I had the rash in Disney this was the same thing. I also had it once when we went to the zoo... I need to talk to the doc.

Also... Disney lets me be the carefree child I am too, and I'm 34.

Yes it's easier for an adult to retract into childhood. Children are a little more reluctant to let go ya know embarrassment and all... In Disney my kids just let it all go and have a great time.

That looks very similar to a rash I was getting. I now have prescription cream I keep with me at all times. We were also gone when I first got it and I itched it raw in the middle of the night. I also got out on water pills for the swelling. I have no idea why but Ive noticed a huge difference since I was put on them. Good luck! I wouldn't wish that on anyone and definitely not at WDW.

What is the rash called? I was thinking of water pills... I drink SO MUCH water and i am the person who has to stop for a bio-break (KatMark word) SEVERAL times but my legs are still swollen!
Yes the rash does itch, it burns, it's horrible. I guess it's off to the doc i go!

Oh I love football season too! DS is too little for the flag version here and thats all we have. I am excited that both he and his sister and doing soccer this year! Something to go watch!!!

So.. As you know the boys had a scrimmage game yesterday when the boys got out of the car and put the pads on i was shocked.

The kids did fantastic yesterday it was a tie game. both boys are starting players. Matt plays both defense and offense. I don't know how i feel about him playing nose guard.. Matt on offense is tackle and Zack is and end and probably be on special teams, he wants on defense and will be trying to gain a spot.
I have to tell you this.. there is a kid on the team the sweetest kid! He is just a doll. His brother begged the league to get him on. Because he goes home and sits in front of the tv and eats- his brother wants him up and moving, of course the league said yes. He has been dubbed HULK. He weighs about 220 about 5'6? well in the beginning he couldn't do anything. as the weeks went on he is getting more and more agile he can do a lot of the exercises the other boys/girls are doing etc. the team is SO supportive too its a blessing to watch. EVERYONE LOVES HIM. well honestly he cannot play in games a lot since because of his weight i mean 220 going against 120 is a little unfair and well it's a safety concern! LOL. If the coaches have a gentelman's agreement Hulk can get in there for a play or two. Yesterday he was able to play!!! it was a riot. EVERYONE was cheering for him!!! he took the opposing team and just pushed them down like rag dolls. as lightly as he could just moved them out of the way.
It like watching Refrigerator Perry but only 10/11 years old.

He was on cloud NINE being able to play. then i found out he is a victim of bully at school because of his weight. i want to go to the school.... But i am sure with him on the team now he is exercising everyday these bullies should start to fear him!!! LOL.

Hey there! Yes, I have already bought my MVMCP tickets. I actually purchased them when I made my package reservation. This will be my first Disney Party so I'm not too sure how quickly they sell out, I know there are certain nights that sell out quicker than others but I have read the Tuesday and Thursday parties tend to be a little less crowded.

Ohh your first party!!! FUN!!! i love the Christmas party!! Yes this is exactly why i want to go on Thursday. not so many peeps!

We will have to a Dismeet that night.

That is great the coaches got him on the team and hopefully this is the road to healthier times for that young man. I was going to ask about the playing because when my kids did, they couldn't be over a certain weight/age (this was for both the Bill George League and Pop Warner).

The Disney Rash



Painful, swelling, burning rash that i don't wish on anyone.

I had figured with my weight loss (43 pounds) this wouldn't happen again.. I was WRONG. The other day i was at Job #2. I didn't have the normal socks i wear there and was wearing nylon dress socks.
I came home and the rash was there. brutal too. Swollen burning etc. Which made me think. This stupid rash has EVERYTHING to do with footwear.
when we went to Great America i wore flip flops for the first half of the day. I was FINE. the second half i threw on my socks and gym shoes and again i was fine. I had a great pair of socks on.
as soon as i wear a crappy pair of socks, or socks that go over my ankle with whatever shoes i get the rash!!! SO! I need good socks the short socks no where near my ankle, and gym shoes for Disney!!! I plan on doing the same thing. wear my nike flip flops then change into my gym shoes for the duration of the day! I am still experiencing with socks and shoes I do NOT want this to happen again. I am still trying to get the swelling down from the bad socks a week ago!

When i go into the Doc for my thyroid i am going to discuss it all with him I drink more water then any normal person and still getting swollen? that can't be right!?

I actually have the same thing happen to me often. More so when I was heavier, but it still happens now as well. I took pictures and showed my doctor. It only happens after long periods of walking/running/on my feet.Even more so in hot weather. He told me it was purpura that develops due to the small surface capillaries breaking in my legs from the walking and heat. It gets sore and swollen. It aches and feels tight and my skin almost gets a little leathery. He seemed like it wasn't to much to worry about, but I have a feeling if it did it more often and more severe, he would probably do more testing. I believe it can be a sign of blood not being pumped correctly through your legs, but there are SOOOO many things that can cause rashes like that. I would say if the initial thing they thought it was (your thyroid out of control) is now under control and it is still happening, you may want to re-address it with your doctor. It could be just something mild, but it is worth mentioning again.

