We were at the VWL in Early November and I thought the hairdryer was pretty cheap. I am not sure if they are the same as in the rooms at the WL but if you have room you may want to pack your own. Have a fun trip!

Hi folks!

We're pondering upgrading to the deluxe dining plan for our next trip, as we tend to prefer sit down meals to CS. I was just wondering if you need an ADR for breakfast at WCC, or could you get in as a walk-up? Also am I right in thinking that there's not so much in the way of shennanigans at breakfast? Not sure how much I could handle before coffee....

DD and I walked in for breakfast in October on a Sunday morning. It was not crowded at all. There were some shennanigans going on at other tables, but I sat and watched with my coffee and DD colored (they even brought her extra coloring pages). They did let all the kids ride the horse on a stick all around the resturant which was cute. Goofy leads that (he's not there, but he's talking over the loud speaker). Your server will (or should) be able to tell if you are "in the mood" or not. Ours did and she was very sweet.

Good morning WL fans!!!

I have 2 questions;

1st Can I buy beer and wine at the Merchantile and is it insanely expensive? I'm not looking for a lot. Just a bit if DH and I want to sit out on the balcony and relax when the kiddos are in bed.

2nd I think I'm going to ship a box of stuff, diapers etc, when should I ship it so I have it when we check in?

We will be arriving at WL on Sunday also! We booked in July but it still feels like it's been forever.

It's our first stay at WL so I'm very excited. We were supposed to do WL last trip but when I told DH about the 40% off he wanted to stay at GF. Which was beautiful and I loved it, don't get me wrong. But I was also a little disappointed to miss out on WL. I've always wanted to stay there and DH prefers to be on the monorail.

Can anyone tell me what the number to private dining is at the WL? My mom wants to order something for us as a surprise when we go and Im not sure if she should just call the main resort # or if there is a number for private dining?
P.S.
She is going to order the cookie tray or the chocolate truffle box

May I ask...WL has a bakery?? Jan will be our 1st stay there & still learning stuff about the place-laundry, restaurants the layout etc.

I should have put up a disclaimer. I have not tried to use that number for the WL bakery since Dec. of 06. We went for my daughters birthday and I had the number for the bakery's at several of the resorts so I could order a birthday cake. I hope it is still good.

If I wanted to send a box ahead of time what would the address be and about how soon before the trip should I send it?

I'm still going back and forth about sending the box or ordering from Garden Grocer!

I have heard some podcasters say that you should send the package about 3-5 days in advance and make sure you put your name and reservation # on the package. I am trying garden grocer as I have to pack diapers and baby supplies and the cost would outweigh the delivery fee of $12 for garden grocer.

I call the resort's main line and ask to be transferred to private dining. We've ordered cakes and treats to be delivered to rooms through private dining and that has worked like a charm. 407-824-3200 If we needed something beyond the usual scope, a CM from the bakery called us back.

(Can I state that I am a little worried about that WL Bakery number being published on the disboards? Many, many people read this thread and it is now google-able. I would hate for them to be inundated with phone calls when Disney clearly prefers you NOT call the bakeries directly. Once the direct line to the GF was published here, the woman responsible was buried by customer phone calls and demands - that is not too strong a word, IMO -and I believe it was directly responsible for her reluctance to help people plan custom cakes anymore. JMO)
