LOL I take the kids to school in pj's and some times barefoot too! :rotfl2: Hey my kids start school at 7:30am! :scared1:

Would you believe i lived in GA for 10 yrs and NEVER went to a waffle house?

Great report!

I sometimes take Michael to school in my pajamas but I always at leat have flipflops on.

It does always seem to get crazy the week of the trip! I like the pictures from the waffle house, especially your caption on the first one!

Lovin' it!! Can't wait for the next installment!!!

Thanks...soon!

You captured that last few days before vacation wonderfully! That's how I always feel! But, it always works out. I'm lovin' the waffle house pictures!

OMGosh I forgot about all that last minute stuff....and I was stressin out just reading about yours....but somehow you managed to get it all done. :thumbsup2 How sweet your DH is to help so much!! :lovestruc I love the Waffle House pics! Now I need me some waffles :rotfl:

It really is hectic and somehow fun...anticipation I guess! YUM Waffles!

My kids have to be there @7:35 to make it to class on time...this is 25 minutes sooner than where we lived before! So it is good we get there on time at all! And no WH? Really? Don't you just relish the thought of your children possibly hanging around early 20 year olds that are drunk and smoking?!? We are lucky...it is usually not too bad...when I was dating DH we would go there after work because we usually didn't get off of work until midnight and that would be the only place open. So we devloped a taste for it!:confused3

My feet never have to touch outside...I'm from the house to the garage to the car...my only concern comes from what happens if I break down somewhere in this trip!:lmao:
I am so on baord really loveing your TR thus far !!!

Thanks!

I will take pictures anywhere and I always have my camera with me...unless DH throws it in the trash like he did about a month before vacation!:headache:

I certainly hope that was an accident!!! :lmao: I know DBF has probably wanted to do the same with my camera but make it look like an accident! ;)

Well, since I live in an apartment I have to walk outside. But living in Atlanta (where rush hour traffic literally lasts 24/7) I am too afraid of being in some sort of fender bender to not wear my shoes.

LOL about the WH comment! We always said we have to try it and just never did.

We really did a good job of getting up early and on the road. It always helps to stay somewhere that has a free breakfast! LOVE IT!

Oh…good thing to know when staying at Comfort Inn…
I did not unpack everything here and just used the hotel shampoo and conditioner…it was not conditioner…it was hand cream!!!!:scared1: Now I had gunk in my hair and only a small amount of shampoo…thank goodness I had just cut my hair off! So for your own good…read the bottles!

As soon as we got on the interstate we were in construction.

Side note…I really am scared of traveling on the interstate. The worst interstate in my book is I-95. If you live in NC you know you hear all the time about the horrible wrecks. It is a crazy fear, I know…but worse than that…I hate bridges! Hate them…hate them…hate them! I will panic if the bridge is too old or over water. Oh, hate water…SCARED to death…can’t swim…getting better these days, but don’t combine bridges and water…it has been know to push me to tears!

So, you know this part if you have traveled I-95 from Darien to the Florida border. AAAHHH!!! How many bridges can one state have that looks like they are falling apart…they are fixing them…construction remember? (Just so you don’t think I’m busting on GA…the worst bridge I have ever traveled on is in NC, in my town. Go thru NC on I-85 and you get to go over the Yadkin River bridge ‘o death!)

Love this sign!

We arrived FINALLY in FL to be greeted by the town of bridges, aka Jacksonville. Will this ever end?

Should not complain, traffic was not bad and DH is a great driver.

Next stop…the ultimate redneck stop…DAYTONA USA!!!!

Okay, we are from the heart of racing in NC. I LOVE me some Jimmie Johnson!!!!:lovestruc

Moonk loves Kasey Kahne. :cloud9:
Here she is on last year’s vacation where I surprised her with him…he is a cutie! (She wore the shirt she wanted signed so he HAD to touch her!:rotfl: )

Big Boy pulls for Elliot Sadler, Bits goes back and forth between Mark Martin and Kyle Bush ( he likes him some M&M‘s!). DH, that’s a hard one for him…he was a long time Rusty Wallace fan, so I’m not sure who he is pulling for these days…most of the time he cheers for our drivers.

We stopped, we looked, we sweated…kinda looks a lot like Lowe’s Motor Speedway…hmmm…maybe that was a waste…have to try it again later when Jimmie is winning a race there!

Here's a few shots...
You ever want to feel really fat? NO? Me either...get in the last car to go thru the tunnel and it will scape the bottom going in! Great...

Moonk said these were a great deal at only $5 each...she wanted one but I told here that they were not Kasey's!:lmao:

Look... Jimmie's trophy...for two year!!!:cool1: OOPS! My redneck is showing!

My crew asking if it was time to go yet! "Mom, it's hot!!!!"

DH only wanted to know if Hooter’s is a part of the tour…I’m pretty sure I gave him a look with that question!

We loaded back up and headed towards Lake Buena Vista to meet my parents.

