"There’s NO Sleeping in Disney!” SURPRISE - The Frumps Are Back Again! UPDATE 1/13

Hi there! I'm joining in a little late, but I went back and read all of it last night :surfweb: Looks good so far....can't wait to read more. I'm pretty new at this, so they won't let me cut and paste and link anything, but I love all your pictures! I am planning my first trip in 20 years right now! Can't wait. I've never stayed onsite before and my DH & DS5 have never been at all. :yay:

Looks like you had a fun Halloween weekend! I have a question though... how do you pronounce Halloween? I put an emphasis on the A too, I thought that was normal! Haha do you say it like, I'm walking down the hall- oween? :lmao:
Yeah... that muffin DOES look really good. YUMMY.
Sounds like yall were having fun at Epcot, even though Kristen was forgetful. Hahaha. That cast member sounds awesome! (P.S. That Kardashian thing... so funny. There was a trending topic on twitter that said #thingslongerthankimsmarriage and some of the responses were HILARIOUS.)

OH and I have to say... the picture where you're holding the fastpasses is like a PERFECT representation of Future World! Test Track and Soarin' fastpasses and your seagull nail for the Seas! So awesome!

I'm so glad you're here! I hope you continue to enjoy!
P.S. I LOVE all of the graphics you have in your signature! Very cool!

Thanks...I have an addiction to glitter! Cuz it's uber cool! :cool2:

Oh, and I tend to overuse the exclamation point, too!!

(It's a sickness!) :rotfl:

Hold up. Halloween isn't pronounced with emphasis on the A? How the heck is it supposed to be pronounced? Holloween? I feel like this is Freshman year of college all over again. People were fascinated/annoyed by my Cleveland accent. They made me say all sorts of weird words just to laugh at how I said them. :rotfl: I didn't even know I had an accent until then.

Anyway, your candy corn nails are adorable and I'm glad you had a fun weekend. Pumpkin mousse sounds AMAZING.

Kudos for getting up and going to church. A 6:10 wake-up call? That's way too early for me.

A 70 minute line for Test Track a little after 10 AM? Whaaaaa? Were there EMH that morning?

Yay for FPs! :yay: Chatting up the CMs often comes in handy.

Oh, you rule-breakers. I bet you didn't supervise your children either. ;)

My dad has always wanted to get one of the mini monorails to put under our Christmas tree. One of these years, maybe he will. :goodvibes

Awh I love your halloween nails! Such a good idea! Although we dont have candy corn here so the idea might be lost on most people.
That's rad you got to church, I always plan to go and somehow never get there. Next trip hopefully!
Even though it's sad leaving property you got to drive under the arch again which is the best feeling! Hoorayyy!
That is a very good looking muffin picture haha :thumbsup2
Surprise fast passes are the best! Seriously make everyones day! :goodvibes
I love the Test Track photo....Kristen's mum is doing a good job looking concerned about you guys.
So its a bit off topic but all this talk of surprising in this TR had me thinking about how much fun it is and how we don't get to surprise people enough.
So yesterday it was my bosses birthday so me and my co-worker snuck in on the weekend and completely filled her office with balloons...filled it... literally to the roof! And because I work in a performing arts institute there are instruments all through our building so we moved them all into her room so we could have people play music. Then got everyone to dress up in their Halloween costumes, buy heaps of food and come early and hide.
She was SO surprised and so happy! It was a hit and so much fun!
Its not super ellaborate or anything like yours, but you've totally made me want to plan a bunch of surprises now. So fun! :goodvibes

Thank you! Aww you don't!? That stinks! Come to think of it... I didn't get to eat ANY candy corn this year! How sad.
Haha I understand how you feel. That was the first time I ever went to church while I was in Disney.. which is kind of sad. I should go to confession.
Yeah, going back under the arch made me all excited all over again!
I'm so glad you agree about the muffin :rotfl:
Seriously! What a nice surprise!
And haha yeah she was into it! It would have been such a great picture if everyone posed! Next time I'm with a big group I'll have to make that happen!
That is SUCH a cute surprise! I love hearing about stuff like that! Oh my gosh I bet she absolutely LOVED it! I am always the surpriser, so I know how you feel! Just the reaction of the people is so worth it... it makes me feel so good inside :goodvibes I'm sure you felt the same way! Very nice!

