Our Final Day of Paradise - Castaway Cay Day!
Its the usual routine, Mickey Calls but DD doesnt wake up! She once again has been out late! Luckily our excursion isnt until 9:15 a.m.
I get up, pour my coffee and head out to the verandah! The storm that was to hit last night did not hit and we are arriving at Castaway Cay! It was amazing to watch as we twirled around as we docked! The island was as beautiful as I remembered!
We were going Fishing with Patrick and wasnt quite sure what to bring but knew to slather the sunscreen on, bring a towel or two, a camera, and since was not sure whether anything was being provided, ended up buying a bottle of water. As it turned out, they provided drinks, but be careful, they do not provide a bathroom!
There is a hold up to get off the ship and we are all crowded on deck two waiting to get off! Its already 9:15, the time we were to meet at the boat. They would not leave without us, would they!?! They finally let us off the ship and we head over. I was worried for nothing; the excursion people werent quite ready for us. Patrick shows up and we are lead to his boat! Nice boat! Right now, there are only three of us, and Patrick is hurrying to get us out. There are four others to join our group but as of yet have not shown up. I hope they make it, especially knowing how much they would be out if they didnt! They make, and I finally get to meet Disneylover5! We sailed at the same time last year on the Wonder and I have only had the pleasure of speaking with her on the boards! It was nice to finally put a face to the name!
We head out! I am not sure what Bottom Fishing entails but hey, we are out on a beautiful boat, on a beautiful day and having fun!
We way anchor and thank goodness they put the bait on! You just drop the hook and bait, wait for it to hit bottom and then reel in a bit! Then the fish are supposed to bite! We were not having much luck at this first spot so we sailed on!
This is when the real fun began! Once one fish started to bite, they all did! What an array of different fish! I cant remember names, you know me, never forget a face, but a name, well, lets just say it takes a while!LOL Between the seven of us we must have caught at least 40 fish that morning! But the best was when a SHARK was caught! That was awesome! The one guy went for a stronger rod and caught a really big shark! DD was also in on the action! She caught hers! I must have had one on my line cause that sucker nearly took me overboard! Of course, he broke the line and got away! Thats my story and Im stickin to it! Hey, isnt that what all fishermen say!LOL
The morning went by pretty quickly and before we knew it, it was time to head back to Castaway Cay! If you want to do a great excursion, try Fishing with Patrick; Bottom fishing at Castaway Cay! If you dont believe me, just ask The Guy with the Fish on these boards! He fishes regularly and her enjoyed it! Well, we dont fish regularly but we definitely enjoyed! (pics on the DisGallery)
After we docked, we said our good-byes and headed for a quick lunch! DD had a hairbraiding appointment for 1:00 and it was already 12:30! Cookies was good as usual, and as DD said, much better than last year! Hey this year she was not sick!LOL
We headed over to the hairbraiding and I was surprised to see that they were taking people without appointments! What gives? Oh well, waited until a braider became available. I told DD that this year only a headband and not your whole head since it hurt! Well a headband also hurts! I also had a brain ****! Since they were taking people without appointments, I asked the girl if she could put a few of those in my hair! My thinking was, why should DD have all the Fun! Plus it is a great way not to have to do anything with your hair for TWO WEEKS! And since we would have to be up early for Immigration the next day, would be more time to sleep! Not really but was worth a shot! As it turns out, two headbands=same price for full head! Also be aware, you loose a lot of hair when you take them out!
After this we went shopping. Had to purchase a few pins and then we went back to grab our snorkel stuff! I chickened out! Too cold for me! Plus by this time the sun was gone! We were also suppose to do the Bridge Tour but after hearing about how BORING! DD begged me not to go! I figured, well ok! But you phone Minybear and tell her! Sorry guys!
After about half an hour, DD got bored and we headed back to the ship! It was almost time to go anyhow. DD did not want to go to dinner, Triton, no dressing up for her! Hey I was lucky I did get wonderful Formal pics! After a wonderful dinner, headed back to the cabin to pack! I warned DD not to show up until I finished! This was gonna be ugly trying to get everything back into the suitcases! Luckily, our room hostess was willing to take a few things off my hands that I did not want to take back!
As it turned out, I did get everything back in and only had to sit on two of the suitcases to get them closed!
After I finished took a walk around the ship! What a difference this years trip was from last years! We both had a Magical Time! And the best part, WE ARE GOING AGAIN NEXT YEAR!
Final thoughts to follow!
