The worst of life: War, Death, Taxes, No Towel Animals!

Thank you for posting this. Now, if only people would realize it is sarcasm.

Towel animals posts are my biggest pet peeve on this site. I bet the thousands of maids that work in WDW would like to strangle the small handful that make towel animals.

ITA. I almost started a thread one day entitled "Am I the Only Person on the DIS Who Doesn't Give a Hoot About Towel Animals?" :teeth:

I think we may have recieved a few towel animals before but I honestly can't even remember.

I could care less about towel animals. In fact I have gotten them several times, taken them apart and used them for the real purpose in life, to dry off with.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!! :earseek: Oh the agony! Oh the anguish! ;)

I don't understand why people desire these so much. They get abandoned all day in a hotel room while you play at the parks -- how cruel! Who gives them food and water?

What I really want to know is... who has to clean up after them? Rabbits and squirrels may not leave much, but what about the monkeys, giraffes and ohmigosh -- WHALES?!?!?! :earseek:

If I ever received a towel animal i would leave a bigger tip. Bet the housecleaners who do towel animals receive more money in the long run.
.

If I ever received a towel animal, I'd take it down to the hotel pool and put it out of its misery.

GASP~ You TAKE them apart? Oh my! We put our animals on the daybed during for our whole stay. On our WL trip we were there 12 days and have over 24 towel animals at the end! Very cute and DD loves them almost as much as me! LOL!

I realize the sarcasm but its the little "details" that add to the experience. If you ask my girls whats there favorite thing at EPCOT they will tell you the ice stattion out of all things  .

Our first trip was at CBR. My girls could not wait to see what was peeking out of the window from mouse keeping. On the morning bus ride the parents would all exchange how their toys were arranged and what towel animals were left from mousekeeping. My favorite was someone had purchased a Carnitor and mopusekeeping had it in the tub holding the toliet paper :teeth: .

In the six times we have gone since we have never recieved towel animals etc after that . My kids still ask "Why" and I tip accordingly. They do "premake" them...I have seen them on the carts I am assuming its the individual mousekeepers who do that and go the "extra Mile".

Iy may seem trite and stupid but when your 5yo its a big deal

The scariest part of this thread is I'm not 100% certain who's being sarcastic and who's being sincere.

There is nothing in this world as good as walking in your hotel room and staring at a white terry cloth cat resting on your bed.

Hey! I didn't get a cat!!!

I can understand why you'd be upset. After all a TA cat is usually litterbox trained. Try doing that with a monkey, rabbit or whale! ;)

OMG!!!! :faint: :faint: :faint: :earseek: We have a towel amimal KILLER amongst us!!!! :rotfl2:

I guess we were lucky, we had towel animals all 8 nights, plus they arranged our collection of Disney stuffed critters. Here's just a few of the set ups we came "home" to!

I like that last pic the best. I guess they actually dyed the towels black to make it look like a more realistic dog. Now instead of just expecting boring old plain white towel animals, from now on we'll be disappointed if we don't get several real-life-colored ones. I'd even leave a bigger tip to get those.

Chicago526- which longhouse were you staying in that you got all those towel critters? We've stayed in Fiji twice and never got any.

Last week in the GCH at the bell services desk there was a really neat towel animal. I think it was a lobster, but my bf swears it was a caterpiller! :rotfl2:

The only times I've got towel animals was at CBR and ASM- we stayed at CBR 3 different times and got them all 3 times.

We stayed at ASM a few months after it first opened and got towel animals, we had never heard of them before and thought they were so neat!!

I think they are cute, but I'm not disappointed or mad if I don't get one- a clean room is more important to me :rotfl:

Give Missy enough dog treats, she'll go down and pose for you!

We stayed in Aotearoa, 3rd floor, lagoon view but I can't remember the room number (perfect view of MK and the Castle! Outstanding!). I have no idea if the $5 a tip we left helped or not. And I would have tipped that much even w/out the animals, those ladies work hard for their money at a job I'd never do in a million years!

They are cute, and I when we went I hoped we would get them but didn't pin my hopes and dreams on getting them, you know? But it was very nice to have, and every evening we'd wonder what new animal we'd get to see! I don't have a picture I can post, but one night we had an elephant!

I am sorry to say but I am being sincere. LOL! I know, pathetic!

Go on the Disney cruise, they do elaborate ones every day.

When I went they made us a Monkey, hung it on the drapes and put my lost sunglasses on it! I think we tipped him extra just for finding my sunglasses!

Not sure what this info will be worth, but I'll give it a shot :goodvibes We've just returned from a week's stay at POP Century and never received a towel animal (not even one :guilty: ) I began to wonder, so I asked a few of the mousekeepers why this might be ~

They told me that if they see "children items" (stuffed animals, etc.) they will make an effort to create the towel animals for them. They kind of giggled at me and said (if they think of it/remember it) they will try and make one for families traveling without kids the morning of their departure.
