The Wright's 1st Time Staying Deluxe,A September 2010 Pre-Trip Report!Update 9/26

Love the flashback pictures! My how your kids have grown! I totally remember those crazy 80's costumes the characters wore! Gotta love the "space" theme :rotfl:

And here I was just about to offer some suggestions!
I guess I'll have to wait until the revises ones are released! ;)

Awe so sorry Mike , I'm sure your suggestions would have been great too ! DH & I just decided staying up till 1:00 a.m. on our last day would not be a wise idea but better suited for day 1 . lol

I know aren't they great I love looking at old pictures ! I remember our 1st trip as a family in 06 we didn't even have a digital camera , wow how times have changed ! If you remember the space theme your gonna love some of the upcoming pictures .

I just realized that not only did my day one plans have to change , I did not included any details about arrival day . So I'm going to include both in this update :)

Arrival Day (September 16th 2010)

This day will be spent mostly traveling to the World . Were driving and plan on at least stopping at the Character Premier Outlet in St. Augustine , FL . This place is awesome if you drive to the World u must stop , it's all the authentic merchandise from the parks but half the price ! (Exit 318 off 95) We will probably arrive sometime in the late afternoon depending on when I can talk DH into leaving in the morning and how fast our new GPS gets us there . After arriving and checking into the WL we will head to DTD and probably eat a CS at Wolfgang Puck Express(the food is amazing for being CS) ! After our meal we will do a little window shopping around DTD and then head back to WL for a good night's sleep.

Totally revised Day 1 (September 17th 2010)

Parks : Animal Kingdom (9a.m.-5p.m.) and Magic Kingdom(9a.m.-7p.m.)
ADR: Donald's Safari Breakfast
CS Choices : Flame Tree BBQ or WL counter service(Lunch)Columbia Harbor House , Captain Cooks @ The Poly or Contempo Cafe @ Comtepoary Resort (Dinner)
Special Advents : MNSSHP (7p.m.-12a.m.)

Attraction & Show Plans for AK no particular order :

It's Tough To Be A Bug
Pangani Forest Exploration Trail
Kilimanjaro Safaris
Maharajah Jungle Trek
Flights of Wonder ( 1st time for this show )
Triceratop Spin
Dinosaur ? (Never done this before but I'm gonna extend an offer to DS6 to see if he might want to ride w/ DH)
Festival of the Lion King
Greeting Trails

We will try and make rope drop for AK and probably only stay till shortly after lunch time .
Heading back to WL at least by 1 or 2 to rest up and get the kiddies dressed for MNSSHP . Then heading out between 4 or 5 to the MK to eat and partake in the party .

Here are some AK pictures from previous years :

Love the plans bestie!!!! We will be there right with you for some of the plans...possibly maybe go with you to the MNNSHP!!!! YAY :grouphug:

Some random tips.....Dinosaur is pretty scary so I only suggest that for the bravest kids. We have seen many kids crying on/after this ride over the years. If your Ds is the daring type though he'd probably love it!

As for MNSSHP if you want to catch Snow White and the dwarves stop their first. The line gets crazy long and stays that way all evening! There is much more to do then time will allow so try and prioritize what you want to do and then enjoy as much as you can :goodvibes

Your first day sounds great. I strongly recommend the rest period after Animal Kingdom. Even on a cooler day AK is hot and tiring, but a lot of fun. Then after a rest period MK and the excitement of MNSSHP will energize you.

Sounds great!
What time is your ADR for Donald's Breakfast? If it's not before park opening, get a Kilimanjaro FastPass before you check-in.
It is right next store and you can go right on after you eat.

As for MNSSHP, you'll have a blast.
We did lots of char interaction and no rides when we went in November.
I'd recommend to get there at 4:00 and eat dinner quick-service (Columbia Harbour House is a great choice).
Make sure you get stuff that doesn't drip and make a mess since you'll be in costume.
By 6:30, you should be heading towards your first MNSHHP activity.
We went straight for Toontown and were first on line for Mickey and then waited minimally for Minnie.
But Dawn is right that Snow White also has insane lines.
So you may have to suck it up and wait in line for either Mickey or Snow or skip one (we skipped Snow White).
Another tip - if you want Cinderella's pumkin carraige, that usually opens around 6:30 so you can sneak into that line before the party actually starts.

Thanks Bestie  I'm soo excited for you guys and your upcoming move to Florida & to top it off that you will be able to join us on some of our trip !

DS is not very daring , every time he sees people riding Splash Mt. , he says he's not doing that , so it sounds like Dinosaur would probably not be for him . Thanks for the warning Dawn :)

Thanks for the MNSSHP party tips . I think I will go over the party characters w/ the kiddies before our trip and based on who they want to see is what we will do . I think I want to do Snow White & The Dwarf's more than anyone

Thanks so much :) We will try to put a rest in there(Mom would love to rest) , our kiddies are super energetic so it's hard to get them to lay down in the room and rest they usually bounce off the walls !

We can't make our ADR's yet so I'm not sure when we will eat at Donald's ? Last year our ADR there was right before rope drop and it worked out really well , ate came out waited for the rope to drop and then walked right on to KS. Your idea is great too , so we will shoot for it or use what we did last year .

Thanks so much Mike for all the great MNSSHP tips , you gave me so many great things to think about . Def will head to Cindy's carriage early , to check that one off our list before the party starts :)

I'm with everyone else - get in a line early. Whichever picture is most important to you, go ahead and do your waiting early. We've waited on Mickey and Minnie in the past, and we got smart and were first to see Mickey and had a short line for Minnie this year. Next time, we're thinking of doing the Snow White wait.

Thanks for the added encouragement to pick just one of the big Character meet & greets . I'm going to make a list and let the kiddies pick which one they would like to do , only fair :)

Also, be sure to hit the two Photopass shots!
You can get the ghosts at the hearse outside HM and the hitchiking ghosts across from the Liberty Bell.
In both shots, the Photopass photographer magically add the ghosts to your pictures afterwards.
Very fun sounvenir from the event!
And there's usually good Halloween discounts for Photopass for pics from that night...