Look at you, at a theme park already and you haven't even made it to Disney yet! ;)

I HATE to drive over bridges, too. I also don't like to drive alongside water, even a little creek, if there is no barrier. I do like to swim, so I don't have that added fear. I'm just afraid my car will go in the water and I won't be able to get myself and the kids out. I actually play that scenario over in my head quite often. How do I unbuckle the kids, hold onto them, get the door/window open and then swim to safety. I know...I'm disturbed.

Love that Moonk wanted to buy tires! :rotfl:

The Hooters comment is SOO something Henry would say!

Love your trip report! :rotfl: about the bridges...The whole time I am thinking about the lovely bridge over the yadkin. I love bridges but I am terrified of that bridge over the yadkin. Not to mention it is one of NC worst bridges!!!!

Dh went to Daytona years ago but I have never been. Maybe it would be a good stop this year. We pull for Jeff Burton. My dh loves racing. I like a race if I am at it.

You should have bought a tire!!! That would have been cool!

Your story about using hand cream made me think of the time my dad used bar soap to wash his hair at a hotel and had little white flakes of soap on his hair for the next 2 days. :lmao:

I don't like Nascar at all, but Kasey Kahne (probably spelled wrong) is cute!!

I totally do the same thing...so bad that my BFF gave me this tool several years ago that will cut the seatbelt straps and has a point on the end to break the glass with. I keep it with me at all times! The bad part is I have considered trying to find self inflating life jackets to keep in the van since I can't swim! Talk abaout disturbed!!!

I really would think twice about stopping at Daytona. It was almost $100 for us to get in!:scared1: And I really did not think it was worth it. They did not drive us on the track like it shows in the pictures...the inside part was okay at best and the movie was really too long...funny in parts...but too long!

DH would have bought the tire I think if we had room and didn't have to keep up with it for a week...hey we could have had the coolest decorated window at POP!!!:lmao:

Your poor Dad! I bet his head was itchy!

You spelled it perfectly!

We arrived at the hotel at 3:15, the same time my parents did! We really didn’t plan it, scary! We stayed off site the first night at the Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista. Cheaper that way.

We ate dinner at CiCi’s around 4:30.

See...told you I take pictures anywhere!!!

One of Bits few meals this week...picky kid!:headache:
P6140126_126_124.jpg

On the way out, DH spotted another Hooter's..."Wait, maybe the tour was supposed to stop there?" :sad2: Silly man...he is going to have a bad week at this pace!

Then we headed out to DTD to do some shopping…Hey, don’t like clothes shopping, but love me some Disney shopping!

I am however a shopper with a purpose and on a budget. I told the kids right off the bat…”don’t beg for ANYTHING! We are going for autograph pens and that is it!”

We got to DTD around 6:30...okay I know bad timing…I just could not wait to get into something Disney! Parking was a nightmare! I had suggested we all ride in our van, but nobody listens to me!:headache: :headache: Luckily we parked the van pretty quick. My parents were somewhere…but where. We decided to just walk across the lot when we were almost run over by my Dad…this wonderful lady and her friend asked if they could hold her space for them. AAHHH! Disney Magic! Love it! I yelled across the parking lot to the lady THANK YOU!!! DH just looked at me.:sad2:

We walked around the first corner and look who we saw!
P6140129_129_127.jpg

The kids did the first bit of begging...I said NO toys! Pens ONLY!
P6140130_130_128.jpg

DH and Bits made our first Disney smooshed penny...that's what we call them! We have been collecting for years from all of our vacations and proudly display in a frame in our house.

Then we did some more walking around where Memaw annouced that she was tired....it is day 1/2 and she was already tired...I started to worry! DH decided we should head back to the hotel to get an early start, I agreed and we left...but not before this great spot!

P6140134_134_132.jpg

We got back to the hotel and I laid everything out for the next morning, gave the kids baths, packed all other stuff back up and gave it to DH to put in the van.

I was sooo excited because this would be the first customs for the kids. I picked up Moonk's skirt and realized I had not sewn the elastic!!!! CRAAAAAAAAP!!! What was I going to do? Panic? I had forgotten to pack a needle and thread! AAAAHHHH!

Wait...Memaw was here...she ALWAYS has a sewing kit! You know the kind you get in hotels! My Dad travels all week and he just collects stuff from hotels for "just in case moments" like this one! Finally, I knew why we had brought them!:lmao:

I'm not sure how much I really slept that night. I was excited and that whole week before stuff was kicking in...the worrying.

We were going to the place formerly know as MGM for our first day. This was nor apart of the original plan until I found out this was the ONLY place Big Boy could see Little Einsteins...his heroes! So, I was worried that I did not know enough about the park for it to be a succesful day. So I layed there worried. :scared: Silly I know!

loving your report so far, cant wait to read more :goodvibes

Great update! We always do DTD the first night too. I can't see paying to go in a park for a few hours...

We love the pooh spot picture. Get it every year. Your dh is funny. Hooters is all he wants!

I forgot to tell you that your children are so sweet. I told my dh how Bits kept kissing me. It was so cute!

Can't wait till you update with pics from the parks!!!!
