There's no new "Cars" ride YET, correct?

I had a friend who was there Jan. 1-2 just tell me that there's "some new Cars ride in CA but the line was 1 1/2 hours long, so they didn't do it."

I think he's nuts, cause I know that Cars Land won't be opening until Summer 2012, but I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't missing anything!!

We'll be there in 6 weeks and DS is a "Cars" maniac...so I don't want to totally blow off this friend of mine...I have to check here on the awesome DISboards (with the experts!) to make sure!!

He obviously missed something or wasn't paying attention.... Don't you know, folks will get in any line they see in DL and will stand there. You could tell them anything!

No, no Cars ride. But I wonder if maybe he thought Autopia was something Cars related No idea what else he would have mistaken for a Cars ride.

That's what I was thinking too since that seems to be the longest one around these days. When we were there on Jan 2 we didn't ride it because the line was over an hour long.

Are McQueen and Mater back on display for photos in Condor flats? This is probably going out on a limb, but the line for Soarin' can get pretty long, and it's right near where McQueen and Mater are...

Really? We didn't wait more than 30 min. But then we didn't go on the 2nd, we went on the 3rd...and then we didn't go to DCA just to DL so we didn't do TSMM until the 4th.

They were there at the beginning of Jan. The Soarin' line doesn't intersect with where Mater and Lightning are at all. The Soarin' line is up next to the Soarin' building, Lightning and Mater are across the way next to the Aviator shop.

They have indeed broken ground on the Timon lot (they just shrunk it from what it used to be), this was about a month and a half ago, they rerouted the Tram as well, although it still makes two stops which seems a bit silly now. This comes from actually parking in the Timon lot and seeing it for ourselves.parking in
