There's no place like "home" for the holidays...*updated 3/18 p. 43 and 44*

The Wilderness Lodge looks awesome!

Glad you had fun at WCC. I would like to try that out someday.

How was your trip to NYC? You should definitely post some pictures!

The WL is really a great resort! :thumbsup2 And you should definitely try WCC. Good food and lots of fun.

NYC was great too! It was my first time going there so it was pretty exciting to see all the hustle and bustle. I'll post some pictures when I finish the TR (which will sadly be soon :sad2: ).

WL is the only resort we haven't visited. We need to remedy that on our next trip.;)

Wow, that is impressive that you've been to all the others! I'd love to do that...I think we've been to most if not all of the deluxe resorts and the All Star resorts. Wilderness Lodge is definitely worth the visit. :)

Awww your last night at MK!!! :sad1: :sad1:

I know, depressing, isn't it?! :sad2: :guilty:

Glad you liked your dinner at WCC. The WL looks so beautiful, you right it doesn't even look like FL!

Sad that it's already at your last night, but looking forward to reading about it!

Awww I'm so sad that your trip is coming to a close!:guilty:

How was NYC?! And your bday?

I'm sad too, but who knows, there may be another trip report coming soon...:confused3 popcorn:: ;) Guess you'll have to keep on reading...:teeth:

How was NYC?! And your bday?

NYC was great! I'm glad I finally got the chance to visit there and see a bunch of the sites there. My birthday was good too...we were at a couple of the games in the Big East tournament which took up a good part of the day and then we went out to dinner. But it was fun!

Ooooh sounds like you had a good time! I think you should do a mini TR so we can see all the things you did! ;) :goodvibes popcorn::

Saturday, December 20, 2008 cont'd (part 4)

After our dinner we said good-bye to the Wilderness Lodge and headed back to the Magic Kingdom. If you remember me talking about it, Emma still had not gotten her hot chocolate mixes yet. Since she really wanted them we took the monorail back to the Polynesian where we originally saw them. Success! I also got a little stuffed santa Mickey Mouse. It was actually a gift card holder but seeing as I couldn't find the actual Mickey I was looking for... Oh well, I was happy with my purchase.

When we got back to the Magic Kingdom it was all lit up. So pretty!

Our main reason for going to the MK was to see Spectromagic but we still had a couple hours before the parade. We decided to take a ride on the railroad which was interesting...it is certainly a different perspective at night! But nonetheless relaxing. We rode the train to Toontown and got off there. Then we just kind of strolled around, enjoying our final evening. We couldn't help but notice that the crowds were getting considerably larger, just like it was at Epcot earlier in the day. I think that may have been the first night the MK had extended hours for the holidays and it was PACKED! There was a tiny part of me that was glad we were leaving the next day (which is kind of funny because we have taken so many trips during busy times...I guess since our last couple have been during slower times we've been spoiled!)...but not really. ;) We headed into Fantasyland and walked past Donald's tree lot. It was adorable with the little twinkling lights on the trees.

100_2604.jpg

We continued on in Fantasyland over to Liberty Square. Emma noticed a sign outside the Hall of Presidents announcing the addition of our latest president. This isn't one of my favorite attractions (in fact, I can't even remember the last time we did it) but I may have to break down on our next trip to check it out.

100_2605.jpg

Before heading back to Main Street we went into a couple of stores in Liberty Square. Even the stores were pretty crowded so we didn't spend a whole lot of time in them. :scared1: Plus I had already bought too much stuff. ;)

I also took a couple more pictures of the dream lights. I think I prefer the pink lighting over the blue/green...it was beautiful and I am really surprised at how nice these pictures came out. They still don't compare to seeing it in person though.

So then we went back to Main Street and found a spot for Spectromagic. There was already a lot of people waiting so we ended up sitting behind another family. They were really sweet though...they were all sitting on a blanket and spread it out so we could sit on it too. It was a really nice gesture. :goodvibes While we were sitting there I couldn't get over how packed the park was. You know it is bad when the CMs have to direct traffic in and out of the park. It was crazy. I kept trying to use that as an excuse to cheer myself up (after all, we wouldn't have to deal with it!) but in reality I was pretty bummed out knowing that the end of our trip was getting closer and closer. In fact, I didn't even bother taking pictures during Spectromagic...luckily Emma did. :)

Even though I was kind of sad, I still enjoyed the parade. It really is neat and I loved seeing everyone else around us having so much fun. The one guy kept cheering for all the villains which was amusing. But the parade ended all too quickly and it was time to take that dreaded last walk out of the park (OK, I am getting depressed just writing that...  ), take that last bus ride, and begin packing up for home. :sad1:

up next: saying good-bye to the Beach Club and Disney World

aww its over already? I think you should do a mini-TR about your birthday NY trip!

