Ahhh Manteno! home of famous hospital.. They have really built that place up!! and i drive past there for bourbonnais (hate spelling that) for Bears camp!!!

I have pictures of the Speed Limit signs.. ON PURPOSE.. and Suzi speedometer which does NOT say 35...
Pffft.....you guys drive 700mph on an 8 lane freeway with 700 other cars 2 inches from you, but you get on country roads and you want me to do 5mph? The speed limit was 45 and I was doing 45. Actually, I think I was doing 40.....I had it all under control
My car doesn't go 700mph suuuuzi.. they are 4 lanes (express) 4 in local on flat grounds and i can see miles ahead of me. not two-way lanes of traffic going 95 on hills... with semi's loaded with lumber going 120mph..
BUT in all fairness she did get us everywhere we need to go... and we made it.. with a lot more grey hair and mails embedded into her dash (by D)
Ok, so the 45 minute thing is so true - YES! It's a New England phenomenon!!! Pretty much everywhere is 45 minutes from everywhere else... it boggles the mind!

Man!! Ill be missing yall by a hair if plans hold out. We are at 148 days on our countdown. Our last day in the parks is sat 11/14 and then we leave Sunday morning. And we plan on spending the whole day Saturday at MK. Ive been a steady lurker of both you and D~ and thought it would be awesome to meet yall. Esp since you will be right across the bridge. We will be at POP! Better luck next time right!
D and Suzi get there before i do. we will be on Disney property on the 14th! so hopefulyl we can bump into each other!

ur nearest grocery store is 30 minutes from us..its beautiful, but can get treacherous in the winter..the kids missed over 30 days of school this winter because of snow..the buses don't run when it snows..I am loving hearing all about your trip!!!

In my defense... I live in the country... Quite rural actually... So I drive both on back country (dirt) roads and also freeways... Best of both worlds = perfect driver.

I have to agree Suzi is a great driver.. I might also be embellishing a wee bit...
For the record, both of them drive very well in their own environments. I think i could easily drive in Maine, as it is very similar to my rural 2 lane hwys in MN, however, I have no desire to drive in Chicago. And I am very thankful to both of these girls for safely chauffeuring me all over tarnation on both trips.

As for Chicago.. well we would take side streets everywhere if you were driving.. AND it would take 45 minutes..

We are in the beginning of planning a trip for this fall. I have been entering contests on line and on Wednesday, last week, I got an email from Food Network saying we won a trip to Disney! I am very excited but nervous at the same time. We even won airfare and I haven't flown since 1992! My kids have never flown. I am showing them the pictures of your flight to Maine, cool pictures.

I am so with Suzi on the right turn thing. Although I don't drive 90 miles an hour, that would be Jim. I'm mostly used to his crazy driving but when his Mom comes to visit, she sits in the front seat with her eyes glued shut and moans the entire time.

Beautiful scenery shots. I have visited Maine but I think I was around 12 at the time. We did a car tour of the New England states. I know we stayed one night in Booth Bay Harbor but that is all I remember of Maine.

Granted I do only have dogs myself but if Jim wasn't allergic I'm sure I'd have a cat or two or three also. We have over 150 kittens in the system at the shelter right now. It's been a rough kitten season this year.
Ok I don't hate cats.. but i just am not a big cat person.. they are just so standoffish. the cats who are cuddly are the ones i do like... IF i didn't have 400 dogs or a ferret i am sure we would have a cat. I feel so sorry for the little buggers in shelters.. i just want to take EVERYTHING home!!! poor things! so i keep pushing them off on my friend here at work. she hates me for it!!!
