My 10 year old plays and I won't let him do PUGs on either H or A. I would rather have him in the safety of our guild (it is a family guild also) where I know people will be helpful, not hurtful, and will not be yelling rude things all the time. (And yes, we have the profanity filter on his account).

Love, love, love that you have a gnome mage with green hair and green eyes....because that is my girl too! No ponytails - mine is that strange up-do hair, but still in the green.

We have 12 & 13 yr old boys, but they don't raid or do 5 mans. When they get to play they play with either just the 2 of them or with their 10 yr old cousin. The 13 yr old has done very few 5 mans, but only with family. I would never ever let them do anything with my guild. The few times they have played around on my main, mainly b/c they were farming for me, I turned G-chat off. My guild is without a doubt an adult only guild, and can get pretty nasty at times. Then I set my status as "is being played by Joey (or John) will not respond to whispers.

My mage actually started as a draenei. My main at the time was a green eyed gnome with green pigtails. Then when my mage became my main, I couldn't stand the creepy goat legs, so I paid to make my mage a human (not wanting two toons that I played equally to look exactly the same). I didn't like her being human b/c it was boring, so I payed to get her made draenei again. Then the goat legs kept creeping me out, and I wasn't playing my warrior much at all, so I payed to make her a gnome with green eyes and green pigtails. I though about making her Worgen when Cata came out, but I would miss the green pigtails too much. I call them her "green pigtails of power

My boys have all their chat off except for guild. They are in a PG rated guild with some RL friends of mine and I know they stay appropriate. They are only allowed in pugs with an approved adult escort. I know I have had to exit a pug with them because of the language when people wouldn't stop after we asked nicely.

I hope everyone is having a good Memorial Day weekend. Between school and lawn work, my DH and I were able to get our belfs to 78 today. We were so excited. We thought, "WOO HOO Cata quests here we come." Not so much, though. We thought you could get Cata quests at 78, but you can't get them until 80. Hopefully, DH and I can grind the last 2 levels before he has to raid tonight.
Also, I stated another toon on Alleria. I have only played on Kirin Tor, but have friends that moved to Alleria. I have a worgen mage. I'll level her when I have some free time, or if DH is raiding.

What a bad day for PUG healers.

We had 4 from my guild today in heroic Deadmines.... my 1st time. Not bad for me... 6200 DPS. But our 1st healer was bad and she knew it. In fact she said to boot her if we wanted to as she knew she couldn't keep up.

Second PUG healer was fine, but left when someone came to her door. Third PUG healer was not good, and just dropped out on his own. He too, knew he couldn't keep up.

Finally we got a healer who was bad but thought he was great. What a jackstand. He complained about everything and he wasn't doing what the tank said - to heal the victims at the final boss. He said he had no idea he could do that... well, the tank had been telling to heal the victims.

Then he starts complaining about how long this is taking and that it's our fault, and that we all stink, but he is good...

So in guild chat - remember we had 4 guildies - we decided to tell the guy to leave. He wouldn't he said because he didn't want the deserter debuff. He said we would have to boot him. We tried but couldn't. Maybe because we already booted the 1st healer?

In any case, more whining about how long it was taking and refusing to drop, so our plan was we all just walked away from out computers for a few minutes..... and the guy is still there cursing us out.... so we walked away again. FINALLY he dropped out.

Sadly, tho, I never finished. We had dinner with friends to go to. It was so close as we were almost finished I guess. When I signed back on I had 71g in repair bills. All my wearable gear was red.... made it kind of warm.

Don't you just love it when the person yelling the most about people sucking is usually the one doing the most sucking? That is one of my biggest probs with pugs. That and when you get to a boss, and the item that the person was there for didn't drop (or did) and they leave right after that boss.
What drives my DH nuts on his healer is when he's yelling that he's OOM and the tank chain pulls, like they have to kill everything within 1 minute of walking in, or Blizzard deletes your toon forever, and then the tank QQ's when they die. I keep telling him that he needs to tell them, "my blue bar empty = your health bar being empty, simple as that."

We finally hit 80 last night on our belf!! We only got to do a few quest b/c DH had to get back to his Ally main for raid. Now we just have to decide what we are going to do with them when they hit 85. We hadn't really thought of it before now. Our friends on Alleria really want us to move them there so we can raid with them. That would mean that I would probably have to learn to heal. We have done a few things where I had to heal and dps both, but I haven't healed a raid or even a 5 man. We were able to 2 man the Ring of Blood event in the Zul'Drak area, and we did it when it was a yellow quest. I think it was made easier by the fact that he is a pally and can heal himself if needed and I can heal and dps.

I always solo that one at around 82 because I can never find anybody willing to help. This time tho, I did it at 85 just for giggles. Not geared, just a new 85, and it was easy peasy.( as a mage ) And yeah, a pally has it easy there.

I have just started buying heirlooms. I hope to zoom my dwarf priest right up to 85. I have healed even as a SP priest before, but this time I may go straight holy. I have never healed past level 60. It's gonna be a whole new ballgame.

