There's a fire truck in our neighborhood

Sirens have been going for about 10 minutes. I ran out side to see what was the matter.


And what to my wondering eyes should appear, but Santa sitting on top of the firetruck. And I have no kids at home tonight . . .
Its neat the firefighters do this every year. They go throughout the different neighborhoods and pass out candy to the kids.

As a firefighter, I can tell you that taking Santa to the neighborhoods is one of the public relations events we do. WE have a special trailer equipped with a ligthed sleigh, reindeer, and it's own compliment of Christmas lights. Santa and his elves pass out candy canes to all of the kids, the firefighters and paramedics talk to the parents and everyone has a great time. We were out for almost three hours the other night and made 20 stops in one of our subdivisions. If you enjoy it, call the fire department and let them know - they will appreciate hearing from you!
