We need to make it out to Rafiki's planet watch on our next trip, I don't think DS9 has ever been out there! In fact, I'm pretty sure the last time we went out, Jiminy Cricket was still meeting there......which was really cool but had to be 2010 or 2011

I did see one in the shade and asked if she knew where I could have my picture taken, and she offered to take it! I’m so happy with how they came out!

I love the Chip pics!!! Shannon likely won't return from WDW if we don't manage to get some Lumiere PP (um, MM??? I know they have changed it ) pictures!

Okay, this picture is so cute. And when I saw the FG, I kept thinking, Wow, that FG has been there forever. I have seen her in so many TRs, and I think we have met her on more than one trip. But then I went back to a couple years' of our trip photos, and I'm no longer so sure. I think they just do an AMAZING job with the FG - unless you look at photos side-by-side, you would never see a difference in them. I mean FG's friends..... Yikes.

I was too hot to go join in the dance party but I was happy to see the floats (for what would be the last time…RIP Move It Shake It Celebrate It).

Saying goodbye to the Magic Kingdom is the worst, 0/10, would not recommend.

*sigh* It is pretty darn sad. But you don't have to be sad at all, since you will be LIVING THERE!!!!

Oh my! That must have been a terrible feeling. I predict that I will feel "not very Everest-y" if Willow manages to drag me on single-rider as many times as I think she's secretly planning. It will be like the Day of Thirteen ToT Rides.......

We had some time to kill before the ASL Finding Nemo, the Musical at 1:00 so we decided to take the train out to Rafiki’s Planet Watch. We hadn’t been out there in so long that Kylie didn’t even remember it.

I can see that. We have still never made it out there for a first visit!

The girls met Chip and Dale outside then headed inside and met Rafiki.

Um, if that is where the 'monks are meeting now, maybe we'll finally take that train.....

I stopped in the ladies room before we left, where they had piped in shrieking bird noises which were pretty scary. I have a thing about swarming birds so it was certainly no relaxing experience.

I don't have a thing about swarming birds. I have a thing about birds. Full stop. This would be very unpleasant for me.

And yet I'm intrigued with the bird show. I wonder if I could convince anyone in our group this summer to stop for that.

It turns out she was hard of hearing, so she moved down to the ASL section to sit with us. She signed a bunch with Kylie and at the end asked if she could meet up with us at the Lion King show later.

Anytime one can get on Everest twice in a row with 5 minute wait is a pretty good start to the day

Bummer about the safari though - guess it was just too hot ... I mean, I don't think I've ever read a report that didn't at least include a number of giraffes

That's cool they ran into that other guest who was hard of hearing ... or, should I say, cool for that guest to run into your family as she was able to adjust and sit in the ASL section - and fun that she wanted to meet up at FotLK as well ... Disney can make fast friends

Hahaha. While personally I prefer meeting Aladdin, I understand that there's a certain appeal to meeting Jasmine.

It's so weird. Sometimes there are photographers everywhere, and sometimes you really have to look. Thankfully you got what you were looking for and awwwww, Chip.

It was a brutally hot day, so I understand that the Photopass photographers were hiding, but I'm very glad I found one to do the magic shots!

Why Disney... WHY????????? Why did you do that to me???? I've been good... mostly!!

I know, keep moving forward and all that, but after seeing videos of the new version, I regret not sticking around for the dance party.

Yeah, this weekend my family went to NYC and went to a barbecue place. Mom and Ky got barbecue chicken and pulled pork, while Dad got...a salad.

Hi everyone! Sorry for the lack of updates. Turns out being a senior about to graduate college is a LOT busier than I anticipated. Since finals and graduation itself are approaching RAPIDLY, I'm going to knock out the last three official updates and do a wrap-up sometime in the next few weeks. Thanks so much for reading along for the past 9 months or so, and enjoy the finale!