Seems like everyone was hit or miss with Healing this weekend…Random BRD-UC PUG yesterday: group had wiped, healer left. I came in…. Tank began speeding through the rooms. Doing massive pulls, not waiting for me to get quests after I asked, or stopping for mana. After one boss, he did recount, yelled “pathetic DPS” and left. We were all so thankful. The next Tank we got was very good, and we finished the instance no problem, and I shared my trick for getting the “Heart of the Mountain “quest done super easy. (if anyone wants to know ask me)

I am working on lvling my healer to run with my guild… I’m a lvl 53 holy priest. The thing I have noticed that unless I have an especially bad tank/DPS group, healing at this point is a snooze… Should it be at this point? When should it be challenging? I don’t mind continuously running instances to lvl, get more experience, I just want to know when it will be challenging.

I have heard people say it NEVER gets challenging.

BTW, the tanks that zoom through and don't let me mana up are left to die. My dwarf is holy, and still low level, but I tell them ONE TIME - "you want to live, you let me get mana and do my quests, and if not, you die". Sometimes I get booted, but usually it goes ok after that.

The BoA stuff helps a ton. My DH and I were able to get from 71 to 80 this weekend. We started late on Saturday and we weren't rushing. We took the time to discover the entire area and find all the FP's. It also help if you are on rested xp. Just watch which items you have, some BoA gear the bonus is only good up to level 80.

WOO HOO!!! I just checked MMO and the Winged Guardian is now in the Blizzard store. I need that mount. My DH keeps telling me "no", like that is going to stop me. I see that as nothing but a challenge.

Why do people seemingly want to do whatever they can to kill the AH marketplace? Mostly I am talking about farmed mats.

On my server, whiptail usually sells for about 40g a stack. And I have never had much issue selling it at that price. Then along comes some yahoo who puts up 20 stacks at 27g a stack, when the next higher price is 38g..... then you see people putting up stacks at 22g, 21g......

I don't get it. You not only kill it for others, but you make way less money for yourself than you need to. If you want to undercut, that's fine, but why throw away all that money for yourself?

So, yesterday, I bought about 50 stacks of whiptail at prices of 20g - 28g to resell at a time when they do sell at the normal price. In fact, I sold about 20 stacks yesterday for 11g a stack more than I paid for them, in about 30 minutes on the AH. Still, tho, I have about 30 stacks I still need to sell from yesterday and I won't put them up on the AH because today the prices are even lower. Fortunately I have a bank guild to store this stuff until prices normalize.

Between what I had, and what I bought, I'm sitting on about 75 stacks of whiptail that won't hit the Ah until I can at least see 37g a stack.

Anyway, I have a REALLY COOL story to tell you.

A few days ago when I was looking to improve my DPS, I put a message up on the WoW forums from Blizzard. I got nothing but help there except for 1 troll response. Everybody offered solid advice.

Anyway, last night, guildies and I were doing low level dungeons for achievements when I got a whisper from someone I never heard of. It seems that the guy saw my post on the WoW forums and noticed that he and I were on the same server, and that we are both arcane mages. Well, he was getting ready to go raid, but in his whisper he said that he wanted to "help anybody who tries to learn to play better."

OK..... so what does that mean? Then the guy says "Gotta go raid".... I don't know what that is all about yet.

About an hour later my mailbox icon turns on. What is that about, I wonder.... Turns out the guy sent me 6 enchants, 3 glyphs, and ( 2 ) +40 red gems! And a note that said, "sorry I couldn't chat more last night. I hope these help!"

So, I sent him a thank you and added him to friends.

I see a win win here. I typically under price by 10% so my stuff sells faster. I have over 50k gold so I dont need top end price. Additionally, I really dont care if other get their prices or if I drive their prices down because, I dont play for them. Nothing in my 15$ says I have to price mats so you or anyone else gets more gold.

The problem with MMO's is when people expect everyone else to play their way. Whether it is AH, raiding, PvP, how to enchant or gem gear etc. Just play your game.

I just found this thread and thought i would stop in to say hello to my fellow players. I have been playing wow for five years now and i raid casually (2-3 nights a week). My husband and kids also play, but they spend much less time in game than i do. We have made multiple disneyland trips and are headed to wdw for the first time this october - it was either disney or blizzcon and the mouse won.

Yes, but I am peeved because I couldn't sell the hundreds of whiptail I farmed for a normal price because people are undercutting to ridiculously low prices when all they needed to do was cut as little as a few copper pcs off and they would have sold before any others. If something easily sells for 40g - 45g ALL THE TIME, why would you sell it for 25g to 30g. It's going to sell regardless as long as you are the cheapest. ( talking about mats, not items that might not sell at any price )

I certainly know they can do whatever they want. It is, after all, their $15 a month. But why sell yourself short when there is no need? Just plain dumb. It's like giving your ( virtual ) money away.

What youre talking about is value perception. If they got the value they desire, what does it matter to you? Youre still applying YOUR values and bias to their action.

Maybe they think the market is over priced, and want to bring it back to normalcy.

The markets are always over inflated with new releases.

Either way, youre perceiving a shortfall based on your value perception.
