The Woman Report- Update 4/24 Final Thoughts p. 74

I see some really nice pairs in there - which brings me to ask, "Aren't you the woman who says she wears sweats all the time?" ;)

Yup!! So why do I need all those shoes?? I don't know.... It's an illness. Hello, I'm Linnie and I'm a Shoe-aholic... :sad2: Sometimes we go out and I like to have a pair of "fancy" shoes. Most days I just wear my Crocs...

:lovestruc :lovestruc

My favorites are the Birkenstocks on the floor! :goodvibes :hippie:

I like those too-they're waterproof. My mom got them for me. I always bring them to WDW with me for going to the pool (but I don't wear them in the pool!!). They're so nice to put on after a day in the parks b/c they have these little nubbies on the soles that rub my feet-it's like getting a foot massage when I walk, which feels so good after wearing sneakers all day! :upsidedow

I showed HHBG and he said:

"SEE, they think THAT's a lot of shoes. I'm right. get rid of some."

You have a lot of white shoes. Do you wear a lot of white?

Uh, no. I don't. I just buy shoes when they're on sale. I love getting a good buy and can't pass them up. I rarely wear white. Although now that I've had endometrial ablation, I've been wearing white more an more. Way TMI, I know, but it's true. I avoided white b/c of well, I didn't want an embarrassing moment. Now I that I don't have that, I can wear any color. Freedom!! It's a beautiful thing. Whoever came up with that "Have a happy period" slogan is just insane. Mine were NEVER happy. Our realtor saw my closet at our last house and said, "Wow Linnie! You really have a lot of pairs of black pants." I needed them!! Now, not so much. I'm branching out!!

That's actually what I was thinking. I wear sweats and jeans all the time, so I only have about eight pairs of shoes -- you know, the basic colors/styles. And I only wear about four of them on a regular basis.

I can't wear jeans on account of my stomach. It's severely misshapen after having LA. So, here goes. Gulp. I"m having reconstructive surgery on it later in the spring. I've been seeing a surgeon who thinks he can correct it in 2 procedures, but it sounds so vain that I don't like to tell people I"m having it done. I got an inheritance from my grandma and am throwing caution to the wind and having it done! I told him I don't care about scars and all that, I just want to feel good again and be able to wear things that don't have an elastic waist. I can't stand anything without any give around my middle. My stomach will never see the light of day again and that's fine. I just want to feel good. I don't care how it looks.

Shoes really are my weakness though, getting back to shoes. I love shoes. My teaching assistant told me one year that I wore "really weird" shoes, but I could pull it off. I love unusual ones. My favorite pair is a brown pair that is hard to see in the picture. My grandma gave them to me when she was dying. She got them in the 40's. She thought LeeAndra could use them for play shoes, but I didn't think so! I loved them.

I have a brown outfit that I didn't have shoes to match and when Grandma gave me those, I knew they'd go perfectly with it. I wore them to Buzz's last dealer meeting and got tons of compliments-even from the men!! Plus they were very comfortable. My mom saw me wearing them and was so happy! She asked right away, "Were those Grandma's???" :cloud9: Yep! I love them.

Ahhh, shoes.... My real true love...Sorry Buzz...

She has at LEAST that many in the garage also.

We leave at 5 a.m.!

What!! I thought we left at 6!!
Great. There goes my sleep. My 2nd favorite thing after shoes!

So what's the schedule? We've all been waiting....:yay:

I have absolutely no idea. What kind of a pre-trippie is this anyway!! :sad2: I just go along for the ride. I'll report on it when we get back and let you know what we did. I'm bringing a notebook to make notes. I'm also bringing journals for the kids. Good practice for their writing. They'll love me for thinking of that!! Especially Trey who hates anything with fine motor!!

I only have one pair of flip flops- black Sketchers. They are so comfortable and- they're washable. If you buy anything in leather in S. Texas, you have to throw them out after the summer, b/c they smell so bad. P.U!