Enjoyed the update! Love how you do your nails - there is something so adorable about candy corn.
Hats off to you girls for going to church at Disney. I am very bad about going to church on vacation. When we go to Palm Beach, FL at Christmas, I do go to Mass then. There is something so pretty about churches surrounded by palm trees.

How great that you got the test track fastpasses! I keep hearing the rumours that it will be closed for refurbishment next year and I'm worried about it. It's my boys 2nd favorite ride after Rock 'n Rollercoaster.

Thank you! And aww thanks! I know, it's just really cute candy
Oh thanks haha. I usually am, but we worked it in this time! Yeah, going to a church with Palm Trees is definitely beautiful! I'm sure my family will be going on Christmas when we are there. Speaking of which 50 DAYS TO GO! No big deal
It was awesome! And oh boy, really!? I haven't even heard about that. I guess we'll see what happens!

Hey, there! Just caught up with your TR! It looks like you guys had an absolute blast!! Your nails looked super cute for Halloween! Very nice touch! I completely know what you mean about being so tired yesterday! I was out at 9:00 last night! haha That's awesome that you guys made it to Church! Our travel days are usually on Sundays, they were last time, and are this time, too! So it's hard to get to Church when that happens!lol Kristin sounds like me with losing things! But atleast everything was still there when she went back for it! Gotta love Disney! Soarin and TT FP's?! That is very cool! Sounds like a wonderful day at EPCOT! Can't wait to read more!

Hooray! I'm glad you're all caught up! We had SO much fun!
I'm glad you liked my nails hehe :)
Oh good I wasn't the only one who was exhausted!
Yeah, that's very understandable!
Hahaha thank GOD everything was still there! That could have been a mess.
Yes, we were masters that day gettin' all of our fastpasses! Very successful!
Thanks for reading!

Cute Halloween costumes! I was totally a loser this year and didn't go to any Halloween parties or dress up at all...bummer :sad2: Last night, Chris and I just watched The Nightmare Before Christmas and went to bed early as well...so you weren't alone! lol

You are very dedicated to get up to go to mass so early in Disney!

That was awesome that the CM from your area gave you TT FPs! Holding a TT and Soarin' FP at the same time is like the Holy Grail of FPs

I love yours and Kristen's dresses this day!

Aww that's okay! I give you props... frumps are always good in my book :thumbsup2 Yeah all I did last night was watch part of Casper and part of Hocus Pocus. Some of my friends went trick or treating but I did NOT feel like walking around in the cold. So I stayed here. :rotfl: The weather makes me extremely frumpy haha.
Thank you!
It really is. What an accomplishment!!
And thank you very much! I believe they were both from Target!

Hi there! I'm joining in a little late, but I went back and read all of it last night. Looks good so far....can't wait to read more. No problem!! Better late than never! :) I'm glad your'e here!
Thanks about the pictures! I'm so happy you're enjoying them!
Oh my gosh that is SO exciting!! Wow, that is going to be an amazing trip! If you need any help planning, just let me know :goodvibes I have gotten a lot of practice over the years!
I hope you continue to enjoy the TR! :wizard:

Thank you! :)
I pronounce it basically like "holloween" instead of "hAlloween." (with a hard A) I guess it's one of those pronunciation things that nobody know what the real answer is.
YUM muffins. :lovestruc
Thank you! We had a great time! And HAHAHA I totally spent a good chunk of time reading those yesterday. SO FUNNY!
And aww that's so cute! I'm glad you pointed that out because it's so true! I didn't even notice. How adorable. :goodvibes

Thanks...I have an addiction to glitter! Cuz it's uber cool!

Oh, and I tend to overuse the exclamation point, too!!

(It's a sickness!) :rotfl:

Haha YEAH it is! I love glitter LOL.
And oh my gosh me too. Sometimes I write things and I realize I have like 7 sentences in a row ending in an exclamation point :rotfl: Oh well. I'm just an enthusiastic person, what can I say? :p

Hold up. Halloween isn't pronounced with emphasis on the A? How the heck is it supposed to be pronounced? Holloween? I feel like this is Freshman year of college all over again. My dad has always wanted to get one of the mini monorails to put under our Christmas tree. One of these years, maybe he will. :goodvibes

