Trip Report Day 4 June 10
Can you have too much of the Magic Kingdom?
Reminder of our cast Me, 3 days away from the big 3-0, DH 30, DS 4 and DD 11 months exactly today!
In our last installment, we bought park hoppers and switched up our plans some. That means that based on the old plans, we are spending yet another day entirely at the Magic Kingdom. This means 4 days in a row we have been at the MK. Kids love it, DH and I are ready for something different.
5:30 A.M. Our busiest morning yet. Must get up, eat breakfast and be in line for EMH since MK is opening at 8:00. My goal is to be in line at 7:40. We get up and get going and get there right on time. The lines are already pretty long to get in, but we're about the 3rd family in our line. Would they let us in early like I keep hearing about? At about 7:50, they start letting us through the turnstiles. But, they block us and dont let us pass the tunnel under the railroad. People start cramming and cramming in. It gets very crowded, hot and miserable very quick. DH is looking at me wondering why in the world we did this. When they finally let us go, the push to get in was unbelievable. One guy behind us literally pushed between me and DDs stroller (DH was pushing her, I was beside it). He hit her stroller so hard, he knocked her bottle off, DHs water bottle and the whole dang backpack hanging out of the bottom basket. If he knocked the stroller over, I would have had to inflict some major pain on him. DH said something to him, but he ran off without as much as a backwards glance at us. Then the crowds rushed around us bumping into us as we bent over to try to pick everything up. That was probably the lowest point of our trip and what makes us not like being around people so much sometimes. So, my message to this guy, not that he would be reading this, but I hope one day your kids are embarrassed to be around someone who thinks it is THAT important to get to **insert favorite ride here** and may the fleas of a thousand camels infest your armpits. There, I feel better now, dont you?
Now we can move on to more pleasant things
We got to Snow White first and walked right on. No one was in the car with us. DH stayed with DD while I went with my son. He loved it! He wasnt scared at all. After that we moved on to Tomorrowland where DS and DH rode the Tomorrowland race cars. They had a good time. While they were doing that, I got fastpasses for Buzz. The return time was after 10, but I grabbed them anyway just because I didnt know what the line would do between now and then. When they were done, we went back over to Buzz Lightyear. The waittime said 15 minutes, but we went on anyway and were on the cars in less than 5. I didnt know how DD would take this, so we tried to do the baby swap. This was the only ride where we were ever told that they didnt do it. They also did not have an exit for me to get out of line, so I had to take DD on the ride. After this morning, I wasnt going to let anything else upset me, so I just blew it off and took her on it. She enjoyed it a lot. She kept playing with the stick and moving our car around! DH and DS rode in the same car and took this game very seriously! I kept turning our car to see theirs and it was fun watching them shoot at everything! They had a good time. When we got off, we of course had to buy pictures of the ride. It was one of our favorites. After that, we rode the Tomorrowland Transit Authority and then headed back to Main Street for some souvenir shopping. On our way out of the park, we FINALLY caught some photopass people and had some pics made in front of the castle and in front of the train station! We were definitely ready to move on to other parks, but, unfortunately, we had reservations for dinner at CRT for 4:30, so we would be back one more time
During the bus ride home, we tried to figure out where to eat lunch. Pepper Market was definitely out. We finally decided on hopping over to Epcot to get some counter service in Mexico (I am SO loving these hoppers!). DH was missing our tex-mex at home. I told him that the Disers all warned me that this would not be tex-mex, but more like the real thing. DH liked the thought of trying something different. It was sprinkling, so we ate outside under an umbrella with it lightly raining. We were loving it. Apparently, were in the minority since we saw only one other family eating and you could tell they were trying to hurry up and leave. We both ordered the sampler platter that had a quesadilla, a chicken taco and a beef burrito. All was good but the chicken - pretty rubbery. The quesadillas were different from home in that they only had cheese on them. I could have had those all day. Hmmm, fried carbs with a lot of cheese, now theres a healthy meal! The churros for dessert were awesome. Yet another thing I could have eaten a ton of!
With lunch done, we headed home for a nap and what will be our last time to go to the Magic Kindgom.
We woke up with just enough time to spare and hurried on into the castle. No sightseeing this time! We were admitted right away, but stopped to get our pictures made with Cinderella. That was fun! The atmosphere was great in the castle, but the wait staff seemed rushed and stressed I would make the connection later that this was their first day of having the character lunch, and here we were eating dinner at 4:30. The food was not great, and DD was starting to have enough of table service restaurants. She was being a buckethead during this meal and ended up in DHs arms most of the time! I think I would have to try this place again knowing that it may have been a bad day for them. Otherwise we wouldnt go back. Since DD was getting grouchy, we ordered the chocolate slipper desserts to go and went to eat them in the covered spot by Ariels grotto. They were pretty good. Then it was time to hook em and head out of there! We headed straight out of the Magic Kingdom for the last time. On our way out, I had to turn around and take one last look at the castle for myself and say a little prayer that this time when I vow to return again soon it wont take me 8 years to come back!
Coming up tomorrow: Star Wars Weekend at MGM! And more rain!
And, a special thanks to everyone who is reading these reports. I appreciate it! I am saving these all to word documents so the kids can read them later when they are looking through the photo albums. What a great way to help them remember our special trip!
