Please help! I've been stalking the site for ADRs since 7:30 am and I got bupkis! Been chasing Akershus, BOG, Chef Mickeys/Crystal Palace, Fantasmic DP, and a very aspirational CRT for months now. I'm 23 days out and am feeling hopeless (although I did snag a few good ones too).

What is the best strategy to catch the elusive ADR? My methods are clearly not working and I'm ready to give up :( I feel like I spend every free moment searching for ressies, and when I'm ready to quit I'll see a random Akershus pop up for a different date/time than I need.

What has worked for you (besides booking at 180 days)? :confused3

Stalk the cancellation threads. I got the exact reservation I was looking for just last week for my stay in 2 weeks.

Other than that, keep trying. I've also had really good luck getting what I wanted the day before - including BoG and Ohana. People cancel last minute to avoid no show fees.

Being a pest and calling the dinning line every morning, afternoon and evening, till i get what I wanted. ;)

:duck::duck::duck::duck:

Yes I must admit I have done this several times to get ADR that I wanted. It usually works out for me. plus I enjoy the hunt to get them.

good luck don't give up

Whenever i check, out of curiosity, what's available the evening I'm signing on to do my daily searches for my trip in December, I always see BETTER reservations available than the ones I am looking for in December. For example, if I wanted to eat TONIGHT I could eat at 'Ohana (can't find for my entire December trip) or have lunch at... Akershus!

So. You're going to need to leave some things to chance. People get in that deadline window to drop reservations and they start opening up like crazy. If you're a planner like me, it will drive you nuts. But... I think you'll have success. I have my word document calendar and those I'm going to snag when it gets w/in the 48 hours are in light gray (Lol) but I am counting on them. :)

Good luck.

I wish I had good advise, but you just have to keep looking. I was lucky enough to get most of what I was looking for early on. I have since made about 10 changes as plans have changed and better options have become available. I made my last change just Firday night when I came across a park closing yak and yeti ADR I have been on the hunt for! I am just under 20 days and although I could live with the ADRs I have I would still love to somehow come across a prepark CP ADR and move our Ohana breakfast by one day....Don't give up.

I've found that things really open up 1-2 days before. I know that is stressful for people like myself who want to plan ahead, but unfortunately with the cancellation penalty not hitting until the day before, many people will wait that long to cancel. I was finding almost nothing for weeks before our October trip (we booked it only a couple months out) but suddenly the day before we left, I was able to get BoG, and saw a bunch of other stuff pop up too. So definitely check hard in those last couple of days!

My strategy?

LOL, to paraphrase a popular Disney Heroine.... Let it go.

Seriously. none of the restaurants are worth spending that much time and frustration trying to book.

Now I only did BOG at lunch but it was "meh" at best. I really do wish they would allow folks to peek inside, that would probably free up a ton of adr's because most folks may just want to see what it looks like.
The only advantage to the fantasmic DP is that you get in early for Fantasmic. Now during the high season, that can be important but if you're going in a few weeks the crowd level maybe such that you really don't need to worry about being sold out (I don't know, I've never been during mid November)

I saw a few good ones today for December like Akershus but they were for days I was not at EPCOT.

I agree with this. Unfortunately, people hold onto ressies until the last minute. We've lucked out the day of just by checking the website before we hit the park in the mornings. I wish you the best of luck finding the ADRs you're looking for!
