Theme Park Strollers

[Hunbun]

We will be traveling with our 13 mo. old grandson and wonder if the strollers in the parks have seat belts? Our baby is an escape artist, so belts are a must.

Also does the seat recline for napping? Is there a basket for storage?

A child that young would probably do better in your own comfy stroller. That way they can nap more easily. The ones in the park are a hard plastic. We brought our daughter at 9.5 months, 16 months, and 19 months and she really needed her own carriage to sleep in.

we are going again next month, our daughter is now just over 2. We'll probably try renting a stroller but we'll still bring ours just in case it doesn't work out for her.

I agree with the PP's. Those rentals arent made for such young children. Bring your own or your grandson will be miserable and someone will be carrying him most of the time.

we bought our own umbrella style stroller. This is a Chicco brand and it reclines and has an extended leg rest and comes with a clear rain cover for those daily rain showers in FL. It folds nicely like an umbrella stroller but it is much more sturdy. I will enclose a link for you. In the long run it came out to the same price as renting one for the week, but we have gotten 2 wks worth out of it at Disney/Seaworld/Busch gardens tampa, and also BG in Virginia for a week, so we saved a ton of $$$$ in the end.

I don't know about the seat belts, but I do know that there is nothing remotely like a basket on the rented ones. We had the hardest time carrying our stuff around because we just assumed there would be some type of storage. WRONG! That is the main reason we brought our own strollers on the next trip, and it was MUCH better for us. We were able to take in a cooler, camera and video camera bag, and very large (stuffed full) backpack, and all fit in the bottom basket of our own stroller.
