We live in a small town in SC. There have been 5 shootings in 5 days. Four people are dead. Everyone is on edge! The sheriff just said law enforcement is considering it a serial killer.

People are watering their flowers with a hose in one and a gun in the other. I was in the shower and my dog began to bark and I jumped out wet with shampoo in my hair to check my house. Thankfully it was nothing. I had planned on working in my garden

All the shootings have been in broad daylight. Please pray for us in Cherokee County, South Carolina.

I just saw this on Fox News like 10 minutes ago...the Sheriff was saying they think it's probably someone local. Scary stuff.

Hope they catch this guy soon. Stay safe. Be careful. Praying no one else gets hurt.

Serial killers stalk their victims for months/weeks. Its always good as a matter of safety to change up your routines driving home/to work. Do different things.

I haven't heard about this story but from what you've said it reminds me of those sniper killers in the Washington DC area back in 2002. That was a scary situation as well. I can't imagine living in fear like that. Hope they catch him soon. Take care of yourself.

That's what it reminds me of as well (although it might scare me even more because it is happening in one small town instead of an area and it seems that the killer is someone who lives in the town so he probably already has his victims picked out. The killings in the DC area were not actually considered a serial killings, but a killing spree.) It has to be very scary. Be careful.

Prayers to the people in Gaffney that this individual(s) are caught SOON. My dad was born and raised in Gaffney and we still have family there. I just can't believe something like this would happen there.

I have spent the day hanging around the house like a shut-in. I had big plans to work in my yard, but I decided I did not want to be outside like a target. The sheriff says the guy is unpredictable. Tonight we have a huge fireworks show at the Cowpens Battlefield. We go every year. A band plays and it really makes the 4th of July for me. This year we are skipping it. I really hate knowing there is a serial killer and it is starting to make my tummy hurt.

I just read the article and I'd be going crazy. Can you leave town or go stay with relatives? Whoever this is is being very reckless and will probably be caught quickly.

I'm really sorry. This is a really tough situation. You feel like you have no control. Especially since there doesn't seem to be any pattern for you to use.

I cannot wait for this to be over. The randomness of his acts - victims of all ages - and no connection between the victims makes it particularly scary. If I saw a gray or champagne colored Ford explorer right now, I would have a heart attack. To think that he killed the victims in their own homes and place of business is horrible.

I live not far from where the Colonial Parkway murders happened, a little over 20 years ago. Still unsolved. I still get the skeeves when I go on the parkway.

DH and I are headed to ATL this weekend from Charlotte, we usually stop for breakfast at Waffle House in Gaffney, I think our plans will be changed for tomorrow. I hope they catch the person before anyone else gets hurt.
