I miss this resort. this has been my favorite one i've stayed at!

Great theme, Great food, Great staff!

two quick questions - first, is there a direct line to the resort? I want to call direct to make a request.

second, we're getting a pack-n-play as we're bringing our 7 month ds - and we're getting in about midnight. will the packnplay already be set up for us in the room? if not, do you think they would do it for us if we called that day and asked them to b/c of the late hour with our son?

The pack-n-play is in the closet in the room. I know it doesn't take long to set up once you get in. You could call and ask them to set it up but that would mean they would have to assign your room before you arrived. I don't know the likelihood of them doing that but is would never hurt to ask.

Good luck!

I thought I might pop into this thread to say hi, since DH and I staying at the Wilderness Lodge in January! Very excited!! :yay:

We haven't really decided if we want to request a room location yet. We booked a Woods View room and asked for a higher floor if possible, but I don't feel as if I know enough to request a specific location! We've never actually been to WL before, and even though I've read a lot and seen squillions of maps and photos, it's still a bit hard to imagine the layout and imagine where we'd like to be.

So my question is... Are there any bad locations!? I know "bad" is a confusing word in the first place, but you know what I mean. Is there anywhere I should be wary of being placed? How far away is the furthest room from the lobby, for example?

Hope I'm making sense!! :rolleyes1

You're making sense...;)

I think it all depends on what you want, because like you said there really are no "bad" woods view room. For exapmle, if you want the door to your room to open to the lobby you should request that...but your view will probably be just trees. If you want a more quite room with a chance of getting a view of the castle request north wing over looking the otter pond. Some of these rooms are a long walk back to the lobby...but they are very close to the boat dock.

There are pro and cons depending on what you like.

how far in advance does the wl book up? I'm trying to book for november but nothing is available

I haven't had time to read through this entire thread...boy is it long! ;) How long is the boat ride from WL to MK? Is there usually a long wait for the boat ride? I know that will vary...but just a general idea. TIA!

I believe the boats arrive approx. every 20 minutes. Once the boat pulls away from the dock it's approx. a 10 minute ride. We've rarely had a long wait to get on a boat when we've stayed at the lodge.

Don't believe the front desk CMs about when the boats start running ;)

I had a KTTK tour last Wednesday and checked to see when the MK boat started running as I had to be there by 8am. I was told 6am and when I got to the dock the CM running the Contemporary/FW boat said that it started at 8:30am except for Thursdays :scared1:

So I took the boat to CR and the monorail from CR to MK and was there in plenty of time. Thankfully I asked or else I would have missed the tour

If you have an early breakfast at MK you need to either take the bus or the boat to CR and the monorail to MK (which normally will take longer).

Hi, Do all rooms have a blacony?:confused3 I am thinking we would like to be close to the lobby, Will that be a long walk to the pool and boat doc? I have a standard view room so I doubt they will put us in a wing due to the woods/courtyard view- what do you think? What type of view does a "LOBBY ROOM" have? Okay and one last thing-- does anyone have pictures of a standard room view, perferably a room near lobby.....I know thats asking alot.;)
TIA:goodvibes

Or when you get to the CR, you can walk. It's 10 minutes and should be shorter than taking the monorail.

True! We've done that before when we were short on time as it is 4 stops to get to the MK. But I love the monorail :goodvibes

There is a lot more going on in Nov. now then ever before. There is the end of the food and wine festival, super soaps weekend, jersey week, veterans day, thanksgiving....

Hello..! I posted this question on another WL thread too.

Has anyone booked a two bedroom villa through CRO with a request for a "dedicated" two bedroom and received that room? Thanks!

What do you want to know? My family and I (5 of us total) stayed in a deluxe room, aka Jr. Suite (Room #4000) this past November.

Hey- Well, I'm just wondering if the deluxe room is a good choice for 5 people- I've done some research, and it seems to be one of my best options, unless I can find someone to rent points for a 2BR WLV. In your room (4000) where was that located? How was your view? Do you happen to know whether these deluxe rooms book up quickly or not? Because I'm planning on going during the 2nd week in Dec. which is supposed to be a value season. Anything else you can tell me about the room/ resort would be great! Thanks!

Room 4000 is at the end of the resort by the boat dock. With 3 kids under 7 (7, 5 and 2) and 2 adults it was ok. By my standards a bit tight, but I enjoy a lot of space. We had a view of trees and bay lake, through the trees you could make out Wishes by night. The deluxe Jr Suites are at the ends of the resort. Resort being a U the deluxe rooms would be at the tips of the U. Feel free to ask any additional questions. :)

If I may jump in with a question...do you happen to have any pictures of the room or the view from the room? How long was your walk to the lobby? Pool? Playground? Dock?

Sorry, I have way too many questions. ;) But I do thank you kindly in advance. :thumbsup2

I don't have pictures of the room, however you can find some HERE about half way down the page.

The walk to the lobby wasn't too bad. The elevators were closest to Roaring Forks. From our room if you walked down the stairs that were right outside of the room, you could leave the hotel and walk to the boats in about 5-10 minutes. We had kids and a stroller and usually stopped at the Old Faithful Club for snacks before we went anywhere. Since the pool is close to Roaring Forks, you can figure the walk to the pool would be about 5 mintues or less. The playground is closer to the other side of the hotel, and take a touch longer. The thing about WL is that with the themeing and hotel looking as it does, the longer walks arn't that bad IMHO. :)

Does anyone happen to know whether or not the Roaring Forks (or any other place in the WL) offers snacks that can be used as one of the snack credits for the Dining Plan?

Hey Troops N Goofs, I just saw where you are buying into the DVC membership! That's awesome!! So incredibly jealous though :rotfl: So are you going to make your home resort The Wilderness Lodge?? That's definitely one of my life goals to by a DVC membership... anyway, just thought I'd say congrats!
