Hello!

I tried doing a search but didn’t see an answer to my particular question.

When doing Caring for Giants, Up Close with Rhinos, Behind the Seeds, etc., is it appropriate to tip the tour guide?

I don’t normally carry cash but want to make sure I have some on hand if I need to tip the guides.

TIA

I went on the Caring for Giants tour today and asked about tipping. For anyone who is curious like I was, they are not permitted to accept cash tips. They will encourage you to make a donation to the Disney Conservation Fund in the cast members name.

They also said they are allowed to accept a gift like a pin or something with a value up to $75.

I have this tour booked and it mentions allergens like peanuts. I thought that was very specific because the others were your typical outdoor ones - dust, hay, etc. I assume they may have peanuts nearby due to feeding the elephants a treat. Did you notice peanuts? My daughter has an allergy but she can be near them. Just wondering how intense the peanuts exposure is.

Thanks for any help!

I did not see any peanuts anywhere during our tour.

This tour does not include feeding the elephants. We were not anywhere within touching distance of them. I would say we were about 50 yards away and there was a moat separating us from their area.

We did get to see 2 males sparring with each other.

I’d be happy to answer any other questions you have. IMG_3101.jpegIMG_3102.jpegIMG_3103.jpegIMG_3104.jpegIMG_3105.jpegIMG_3106.jpegIMG_3107.jpeg

This is from 2017, so may be out of date. There’s some elephant poop involved so maybe that’s where the risk is if they are fed peanuts? I didn’t see peanuts anywhere either. They gave us name tags made of paper that is made from elephant poop and there was a dried elephant poop ball they handed my son and then told him what it was. When elephant poop dries, it can’t make you sick and apparently can be made into paper.
