There are suddenly a bunch of 7DMT FP+ available for November

IMO the interactive cues have been a complete waste of money. Out of the whole SB line there are very few guests who are able to participate in these games. The rest of the line gets to stand there and watch, not very entertaining. Also the people that are participating, hold up the line while they complete their game. I know this isn't a big deal, but when you're behind these people there's a perception that they're delaying your ability to get on the attraction. I still can't figure out why the disney park execs thought this would be a great idea.

I agree but they spent the money on them.

And the hand wringing and looking into the glass ball trying to second guess why they're doing what, serves what purpose?

Personally, I don't see anything to lead me to believe they're doing this for anything other than crowd levels- unless you base the second guessing of this meaning they're going to all fp+ on the huge, baseless suggestion that they ever considered doing it.

IMO most of the paranoia that's on the dis is based on speculation and guessing. This is not the first time they released extra fp+'s and the sky didn't fall then either.

It's just the constant negative drumbeat get old after a while.

What purpose does it serve? Preparedness.

Prepared? In what way can you prepare? If you have a trip scheduled for November and they suddenly go to all fp+ there's nothing you can do to be "prepared".

Stocking up on water and canned goods isn't going to help you.

Seriously, a lot of people are pretty pleased they were able to get a difficult to get fp+- even within 30 days. How about we just let them enjoy it instead of saying---oh, but wait..there has to be something horrible behind this..just you wait and see. This might be just the kind of thing other posters are talking about with all the griping and complaining. Just sayin'...gripe when there's a reason. Disney has given us enough real stuff, we don't have to create any.

The people who have experienced a FP only experiment before have told us: It translates to much longer waits for FP holders. In that case, their advice is to book the FP as early as possible.

For me, it's good to know this *may* happen, and it's good to plan ahead and make the FP for as early as possible (which I have done because this directly affects my upcoming trip).

Knowing this is a possibility ahead of time will also help with my mindframe. I won't freak out if this happens because I know it's a real possibility. We'll be mentally prepared for it.

If it helps me to know this information and/or it helps someone else, what's it to you?

Maybe if more guests "freak out" Disney will start to question their operating procedures. Maybe just a temper tantrum?? Pleeeaase!! :goodvibes

If they do go FP+ only (which I don't think they will), they would have to run the line through the standby line because the FP line space is very short.

I think now that it has been open a few months they are adjusting capacity numbers. As I mentioned early, I got on very quick. They could probably double the number of FP+ available and still only have a 10 min wait.

Even if this isn't a FP+ only test then it could still be a More FP+ Issued test which could mean longer lines for both FP+ and standby. FP+ lines because there could be more people in the FP+ line and standby because those in standby would have to wait longer for the FP+ people to go through first.

However I don't pretend to know what this is all about so I won't be admitting wrong or right. ;)

Speaking of tests. Is the test phase that everyone spoke of originally for fast pass over or is that still running? :)

I agree with your hypothesis? Or is it assumptions? Either way, I think the wait for both FP+ and SB will increase. I don't think I can use my past experience with FP+ to predict how the increased FP's will affect what happens in the parks.

Everyone is focused on FP's for 7DMT and A & E, but I'm wondering if the amount of FP's has been increased for all attractions.

That's sort of what I feel they are up to.

All the algorithms and theories aside, I am just happy to have snagged a fp+ today for my birthday in 3 weeks! Also snagged a fp+ last week for BOG lunch!!!! My birthday is gonna rock!!!! Wanted to do 7DMT soooooo badly and didn't want to waste precious MVMCP time on the ride

That's really all that matters, isn't it? Have a great time on your birthday! We're just in the beginnings of planning our next trip and already can't wait to get back. Hopefully by then, they'll have figured things out a bit better.

We were never a legacy fast pass fakily...so not that bummed about fast pass plus. We tend to have craxy amazing times at every Disney trip. Only had 2 bad experiences....one exiting "World of Color" at Disneyland snd an unbearable bus mob scene at DTD, so I am just chillin and counting the days until the trip. For me, if I dwell on the negative, thsts all I get. I've been sble to get every fsst pass plus and ADR I've wanted with a minimum of work, I got a $75 a night credit at WL when everyone else got $50 due to the pool construction, andI am happy. I hope everyone has a great trip!!!

I find that to be very true for us as well. Not every trip has been perfect every moment, but WDW is still the best vacation experience for us. Nothing else compares.

We had a pretty bad experience at World of Color on our DL trip too! It hadn't been open long, don't know how it is now, but wow- that was a mess. It's an amazing show though.

If you've never stayed at WL, it's wondeful! We stayed there for our Christmas trip years ago- loved everything about it. Enjoy!

Of course there is going to be a test...I'm sick and tired of disney apologists like you trying to make it seem like disney is doing a great job with this new fp+. People are paying a lot of money to go to a park, hoping to get a 7dmt ride and not being able to cuz it's fp only are going to be upset. Especially with all the commercials showing the ride as a must do. Some people save for years and maybe not doing the ride may not literally ruin their trip, they will feel as if they got a raw deal and that's not right. So let disney fight their own battles and as soon as test starts I will be waiting for you to say you were wrong. When the test starts. In November.

And you're basing this on what, exactly? It's all conjecture. No facts. The only "fact" is that they released more FPs. That's all we know for certain. The WHY behind it is anyone's guess.

Could be that the data is showing FP+ are getting on the ride in say 3 minutes and they may be testing if say an 6 or 8 minute wait is "acceptable" to individuals with FP+. IF that is the case and the extra wait is "tolerable" to individuals we may not even know. I do not have the math but I have seen numerous post that have shown standby wait times for 7DMT were often 5 to minutes shorter than posted. The extra FP+ may balnce this out.
Right now I am just happy for the individuals that got an early Christmas present that were not able to get one and now are able to get one.

Wanted to say thanks to OP for this thread. I was able to capture four (4) tix to SDMT on our ONLY day at the MK next month!

Yay to OP!

When we were there a few weeks ago, we got into a discussing while we waited in line how strange it was that there were no fastpasses for 7DMT. We did see people with some kind of paper FP (not sure what those are). My 11 year old then asked me if maybe Disney was giving out FP+ for that ride to the press and other people with 'connections' because it was a 'new' ride (the people we saw were nicer dressed than most of the guests), which is why there weren't any left for other people. Not sure if that was true, but it sort of would make sense why now there seems like there are some available. :confused3

I got them for a trip two weeks after it opened and I am neither press nor celebrity.

Just wondering if anyone at WDW has seen any tests, long lines or anything to indicate the reason for that additional allocation of fp+'s for November?

As I recall, the release started 11/3?

Curious as to how it looks in the parks now.
