Nova: "Jeff." Nova said. She sighed. "You know, sometimes I wish I could do this more often."
Jeff: He smiled. "Yeah." Jeff said, "I'm sorry, if it makes you uncomfortable to be out this late."
Nova: "My foster siblings barely notice I'm around, they won't care if I'm missing, not unless we have some trouble. I doubt there'll be something like a fire, or some type of serious problem."
Jeff: "I sometimes admire the way you rebel, even if it sometimes is a bit much, which I guess is why you pull it off. You seem to not care what other people think, but I know deep down inside I think you do."
Nova: "Why?" she said.
Jeff: "Because I'm an excellent judge of character." He laughed. "And I think you care more than you let on, Nova."
Nova: "I don't care about anyone but myself," she insisted. "However, I might care slightly about you as a friend."
