I'm a long time lurker on the DISBOARDS...much more than a poster. I have been a Disney lover for as long as I can remember, but didn't become an insane planner until 3 years ago when I found the DISBOARDS. I feel like I've picked up much of my knowledge here. I've always wanted to do a trip report, and in this case starting with a PTR. I love reading everyone elses, and am looking forward to sharing with all of you.
Anyways, moving on to the trip! My name is Jenn I'm older than 30 (ughhh) and obsessed with two things, hockey and disney. My best friend Kimmie who will also be posting is my fellow Disneynut and always ready and willing to go on Disney adventures. I think I can speak for both of us when I say we pride ourselves on being Disney Geeks, we always say...ask us anything about Disney and we have an answer. For some reason everytime Kim is in the park, people ask here for directions, where things are, about the rides, food, etc. It's really cool.
We orginally started planning this trip to be an all girls trip for many of our friends and family, but one by one everyone has flaked out leaving only the two of us left!
A little background on how we met: we are both from Northern CA, when I graduated from my small town highschool I moved to the big city..and Kim was the first friend I made at the local hallmark store where I got my first big city job (in the mall).
I was a pretty shy homely small town girl, and Kim is a very outgoing, fun actress! She defintely helped me out of my shell. We had some awesome fun wild times throughout our college years, lost contact for a little while and reconnected on myspace. We just picked up right where we left off. Kim still lives in California, while I have moved to Phoenix Arizona. I wish we lived closer, I keep trying to convince her to move to AZ where it's nice and warm!! We try and talk on the phone as much as possible.
Whats most interesting is that Kim and I have been best friends for 14 years and we have never taken a trip to DL together!!! Just WDW in 2008 with a group of 10 people. We had an unbelievable time. Here are a few pictures of our trip.
Kim is in the tank top, and I'm the one with the Coyotes hat on.
Kim has always been a ham for the camera, but most recently I have been too..not sure how? Well, we both got picked to participate in the Indiana jones stunt spectacular...it was a riot, we couldn't stop laughing the entire time.
**we are streching in this picture, I'm the really tall one, and Kim is the shortie next to me** We are already laughing in this picture.
We both are truely obsessed over food, Prime Time Cafe was a blast, causing the waitress to feed me, and Kim was put in the corner for being bad.
I was so full...this picture pains me, I look ready to explode! ...
Here is Kim in the corner...laughing of course
Our DL trip starts Feb 1, 2010. We are both going to be driving to the park. We're staying at the Best Western Stovall Inn, we found a smokin deal of $317.00 on Get Away Today's website for 5 nights and 6 days. The 4th and 5th night where free. I'm super excited about staying there, it looks nice since they refurbished. We both wanted to stay at one of the DL resorts, but it's just not going to work finanically. We both bought our tix off the DL website for $173 for the 6 day park hopper.
So far the plan is to get in really really early on Monday, even before the parks open...we are going to meet up at Mimi's for breakfast!! (love that spicy omlette) and than park our cars at the hotel and head over the DL to get in line! EARLY!!
We don't usually plan on what ride to do in what order, but most likely Pirates will be the first one on the list. I think that's all for tonight, Kimmie will be posting her comments below!