YES! he is the sweetest kid! It's still the same rules. He cannot play unless the coaches agreement to do a play or two just to get him on the field. otherwise he would smash a poor kid! he's over weight for JV too, but he is having a blast and has a goal. lose the weight to play on the line!! he has quite the cheering crowd!

Loved seeing the pictures of the boys.. They are growing so fast! I can't hardly believe it! When they are teens they will tower over you, and of course, little Peanut.

They never told me exactly what the rash came from. I ended up at the Dermatologist with it...I know can see it starting or coming on which was why they gave me the prescription. My mom reminded me at its worst the Dr. also put me on steroids. Yuck! Yes I grew up in Cali and started cheering at age 10 for Pop Warner. We have nothing like that hear. We actually are going to drive to a larger city for soccer! Or at least something other than rec soccer here. Your boys look huge and I have to laugh because at first I thought you were standing on an incline to look taller, too! Hope you get some answer and your ankles shrink!

Hope everyone had a great weekend? We did!
Friday was my normal.
Saturday i worked my Job #2 had a blast. afterwards a friend/neighbor came by. this will be her family's first visit! I think we overlap two days. and she is surprising her girls!!! SO FUN. So we went through everything. Maps the reveal etc. she is such a great person and i really hope their famil yhas the best time!
Sat i WANTED to jump over to the Chicago botanical gardens since Spike (the corpse flower) was going to be opened. sadly they had to manually open it! i wanted to see it. But we never made it over there Since we went to Gurnee Mills mall.
Needed School shoes for the boys. ended up with a LOT more. Disney store outlet, Hot Topic outlet.
Yeah spent way over as usual. we did get shoes! had linner <-- lunch and dinner at rain forest cafe.
I cannot believe how over priced they are... whatever. we had a good time.

This week is going to be INSANE.
Last year was worse as i was trying to get a party together AND still get the Disney trip together. This year... i only have the party and i am WAY behind. i did schedule the bounce thing I have NOTHING.. not a dang thing.
I am working the city job Monday - Thursday Off Friday. Then i am working job #2 today wednesday thursday call in on Friday. Until close.

SO i need to get a ton of shopping done during my lunches including my grocery shopping.
Doing a Taco bar and a Hot dog bar (AGAIN) either that or pizza's i think pizzas are boring.
I need to go make my list of things i need...

So i won't be around much this week! I finished my essay i was working on I am SO GLAD i have some amazing friends who helped me through this whole thing. THANK GOD for GREAT FRIENDS!

Managed to find a few minutes today to come and catch up! Life is still crazy with the new boss and budget stuff but I think I'm over the hump now. Of course I still have a million other threads to catch up on! I really enjoyed the last few Maine updates, you guys are so much fun. A few things from your trip planning although I think most of your questions were already answered.

Day 1- We were going to start where we left off HS! Since everything i am reading is scaring me in regards to getting over to HDDR I need advice! i know i have already asked this but need a refresher.
We have a 8:30 ressie, should we leave HS about 7?
Should we go to MK first then boat it over?
Should we go to WL then boat it to Pioneer Hall?

Glad you decided not to switch to MK on this day because Saturdays are always crowded there even when it's not the tail end of a holiday week. I don't think you would have enjoyed yourself very much. I totally agree with Wood Nymphs suggestion that I quoted below for getting to the HDDR. As fun as it is to ride the boats they are sooooo slow! And the times I've used the internal buses at FW, it has been super simple.

Day 2 Epcot- Dinner at 4:20 Teppan Edo.
Do we stick around to watch illuminations OR do we hop over to HS to see the Osbourn lights? HS has EMH until 10pm.

I do think you should hop to HS for the Osborne Lights on this night. They should be less crowded than a regular night and it will give you extra time to browse through them. Plus your dinner is right near the International gate for easy exit. Looks like you have two other nights where you can catch Illuminations.

Leave HS at 7pm. HS is very close to Fort Wilderness - something like 7-8 minutes away. They will drop you at the bus depot and you will have to grab an internal bus to Pioneer Hall. There are three internal buses and they all go there, but the yellow route bus is the shortest route. The internal bus will take about 10-15 minutes to get you to Pioneer Hall. It will be easy since there are always internal buses waiting at the depot. And then when HDDR is over they have buses that will take you back to your resort or you can take the boat to MK if you plan to spend some time over there.
