I have a freind in VMK that has a lot of stuff. He has a message in his signature that says leaving VMK. I foudn him in one of his rooms and asked him why he was leaving. He said he decided to sell his character on ebay.
He is selling the user id, password and the winner will get all the rooms and items he has.
Of course a bunch of us told him it was wrong VMK doesn't allow it. His response was people still do it and VMK have not done anything yet. I still said but if it's wrong even if you dont' get caughte it's still wrong. Integrity is not in the VMK dictionary and I think it shoud be.
I doubt he is 18 from dealing with him, sometimes you can just tell. So he is either going to break ebays terms of service by being under age and selling or he is getting a parent to do it for him. Which is worse I can't say!
Sigh, I understand capitalism but I think that selling virtual items for real cash is just wrong but if someone will sell, there is someone that will buy. I can't help feeling that it sends such a wrong message. Someone doesn't have to work for their stuff they can just buy whatever they want. I sell on ebay often and I have the means to buy that stuff, I would never do it because it would take away the fun, the thrill of the hunt, the excitement over trading.
So I am going to watch ebay with disappontment that a friend went "to the dark side"