I own a pair of brown crocs (they hurt my feet), brown clogs and black cute medium-heeled mary jane slide-ons. I have one pair of brown heels and one pair of black heels. They never see daylight, really... I'm a simple gal. ;)

Crocs hurt your feet?? Wow!! I've never heard that. I love Sketchers. You just reminded me I have to go get my Sketchers from the exercise room for tomorrow. I wear my sneakers on the plane and in the parks. I need to go grab them. I've worked out twice since Dec. I've been too sick. I've got shoes everywhere in this house. I need more shoe racks Buzz!! :rolleyes1

I can't believe you guys are leaving us with no idea what youre plans are.

Well, have fun anyway... I'm taking my glass of wine to the bathtub. :lovestruc

Well Buzz knows the plans. He usually has them memorized, but since he got the flu he's been absolutely worthless. He slept til noon today. Napped for 2 hours after that, went out to eat with us, and is napping right now. I yelled at him to get up and play with me, but he won't. So I'm Dis'ing. That guy is really getting on my nerves. He smelled the bedroom up so bad, it smells like an elderly man has been in there. :sad2:

That sounds heavenly, HSM. I wish I had some wine....

I got some!! Wine=gud.

If it makes you feel better about yourself, then go for it! :thumbsup2 I don't think it's vain at all.

Opps, I deleted the part about the crocs. but, yes, they hurt. They'll rub a sore on the sides of my feet if I wear them too long. The little bumps hurt my feeties. :headache:

I have another bottle. I wish I could send you a glass through the computer. I found this Oak Leaf brand at the store for $3. It's pretty good, really. So, I bought two this time!

I'm off for real now. I got caught up taking those quizzes on the TFW for a few minutes. :sad2: Good night and have a great trip!!! :woohoo:

Have a great trip!

If you will feel better, then the surgery is worth it. :thumbsup2

I think crocs are uncomfortable, too. Birkenstocks, too. I have weird feet.

I love shoes, too. There's even "shoe porn" on my PTR.

Linnie, good for you for making yourself feel better. Don't even worry about it. :goodvibes

Oh, I guess I understand that- they could be very abrasive. Geez. That's too bad. Oak Leaf!! I love it!! I had some the other night!! Thank you and good night to you too!! :goodvibes

Thank you!! I didn't know you had a PTR. I gotta check it out!!

I hope the surgery makes me feel better. I'm very uncomfortable in my skin now. I hate telling people I"m having a "tummy tuck" because to me it's more reconstructive surgery and kind of almost embarassing to admit. I don't want to seem vain or anything. As I said, I'm not doing it for looks. I just want to feel better. If it hadn't been for the inheritance I don't know that I could've done it. It's supposed to be major surgery-I won't be able to stand upright for awhile afterwards or lift anything over 5 pounds for 6 weeks. It'll be an inconvenience that's for sure. I'm in a piano recital 3 weeks after surgery so I just hope I'm able to do that. I don't want to let my teacher down!! And I've worked really really hard for the recital!! :guilty:

I actually have two PTRs. :surfweb:

I hope the surgery works out for you. I have looked into the same surgery. I had two c-sections in 12 months, and my Dr basically told me that if I want to get rid of the serious skin pouch/overhang I have right now, my only option is to have it surgically removed after I'm done losing weight.

I'm sure it will be similar to c-section recovery. Just take care of yourself and DON'T OVERDO IT.

Have a GREAT TRIP!! Write all about it when you get home!! popcorn::

if it makes you feel better then that is all that matters.

Linnie there is nothing to be embarrassed or ashamed of, if it makes you feel better about yourself then that is really important and not frivolous at all.

I know, for $3 it's the best! I'm glad you're confirming that it's good, b/c it's sounds so bad when I say I'm drinking $3 wine from Walmart! :lmao:

My mom had surgery a year ago to remove, like, 20# of skin from when she had gastric bypass. It was major surgery. Just take care of yourself and take it slow.

Linnie - just wanted to wish you a wonderful trip!

If you do get to meet up with the Goofster & Sorceress, give them a big ole' group hug from me :goodvibes

I agree with Blue! Have a great trip!!! And we want a live report too!

Have a great trip Linnie! Hopefully when you get back, you can get the TR running more quickly than... other TRs...

:goodvibes

Just wondering how your first day went!

Linnie told me they would be checking in on their vacation when they get a chance. Probably some evening as Trey doesn't like to be out after dark.

Hope you all are having a wonderful time. can't wait to hear about it.