The end is always so darn sad......:sad1:

No kidding! :sad2:

aww its over already? I think you should do a mini-TR about your birthday NY trip!

Yes, it is over already. :guilty: It's kind of funny though because when I was updating last night I looked at my first post of the PTR and I started it in August! It's now March...crazy! :scared1: I'll definitely do a little in-betweener TR of our visit to NYC because I have some exciting news coming very soon! :yay: :yay: :yay:

Hi again everyone!! :wave2:

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Hope everyone's having a nice day...the weather is great here today...sunny and temps in the 50s! :woohoo: Spring is just around the corner (hopefully we won't be getting anymore snowstorms now!). :thumbsup2

Anyway, my holiday trip report is sadly coming to its end. :sad2: I've got a couple more short updates coming but I have some very exciting news! I was going to wait until I was completely done with this TR but I can't not tell anyone. Who wants to take a guess at what it is? Yes, that is right...

WE ARE GOING BACK TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!!!

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3:
We've got some reservations made but that's all I'm going to say for now! :teeth: :cool2: popcorn:: Just wanted to share! :cool1:

Oooh!! That is just not nice, you have to tell us the details!! :rotfl: I can't wait to hear all about it!!

Boooo that your trip is almost over :guilty:

But yayyyyy that you're going again! Can't wait to hear the details :thumbsup2

I'm glad to hear Emma got her hot chocolates finally. Her Spectromagic pictures came out really good too. I don't blame you for not taking pictures for it though because you just wanted to take everything in on your last night.

Our departure day had come all too quickly. Because our flight wasn't until around 1:00 we got to sleep in a little bit. Let me tell you, usually I enjoy a morning when I can sleep a little longer but when you know there are tons of other people waking up and ready to start their Disney days it's kind of depressing.

Our pick-up time for the Magical Express was 10:00 so once we were dressed we decided to go outside on our patio to soak up a few more minutes of sunshine. After all, like Dad said, it was the last of the sun we'd be seeing for a while.

n20305212_34376190_5988.jpg

The weather was perfect. Sunny and in the 70s. Was there any way our flight could be cancelled so we could stay just a bit longer? Unfortunately no. Not only was I not ready to leave the weather, but I was not ready to leave our home yet either. We all loved the Beach Club so much. It was such a great resort in an awesome location. I saw a couple of CMs walking by and thought how it must be nice to work there (I had always talked about doing the College Program when I was in school but ended up not...I still sometimes regret that...).

This is random but I took a picture of the bed. You can't really tell but the bedding was Little Mermaid...it was pretty subtle but very cute. Then we had to gather up our stuff and head out to the bus stop. Because I didn't want to sit there waiting I took a few last shots of the resort:

And a couple more that Emma took:

Dad also was asked to take a quick survey rating our stay at the BCV. Well, I don't know what he said but it was great. Nice resort, great location...couldn't really ask for much more. :goodvibes

Then our Magical Express bus came to pick us up. :sad1: I have to say that our bus driver was a lot of fun which made the ride a bit more bearable. And so it was good-bye to Disney World until next time. Our flight home was pretty uneventful. We were greeted at the airport by Mom and Claire. Oh yes, and we came home to this:

It's lovely isn't it?! Quite the difference from the warmth and sun in Florida. Gotta love Wisconsin. ;)

So another trip had come and gone. As usual we had a great time and can't wait to go back. It was really fun staying at another new resort (3 DVC resorts down!) and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party was totally worth the extra money. We couldn't have asked for better weather either. The upside of coming home was that atleast we still had Christmas to look forward to. :santa:

Thanks to everyone who stuck with me through this whole thing...I've really enjoyed reliving our trip and am looking forward to telling you about our next adventure!

up next: souvenirs and a new PTR! (Woohoo! :dance3: )

Awwww, the end...:sad1:

The Beach Club looks really nice! I wanna see the Little Mermaid sheets!

I hope you don't keep us in suspense for long!