Haha yeah I pronounce it Holloween! Kristen pronounces it HAlloween. LOL I don't really know what the correct pronunciation is! Considering we have Buffalo accents Kristen probably says it right after all. Yeah some people do that to me too! I didn't even know I had an accent. But hey, accents are cool. I'm very intrigued by them. :p
Thank you!! :) And oh my gosh it was! I really wish I could have had more. YUMMM.
Thank you! And LOL me too... considering I didn't get up until 35 minutes later. That was a close call!
Yeah right!? That's crazy. Hmm I don't know. I bet there was because Kristen usually maximizes EMH's in her planning. That could explain it!
Yes it does!! Good thing CM's are so friendly and easy to talk to!
Hahaha ya caught me. Sometimes I forget to take "small children by the hand." :rotfl:
Oh my Gosh that is a BRILLIANT idea!! He definitely should. When I have my own house someday, I'm definitely going to do that. I swear, my future children are gonna think I'm insane for loving Disney this much :lmao: Let alone my future husband. I'll probably scare him away. :rotfl2:

Your nails are super adorable; I love candy corn! I went for the Disney Princess look with a bunch of my hall mates this year. I got to be Princess Aurora!

El Centro is really fun to say isn't it? Definitely makes you sound classy in my opinion.

Anyway, Epcot is always so much fun. I've never been on the green side of Mission: SPACE. For me it's always been the more intense; I feel like I would be bored by not spinning anymore.

Helpful CMs always make the day and trip more magical. So glad you found a really kind and awesome one!

Tell Kristen not to worry about forgetting things, as long as you can get them back because it could be much worse. My sister managed to drop her phone into the Seven Seas Lagoon on the boat ride to Wilderness Lodge. My mom tried to get a net from a CM to fish it out. Didn't work. However, the phone is forever in a happier place now.

Aww thank you so much! And that is SO cute!! I bet that was so much fun! I was Princess Jasmine last year, Kristen was Snow White, and our friend Alicia was Alice. So we had a little Disney crew going on that year. Very cute!
El Centro :lovestruc Yes, I 100% agree. Absolutely! :thumbsup2
Yeah, you probably would be. I went on the orange side first, and then the green side was like... "oh. Okay." But if you wanna take it easy, it is a nice option.
They really do!
Haha seriously! Thank goodness they were there. OH MY GOSH she dropped her phone in the seven seas lagoon?!?! Yeah, you're definitely not going to get it back from there. That's slightly funny. I'm sure it wasn't at the time though. And yes, if I was a drowned phone, there's no other place I would rather be! :p

I hope you don't mind, but I "borrowed" one of your revious TR photos and glitterfied it. This is what happens when I'm on the most boring conference call in the history of the world that lasted FOUR hours! :crazy2: It was either this or falling asleep...and I really didn't want my boss to hear me snoring. :rotfl: I worked on my digital scrapbook, glittered some photos, did some Dis'n, :surfweb: AND participated in the call.

Anyway, enjoy!

AHHHH oh my gosh that's AWESOME!!! princess: I love it!! You made a very good use of your time hahaha. I'm sorry it was so boring! Yuck, that does not sound like fun!
But EEEE I love it :) Thank you!

I've been trying to figure out how i would say the word halloween and realized i tend to say it with a mix of a A and a O sound. Being from Chicago i probably put a lot of the A sound in my words. Mine is a pretty toned down chicago accent though so oddly enough not many people ask me to say things a certain way again though. sometimes i feel like i sound more southern than anything else which is weird considering i only spend a week or 2 in the south each year. I like it though because then i feel more interesting. Obviously, I agree about accents being interesting. my high school went 2 london for new years in 2009 and my entire group was obsessed with english accents and kept talking in them the entire trip.

Hi again! I don't remember if I've officially commented on this trip yet, but I'm here. Such a great trip! :goodvibes

Haha, Kristen is soo much like me, us June 16ers. I have been running a major case of forgetfullness lately. But then again, I just went blonde on Saturday. :rotfl2:Which somehow reminds me about Kim K. :headache:

Glad you liked Test Track, I actually really want to try it, but it's a little nerve-wracking to me. By the way, how did you get to church? Did Natalie drive? I think that's probably the one setback for me moving to Florida, I'm not used to the roads and it will be like "Hello, welcome to Florida, what's 60 mph, 85's the norm?!"

Haha yeah I guess we all have our own little accents. That's cool you went to London! LOL I would have done the same thing... considering I talk in English accents in America :p

Hooray! I'm glad you're enjoying!
Hahaha ahh you forgetful people. :p LOL just kidding. It was all good! And haha oh Kim. Whatta gal.
I think you should definitely try it :) It's really not bad. My brother doesn't do thrill rides AT ALL and Test Track is his favorite ride. It's really just like driving in a regular car.
And oh no Kristen's Dad drove. Kristen's family drove to Disney so they had a car. And oh boy... I've never driven down there but that sounds crazy!