Chapter 46: Circle of Life

I took the bus over to Animal Kingdom and texted my family, who had just gone in to see Finding Nemo interpreted. On my way over there, I stopped to get a frozen Coke because as you probably deduced, it was HOT. Unfortunately the frozen Coke machine was broken so I moseyed my way to Dinoland.

I caught up with my family right after the show, and they hadn’t eaten lunch yet, so we went to Pizzafari! I just had a slice of my mom’s cheese pizza since I had eaten at MK.

After lunch we briefly parted ways.

Mom: Ky, Emily and I went to meet Safari Minnie and Mickey. I loved Minnie’s shoes, still fashionable even on safari.

We found a FP+ kiosk because Emily wanted to try Kali so we tried for a 4th FP+ but nothing was available. They found them for Primeval Whirl so they rode that. Then we went back to the FP+ kiosk to try for 1 or 2 FP+’s instead of all of us and we were able to get them for Ky and Emily for 4:30, which would work out right after the Lion King show.

Meanwhile, Dad and I did Kali River Rapids! We actually got stopped for a bit on the top of the hill, and we were just baking in direct sunlight. I was actually praying to get soaked because it would cool me off a bit. We got pleasantly splashed so I enjoyed it overall.

After our ride, I went back to the frozen Coke place, and the machine was working! It was delicious. With this, I had had all my favorite Disney snacks, so it was OK to go home the next day.

We decided to head back to Pizzafari to wait for Mom, Ky, and Em because no way were we wandering around in the blazing heat. Get us to the AC!!!

Once the girls found us, we headed over to Festival of the Lion King to see it interpreted. It was super fun and a great last attraction for me!

After that, Mom and I went over to the photo center while Dad, Em, and Ky headed to Kali River Rapids (Ky didn’t want to do it but Emily wanted to). We had an issue with some of our Memory Maker pictures not showing up on the site, and since I had a ton of solo pics from my day at MK I wanted to make sure they showed up in the Memory Maker account! We had to link our bands again, but it was really easy and the CM was great. He told us that he went to Diagon Alley for a soft opening and walked right on to the Gringotts ride. I had been seeing five hour waits on Twitter so he was very happy he didn’t have to wait!

Note from my mom: The CM was nice and got Courtney’s band linked up to mine and told us that when we were at the GF, we should go to the second floor and there was a PP desk there with a guy who could link everyone else’s bands to my account as well. So my advice to anyone with a group with the MM, make sure to check before you leave that all your pictures are there.

In a move that surprises absolutely no one I went over to Guest Relations and pin traded. Then we grabbed the car and pulled it up closer to the entrance so Ky, Em, and Dad didn’t have to walk as far.

Chapter 47: 1900 Park Fare

Next stop was the GRAND FLORIDIAN!

Thank you for being here today!

I walked right into the Grand Floridian and the band was playing “A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes.” It made me SO happy since that song was kind of following me around this trip! It sounded beautiful and I was so happy to hear it.

We checked in for our dinner at…1900 Park Fare. Now, I can’t say I’m the biggest fan of this restaurant. You can read all about that here. I vowed never to set foot in this restaurant again, BUT it was Kylie’s birthday trip and she wanted to go here, so we did.

We waited in the lobby for a bit.

Soon enough our buzzer went off and we were seated by our waitress, Steph. She was absolutely awesome and totally made up for the service we had last time we were there.

I had a beautiful and delicious strawberry lemonade!

Kylie had pomegranate lemonade and really enjoyed it.

FOOOOOOOD. The pot stickers and rice were REALLY good.

Lady Tremaine was our first visitor! She wanted to know why I was dressed like a mouse, so I explained, “Well, it was all started by a mouse.” She looked SO confused. “What was all started by a mouse?” I gestured around the restaurant. “This was all built by a mouse?!” I can tell she did not believe me. Someone’s got to get over to One Man’s Dream.

Prince Charming came over next. He loved the pictures in the autograph book and noted that he was in his blue outfit like he wore on his wedding day.

