TV Guide Exclusive: Mark Pinter Joins The Young and the Restless

One of the soap world's most notorious badasses is about to shake things up in Genoa City! Actor Mark Pinter, best known as slimy senator-turned-mayor Grant Harrison on Another World, is set to play yet another ruthless politico on CBS' The Young and the Restless.

A rep for the top-rated sudser tells TV Guide Magazine that Pinter will be seen as Marcus Wheeler, "a powerful and sophisticated congressman involved with Victor [Eric Braeden] and Jack [Peter Bergman], who will go to any lengths to protect his image and career."

Pinter, whose credits also include stints on As the World Turns, Guiding Light and All My Children, starts shooting Y&R on Dec. 6. He hits the air Jan. 10 and will be seen at least through Feb. sweeps.

Sharon crashes the party and her apology falls on deaf ears instead she is bitterly insulted. Sharon leaves a wreck, Adam goes after her. Nick stops Noah fearing it will give the Newman more ammunition against Sharon
An already upset Noah becomes furious when Carmine starts talking about Sharon, Nick is forced to break up the fight. Nick then tells his family to leave Sharon alone and they shouldn't have talked to her like that in front of Noah
It looks like Kevin stole money from Tucker and Adam's accounts! Cop named Alex shows up looking for Noah, Kevin pretends not to know him well but Alex tries to get information out of Kevin.
Nick heads back to Avery's place, she cooks which she finds therapeutic. Nick says tonight made his decision final, he is through with Newman Enterprises for good and is moving on with his life
Noah calls his mom, he is tempted to leave this place again but he won't because of her. Alex shows up questioning Noah, he is snooping around the tack house but Noah tells him he hasn't heard from Adrianna
Jack's addiction to painkillers is getting worse, he now bribes a doctor to write him a prescription! Kyle comes home but doesn't find out what his father is upto, Jack leaves to get more pills
Sharon comes home upset, she realizes she made a bad situation worse. Adam comes over, Sharon shows him the door but he refuses to leave. Sharon is getting worse, he grabs her and they end up kissing - Chelsea sees!

Next - Chelsea calls Adam a son of a SOB ; Noah tries to calm Sharon down ; Summer opens upto her father about Chelsea, fears Chelsea hates her like her parents do

I was so annoyed with Nicki and Victoria at the party. They can both sink to such mean girl depths sometime.

And poor Chelsea. Adam is an idiot for not being totally devoted to her.

After crashing Victor and Nikki’s party, Sharon becomes completely unspooled and Adam is once again rushes to her side. Adam leaving the party to run after Sharon makes Chelsea angry. MCE says every time she thinks she can trust Adam, he disappoints her. Later, when Chelsea shows up at Sharon’s house she is shocked to see them in a kiss.

They try to explain but Chelsea ain’t hearing it… She slaps her husband and storms out. Adam follows and tries to explain that Sharon kissed him in an emotional state and ask her not to rat Sharon out about the fire. This really fumes Chelsea. Their marriage is in trouble and he’s thinking about Sharon. Next, Chelsea goes to see Nikki at the penthouse.

It doesn’t say that she tells Nikki but later Nikki confronts Sharon about burning down the ranch. Adam gets wind of this and confronts his wife, stating Sharon could lose her kids because her insecurities. This causes Chelsea to completely snap!!!

Soap Opera Digest can reveal that Marcy Rylan is heading back to Genoa City as Abby. The popular actress, who was cut from the cast in September to the surprise of her castmates, the fans — and the press — has been asked to return and will start taping again in January. Her status will now be recurring.

Christine informs Paul that she told Danny it's over between them. Chris says she can't believe she hurt Danny and Nina. When Paul asks her if being together is too much right now she says no and announces she is moving back to GC to be with him. Paul asks her to move in with him but she turns him down. She feels they both need time to make sure their relationship is going to work.

Summer shows up at Avery and ends confiding in Nick about feeling like everyone hates her, she hates herself. Nick tries to get through to Summer, help her cope with causing Chelsea to lose her baby

Sharon is a wreck when Noah shows up to see her, she has completely lost control but he manages to calm her down. Noah tells Sharon he will be her touchstone and he won't let her go back to Fairview

Adam says Sharon caught him off guard with the kiss, he tries to defend her to Chelsea which only infuriates her more. Chelsea thinks Sharon should be committed, he begs her to leave Sharon alone and trust him

Nick worries about Sharon and Avery understands this, talk of his past leads him to ask her about her own but Avery does not say much and cuts the night short. Meanwhile Summer is going through Avery's things

Billy and Victoria take a walk down memory lane after she complains about the night she had, she should've never gone to the party. Billy gets her to loosen up a bit but it is short lived

Chelsea shows up at the Newman penthouse, will she expose Sharon?

Next - Victor accuses Nick of protecting Sharon at his expense ; Neil is pissed when Lily, Devon and Leslie show up in casual wear

Thanks for the promo and spoilers, HonnyDipp! Sounds like Chelsea doesn't realize that Adam could be in major problems for the other fires/arsonist. Or, she doesn't care.

Nikki confronts Sharon saying she knows about the fire and how she is going to make Sharon go to jail
Nick is pissed off to find out that Sharon lied to him about the fire and worse got Noah to lie to him too
Victor tells Sharon she is ill and should seek treatment far away from Genoa City, can't cause more damage
Sharon apologizes to Nick and asks him to let her get better, Sharon feels the meds are starting to work
Nikki wants Chelsea to testify against Sharon, she refuses. Adam gets suspicious to see Nikki at his home
Adam confronts Sharon who says Chelsea must have exposed her since her doctor and son would not
Nikki and Victor plan to bring charges against Sharon. Victor knows Adam is behind the other fires started
At Jabot, Neil shocks all with how accepting he is of the casual look at work. He is willing to give it a try
Christine feels guilty for hurting two of her dearest friends and reveals she is moving back to Genoa City
Faith is sick and wants her mother, Nick tells Faith that Sharon is ill too but she is getting better w/ meds