Sounds like even if your Halloween wasn't too intense, you at least had a fun time over the weekend?! I had a similar Halloween, we went to a couple of movies, I dress up every day for work, and had celebrated at MNSSHP earlier, so the holiday was kind of over done for me haha

That's good to know about Mission Space, it's the claustraphobia that gets me for that ride, maybe I'll test it out next time!

How awesome that you got extra fp!!:yay:

Yes exactly :) This weekend was really fun! Yeah the actual day of halloween was just pretty frumpy. And ahhh lucky you got to go to MNSSHP! I NEED to go to that. I really want to go next year.
And yeah definitely try it out! See if it's doable! Cuz it's a pretty fun ride.
And yes that was wonderful!

Quick question? I noticed in the beginning you guys picked up your luggage and then went to ME. Is there a reason you don't use their luggage service? Thats one thing I am nervous about for our trip.

We didn't use it because we only had one bag each. It was easier for us to just carry the bags ourselves. I totally trust their luggage service and I have used it before. The only reasons I wouldn't use it is if we don't' have that many bags or if we're going to a park immediately and need stuff out of our suitcases. But I trust it :) It's your own decision on what you want to do! And if you don't feel comfortable with it, you can just do what we did!

Ahh ok yeah, that's what I was thinking. Accents are weird things... like I never feel like I actually have one but any time I've been to New York, or anywhere up north really, people look at me like I'm a total hillbilly... so I guess I have a more southern accent? Which I guess makes it weird that I say Halloween like I do then. Ok this is getting tooooo confusing haha. I'll stop. :lmao:
Oh that's funny! I actually thought you might have held them with that hand on purpose because of your seagull nail. So cute!

Hahaha I guess that's just happens when we leave our home areas. ACCENTS! It is confusing. Oh well.
And nope that was by total accident! Good thing I held it with that hand, because the other hand had Space Mountain on it... and that wouldn't have made any sense! :p

Chapter 16: CAN YOU TAKE THE HEAT?!
August 21st, 2011

After Test Track, we went into Mouse Gear. It was getting EXTREMELY hot outside. Like, unbearably hot. So, we looked at the merchandise while we enjoyed the wonderful air conditioning.

dsc0470v.jpg

My favorite fountain. ♥

dsc0472o.jpg

We decided that it would be a good time to go to lunch! So, we headed over to The Land (YES, THE GOOD SMELLING PAVILION!) and went to Sunshine Seasons!

dsc0474yj.jpg

I thoroughly analyzed the stations, and then decided to get the Mongolian Beef with Lo Mein Noodles and Mixed Vegetables.

dsc0475zu.jpg

YUM! It was really good. The dish had a kick to it, which I really liked. It wasn't overbearingly spicy, it was just right! The Lo Mein was good, but it wasn't nearly as good as Yak and Yeti's. (Which is #1 in my book. If Lo Mein is your thing, I recommend making an ADR there asap!) However, it was Disney food so I really can't complain.

For dessert, I got Chocolate Mousse Cake.

dsc0476gw.jpg

HOLY COW that was good. It was everything I had hoped for.

Isn't it just the best feeling in the world when you FINALLY get to eat the food that you've been admiring pictures of for months? Yeah, that's how I felt at that moment.

Also, I have come to the conclusion that Disney LOVES to serve anything with Chocolate Mousse. That's like one of the staple Disney World foods. But hey, it's good. I'm just saying. It's kind of funny. Everywhere you look: CHOCOLATE MOUSSE!

Anyways, the cake was great. It wasn't dry at all, and the mousse was cold and tasted great with the cake part. AHHH yum. I want some now.

Nat got the Sweet and Sour Chicken with Lo Mein Noodles and Broccoli.

dsc0477b.jpg

She enjoyed that as well! I'm sure she gobbled it up in about 2 seconds... aka it was great.

She also got Chocolate Mousse cake for dessert. (Great choice, great choice.)

dsc0478c.jpg

Yes, it deserves to be pictured twice.

Sarah got the Reuben Panini and a S'mores Dessert.

dsc0480qa.jpg

Sarah is a picky eater, so she wasn't a huge fan of the sauerkraut that was on the sandwich. But she ate a good amount of it, even though she didn't finish it.