I think we make a nice couple. He's no Aladdin or Green Army Man, but he'll do.

Actually, do you guys want to know my biggest Disney crush? Years ago at Hollywood Studios where Jack Sparrow was, they had a Narnia experience where you could meet Prince Caspian. And oh man. I was in LOVE with him. And my dad informed him of that. And Prince Caspian said we could get married and I could be queen. If any of you do not know who Prince Caspian is, please let me know and I'll dig up the meet and greet pic.

Cinderella was next and while her voice was quiet, she was very chatty! She said we were all beautiful princesses and wanted to know if a Fairy Godmother made our outfits. She also said that Mom must have had a magic wand to make the autograph books.

Chapter 48: A Party In A Dress

Anastasia was next. We LOVE the stepsisters so we immediately started cheering when she came over. She said, “I’m a party in a dress!” She was not happy that she wasn’t wearing a crown in her picture in the autograph book, so she drew one on.

Drizella was our last visitor. She asked us to tell her what didn’t impress us about Cinderella. We said that she was really quiet, and Drizella said that was from talking to mice all the time. She also asked how we felt about cats because she has a cat.

I said I wanted my own picture, and Drizella said, “I wouldn’t want a picture with my sister either!”

After that my mom went back up to the buffet and when she came back she was cracking up. The woman in front of us was telling her son that he had to have some turkey, and my mom explained that it was actually ham and not turkey on the buffet. The woman said, “Oh, right. Wrong bird.”

…

Mom decided not to explain where ham comes from.

DANCING!

DESSERT!

We browsed some gift shops before heading back to our room to pack. SAD FACE. CRYING EMOJI.

Chapter 49: The Least Magical Update

The good news was we got to sleep in this morning. The bad news was we were leaving. We finished packing up the room, took down all the decorations, and headed to the food court.

The accumulation of birthday swag and towel animals:

The food court was an absolute ZOO. I’m so glad that most of the time we go so early because it’s much more pleasant with less people. The CM who rang us up said that the other night a whole tour group came in 5 minutes before closing to order meals. So much respect for the CMs.

After breakfast, we took some pictures around Pop!

In the car on the way to the airport, I realized that I had forgotten to buy a souvenir—a friend of mine asked me to pick up a Stitch for her sister. Luckily, the Disney store at the airport had it! Huge sigh of relief.

Duffy was excited for his first flight even though it meant leaving Disney.

Dad was ready to go home.

The flight home left on time and was far less eventful than our first flight. I watched more Food Network I’m pretty sure.

We drove back to our house and Emily’s dad picked her up. It was so weird not having her around after a week together! But all good things must come to an end, and so the Sweet And Sassy 16 Trip was over.

I have to admit, when I saw Safari Mickey & Minnie, I didn't pay attention to Minnie's shoes ... they're super cute!

I did not know that there was a PP desk at GF ... that's actually a really good thing to know. And we always check at the end of the trip to make sure our pictures are all there (although lately we've been looking online from our phones every night just to see if they're all there).

I love all the 1900 Park Fare pics! I'm glad you had a better experience than last time.

I LOOOOOVE Frozen Cokes at Disney. Pop used to have a Frozen coke machine that I would visit many times during our trips when suddenly it was almost always out of order and on our last trip, completely gone. Seriously, such sadness.

Can't believe the trip is over. Sigh. When do you move in for your DCP? I can't wait

While nothing could come close to that for me...
I LOVE Aladdin and get all kinds of starry eyed meeting him.
So I was a bit disappointed.

You grab him and I'll grab her and we'll both head off in different directions.
They'll never notice until it's too late!

I'm not a huge fan of Rice Krispies in my everyday life, but Disney rice krispies are the BEST. I like how they're generally coated in frosting or chocolate.

When people ask me, "Hey Courtney, what are you doing for Disney?" I'll just tell them I have to convince people to stay seated and put away their selfie sticks.
