I think they were testing the viewers to see if Kyle and Phyllis would be an option. From what I understand the viewers hated the idea. I hated it mainly because just last year Kyle was 12 and pouring hot coffee in BigReds lap.

IF summer has a crush on Kyle this may be the swift kick in the butt for Nick to tell the truth. Something tells me he won't like seeing his daughter flirting with her half brother.

I think it might be the other way around since he sought her out at Crimson Lights...

That could bring an interesting drama back into play, especially since Red and Jack are maybe rekindling? Do we know how Summer generally feels about Jack? Or will this latest news shatter her all-to-fragile ego and turn her straight to Fen's arms where they run away (a la Lily & Daniel from years ago...)

Considering the new writers were supposed to bring us NEW plots, they seem to be recycling quite a few old ones

Adrienna is Kay's new BFF and nail tech (Hello Jill Foster re-do)

What's next? Kevin will burn down another restaurant that Lily and Tyler happen to be in???

I think Adrainna will use Kay. As soon as she discovers that Katherine is forgetful she will take full advantage. Kevin annoys me. After all the silver chipmunks shenanigans he has NO right judging her

At Crimson Lights, Phyllis has an encounter with Dylan, in which she realizes that he had an affair with Avery while she was married. Phyllis goes to see Avery and confronts her. “You do see how Phyllis is affected by her sister, and Avery actions bring out stuff in Phyllis,” explains Michelle Stafford. Avery tells Phyllis that their situation is different. As Phyllis leaves, she issues a warning about Nick. Phyllis then heads over to Jack and opens up to him about her family. She talks to Jack about her family convincing her that she was a loser, which is where she feels she’s at. We get to see a lot as to why Phyllis is the way she is.

Last week Nikki informed her family that she has been diagnosed with MS. JG says they are working on something with really high stakes, medically, for Nikki, Victor and their family. They are impassioned with the idea of MS for a number of reasons. However, the main reason is that the illness doesn't have to be a death sentence. It is something that can be handled and sometimes goes into remission on its own. Griffith says this story is something that “also presents a challenge for her relationship with Victor.” We can look for Victor to be impacted in ways we may not expect. “Their family will need to be strong and compassionate, not just for Nikki but for themselves.” Nikki will also find support from Katherine, who’s also has health issues. It will bring them closer. “Y&R is prepared to see this story through,” notes Griffith. This is something that Nikki will have to always live with.

I really want to be optimistic that the new writers will be better, but with all the re-doing of the old storylines I mentioned a few posts ago, I am having a hard time keeping that optimism...

As for the Phylis spoiler (that I forgot to multiqoute ) I DO give them credit for finally delving into a real backstory on her. It only took 15 years of her being a regular...

After a run in with Dylan, Phyllis immediately heads over to Avery to insult her calling her a **** and a hypocrite. Avery tells Phyllis she screwed up her own marriage and Nick does not want her. Avery also tells Phyllis that Nick already knows everything
Nick gives Sharon a lecture about getting involved with Adam again, he fears Sharon will relapse but she says she is fine and will date and hire whomever she wants
Chloe, Gloria and Chelsea make their sales pitch to Jack, Neil, Cane and Lily. Cane and Lily end up fighting over Tyler and Chelsea, Lily feels Cane is doing exactly what he accused her of doing. Chelsea and Tyler notice this
Nick warns Adam not to bring Sharon down or else. Adam reminds Nick he is the one who abandoned Sharon, called her crazy and threw her back in the psych ward while Adam got her help
Phyllis complains to Jack about Avery then kisses him ; Leslie is pissed when Neil won't back off (its her father in jail) ; Nick comforts Avery after Phyllis pissed her off ; Adam asks Sharon to move in with him while her house is renovated

From the episode where Nick looked at the results, but no one else did, it seemed like they left the door open. I would really enjoy this, because of all the turmoil it would cause in GC. What about that money in Summer's trust fund with which Phyllis paid off Tim? Is someone going to be upset about that, since she wasn't a Newman, after all? There are so many storylines that could come from this. Would Summer go ballistic and run away w Fen? I think the opportunities are endless.

I wondered if they were bringing up Faith's back-story with Adam to let the new viewers have some history on a baby-snatching plot that impacted Nick.

Phyllis learns about Avery and Dylan's past and calls her sister a huge hypocrite.

Tyler wants to tell everyone that their father killed their mother, but Leslie worries it's way too dangerous.