That dessert also looked really delicious. Ahh Sunshine Seasons has such great desserts!! I had a bite of it, and it seemed pretty heavy to me.. But I don't know if that was because I had just finished eating or not. The important thing is that Sarah enjoyed it.

And here is Kristen's STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE.

dsc0479dh.jpg

The only problem with Sunshine Seasons is that the Strawberry Shortcake AND Chocolate Mousse Cake are dessert options here. How the heck are you supposed to decide between those two, as well as resist temptation from all of the other delicious looking desserts!? It's really just not fair.

Here goes Kristen... about to eat her delectable shortcake....

dsc0481w.jpg

MMMMMMMMMMM! So good.

dsc0482n.jpg

- Cue the Singing Angels -

Once we finished that fantastic meal, we checked the wait times on Mobile Magic for characters. We saw that Snow White was coming out at 1:15, and then Aladdin and Jasmine were coming out around 1:45 or 2.

So, we decided to walk to Germany.

Ha. Ha.

WHY did we do that!? It was sweltering heat. SO FREAKING HOT. I honestly don't even know how we survived.

World Showcase in August in the Afternoon = VERY BAD IDEA!

STAY AWAY!

I'm warning you.

We finally made it to Germany, after what had seemed like a trek through the dessert. We got in the line that already formed for Snow White. We had to stand in the sun. Great.

But I took a picture of some flowers. Here ya go:

dsc0486zs.jpg

We complimented these girls in front of us on all of their Disney accessories. We were like "Ahh that's so cute! We're obsessed with Disney, too!" And they were like "so obsessed that you work here?!" Haha... not yet. If only they knew how badly we want to work there. They apparently were cast members who were going to the park on their day off. I'm so gonna do that someday.

We finally got to the front of the line to meet Snow White. She really... just wasn't that great of a Snow White. Her hair looked weird or something in the back. I don't know. It was just sort of disappointing after walking in that blazing heat.

And the worst part.... SHE CLOSED HER EYES IN THE PICTURE! Of course.

dsc0485j.jpg

Fail.

We said goodbye, and then reevaluated our plan. We were going to go meet Aladdin and Jasmine in Morocco... but there was NO WAY we were gonna make it all the way to Morocco in that heat.

Sue really wanted to keep pushing forward and see more of the World Showcase... and Kristen, Nat, Sarah, and I were just so done. We NEEDED to go swimming.

After a slightly lengthy discussion, we finally convinced Sue to let us go back to Coronado. Scott and her stayed behind and toured more of the world.

Hooray! We were heading back!

But oh wait. The heat was UNBEARABLE!

Literally, we had to stop in every gift shop we passed. The walk out never ended. It just kept getting hotter and hotter.

We decided to go get some school bread when we passed Norway! That made Kristen happy.

dsc00182ky.jpg

The cast member told us that if we ever go to the real Norway we should try school bread there! I can't even imagine how good that would be.

We kept walking and we had to stop in that one gift shop that's located on the International Gateway. We just plopped down on the floor. We sat near the pins, took the 4-pin packages, and fanned ourselves with them. I mean, it definitely worked! With the air conditioning, too, it was sort of revitalizing.

However, we couldn't stay there all day. We had to keep going!

After many more stops in the gift shops, we FINALLY got to Future World!

We had to use up our Soarin' fastpasses before we left, which was great because then we could be in air conditioning. YAY.

We got in line and waited. We took some video, and just cooled down.

dsc0489t.jpg

dsc00186i.jpg

The walls were nice and cold.

dsc0487in.jpg

Sadly, the school bread melted while we were on our journey.

dsc0488z.jpg

dsc0491v.jpg

But Kristen still loved it anyway.

- Cue the Singing Angels.... AGAIN! -

(But seriously, it looks like the heavens are shining down on her in this picture.)

dsc0492w.jpg

We got in Row 2 for this ride.

dsc0490z.jpg

PATRICK DOES THE DEER FACE! See?! I told you. We finally got picture evidence!

dsc0493u.jpg

School bread on Soarin'!

dsc0494xl.jpg

It was Nat's first time on Soarin' and she thought it was so cool!! Sarah LOVES that ride so much. It was very enjoyable for all of us!

dsc0496n.jpg

Once we got off of Soarin', we headed right to the exit. It was time to go SWIMMING!

We waited about 5-10 minutes for the bus, and we were soon on our way back to Coronado!
