So this is probably the worse group to pose this question but i'll throw it out there anyway...What would you do??

I am currently booked for a solo stay at the GF from Sept 1-4 booked though a TA at an AMAZING rate (paid less than if I was to stay at a mod for a room at the GF). I will be staying at either ASSp or POR Aug 30-Sept 1 before moving to the GF. So 5 nights in total...

For some reason im conflicted about even going now. My 45 day mark is Thursday so I have to decide soon...Haven't book the rm only yet for the 2 nights before the GF

Money isnt really the issue and time off at work is approved and I have lots to spare...I think im unsettled because I was just there in May and im planning on going again in February for the Princess Half Marathon with a good friend of mine. Maybe im unsettled because I dont want to go by myself - although ive done lots of solo trips in the past and this trip I only plan on 2 park days and 1 day at the water parks.

Oh I just don't know what to do :crazy2: This would likely be my only chance to stay at GF and work has been stressful lately and I know if I dont go once those dates rolll around in August I will be kicking myself for not going....Just not feeling the disney love or pixie dust at the moment....HELP!

Being this will most likely be your only chance to stay at the GF (along with work being crazy for you right now), I say go for it. Room rates continue to go up every year it seems, so if you can get a phenomenal rate at the GF for a few nights, I wouldn't pass it up. Go and have a great time :).

I wouldn't let this trip go. Being that work is stressful for you right now I think a vacation is in order to relax and unwind! The GF is an incredible resort and since you're only planning on 2 parks and 1 waterpark that gives you 2 days to just take it easy; sleep in, take in the sights at the GF, relax at the pool.

As the PP mentioned resort rates are continually going up, not down, and seeing that you're paying less for GF than you would for a Mod it's too good of an offer to pass up.

I agree with what everyone above has said. Go! Enjoy it! You deserve a break and I can't think of a more amazing place to go relax. The Grand Floridian is absolutely gorgeous! Just sitting in your beautiful room with a good book is so relaxing and amazing! In fact, you ought to go to the newly opened Senses Spa that's right there for a facial or some kind of spa treatment! :goodvibes

Definitely GO !! In twenty years you will more regret the things that you did NOT do lots more than anything that you did ! Opportunities present themselves and it is up to us to seize them ! :dance3: Go and enjoy yourself , I'm sure you deserve it , right ? :cool1: Loads of wishes for a fabulous trip ! pixiedust: pixiedust: :beach

I usually start questioning why am I going to WDW again about this point before a trip. I don't think that's unusual at all. You may not feel right about it even up to the point that you're getting on the plane or in the car to go. But, once you are there, you won't regret making the choice to stick with the trip. And I had a once in a lifetime chance to stay at GF and liked it very much. Go, have fun!

This is so true...I just have to remember that DH and I dont have any kids yet and that im only going to be in my 20's for couple years so might as well jump on these opportunities while I still can...Once we start having kids these spur of the moment getaways will likely not happen...or at least as often

I was thinking about spoiling myself and going for their signature treatment...the new spa looks gorgeous! I just need to find a new book to bring with me....I love the lobby of the GF with the piano playing in the afternoons...a great place to unwind.

Go. Enjoy. Have fun!

Thank You

Thanks for your advice...yeah I did notice the rates for 2014 seemed to go up across the board in certain room categories...I think this will be the perfect way to cross GF off my list of resorts ive stayed in...

The work stress is probably part of it too...I feel like those few days I booked off could be spent getting stuff done but they wouldnt of approved my time off if they thought they couldnt survive without me for a few days although I sometimes like to think they couldnt ;)

Sometimes I say the same thing, this trip we are getting ready to go on is my 6th trip in the last 14 months.:rolleyes1 I love it, and my heart says go and have a great time, but my head says I'm crazy. ;) I think it's best to follow your heart and take advantage of a great trip while you still can. A co-worker of my husband literally dropped dead last month very suddenly at a very young age (in her 30's). We are never promised another trip or another day for that matter, so go and enjoy! Life is short! :cloud9:  :thumbsup2

I will give you the possible outcome of NOT going ...

We went in February 2012 for 10 days, with some family, it was great ! Awesome awesome awesome trip.

So a little while later, my sister books another trip in Sept, with Free Dining .... and My wife and I thought about it, it would be a little bit of a stretch with work and stuff, just getting the time off, but we could have worked it ...

We were also planning on returning in February ...

So we thought that was just too many trips in too short a time, and decided not to go.

We regretted not going SOOOOOO much. On the lead up to when the trip would be, we were sad, during when the trip would have been, we were crazy sad :(

We also ended up delaying our return trip to May, which would have spaced the trips out even more. It seemed like SUCH a long haul waiting for May to come around.

Take your trip, live it, love it :)