Cane helps Chelsea get her pitch heard and Neil hires her.

Lily and Cane argue about Chelsea and Tyler.

Nick reads Sharon the riot act for kissing Adam and hiring Dylan. She tells him she'll date and hire whoever she likes.

Nick threatens Adam, who finds it tiresome.

Sharon spooks Dylan by mentioning Sullivan.

Adam and Sharon laugh about Nick and decide to move in together during her renovations.

Nick comforts Avery after her blowout with Phyllis.

Avery asks Dylan's plans - he likes Genoa City.

Leslie runs off when Neil asks her who 'Valerie' is.

Phyllis kisses Jack.

Tuesday February 26:

Jill says to Adriana, "Give it back you little thief?" Adriana asks, "Give what back?"

Michael visits Christine at Paul's and asks if she's found a new job yet; he's got one for her if she's interested - District Attorney.

Carmine tells Lauren, "Whatever you want, just say the word."

Abby questions Carmine's interest in Lauren.

Christine is determined to see Phyllis punished.

Wednesday February 27:

Dylan's motives come under fire by Nick.

Nikki and Victor go to see the newly rebuilt ranch.

Thursday February 28:

Leslie tells Neil about her past.

Chelsea strives to keep her pregnancy secret from Adam.

Friday March 1:

Lauren gives in to temptation.

Things become increasingly tense between Lily and Cane.

Looks like Abby saw Phyllis and Jack together but Jack is not worried. Phyllis begins ranting about her family again, Jack comforts her and the two have sex. They get back together
Abby sees Carmine interested in Lauren, he tells her its none of her business after she left him for New York and never called him again. Abby runs into Alex, flirts with him but Carmine sees through her
Jill accuses Adrianna of stealing but it appears its more of Katherine losing her mind. Kevin looks like he's going to take advantage of Adrianna being a thief for his own benefits
Michael offers Christine his job as DA once he resigns, Chris tries to talk with Fen while Paul tries to be a friend to Michael. Meanwhile Lauren is unable to get her mind off Carmine

Next - Victor wants his kids at the ranch

Summer continues to find excuses to hang out with Kyle, he is doing nothing to put a stop to this. Jack and Abby warn him not to lead Abby on
Neil sees Jack acting differently, thinks he is using again but Jack explains he is just happy cause he's back with Phyllis. Neil thinks its a bad idea
Leslie picks on Avery for information about the case she's working on, learns Avery has enough to prove the case was handled poorly
Dylan continues to bond with Sharon and Faith, is even going on a hike with them. Nick is fine with this but questions why Dylan is staying in GC
Victor and Nikki hold a housewarming party, their ranch is now complete. Sharon worries they'll kick her out of her home but Noah says they won't since they have more important things to worry about

Next - Adam tells Sharon offer still stands to stay with him ; Someone tampered with the brakes on Avery's car ; Nick confronts his father wanting to know why he is doing favors for Wheeler

Adam attempts to pursuade Sharon to move in with him but she weighs the positives and negatives to this decision including Nick and Chelsea's reactions, in the end she decides she'll move in temporarily which Chelsea just happens to overhear
Chelsea rants to Chloe about what she overheard, says Adam would never put their child first and how he is a selfish jerk. Chelsea decides she will leave Genoa City, Chloe tries to stop this from happening
When it is learned the brakes were tampered with, Nick and Dylan believe its linked to the case Avery is working on which leads her to confront Leslie. Avery realizes Leslie knows more than she lets on
Leslie tells Neil the truth about her past, he asks Wheeler to leave Leslie alone. Meanwhile, Nick confronts Victor saying he does not want Avery to become collateral damage.
Victor wants Wheeler to leave Genoa City or else, he brings up Wheeler's drug addict prostitute daughter. Adam sees this and confronts his father over what he is upto now
Dylan, Sharon and Faith go hiking. Faith starts a snowball fight with her mom, while playing Sharon trips and hurts her leg which seems to scare Faith who runs from there. Sharon calls out for Faith

Next - Lauren with Carmine ; Lily seems pissed with Cane, works late with Tyler ; Dylan searches for Faith

Indeed, and it seemed configured like Victoria and Billy's place because the stairs weren't to the right of the living like at the "old" ranch, they were to the left of the front door, behind the sofa like in Victoria's (dreadful) house. Guess we'll be lookig at those HUGE candlesticks for a long time.
