Did I read somewhere that a PHOTOPASS Station/kiosk, (i.e. a place to order prints, cd's, etc) something was going to be opening in the WL lobby?? If so, does anyone know when? We'll be there Oct. 18-26! THANKS!!

It is already there. Over across from the Mercantile before the doors to the bus area.:thumbsup2

He has become a close friend to us as Im sure he has many of you. For several yrs, he has spoke about retiring but wasnt quiet there yet. But now he seems pretty darn serious about it. June 09 seems to be the date he is set for.

I am hoping to compile some type of momento for him to give from his DIS friends. Many of you probably feel very close to him. He feels like a part of our family. We will be at WL in May and would like to pass this on to him.

So if you have any kind words, or maybe and experience to reshare with him, he would love it. Probably since this thread is so huge, it may be better for you to PM any thoughts to me. Butit would be great to share them here as well. As things come in, I will determine how best to put it all together and try to keep all in the loop on how it is progressing.

I just feel like this is a way for us WL lovers to give back to a man who has dedicated the last 20 or so yrs to us.

What a great idea. You are so sweet to think of it and set it in motion. We haven't stayed at WL but ALWAYS plan a visit during each vacation. He is one special person. Always has a smile on his face and ready and willing to share information and help in any way he can.

Thanks Angel16. We are figuring on compiling everything into a scrapbook, with a pic of WL in the front and we have a really good pic of him standing near the main doors that we will put in the front also. I know there are others out there, so please dont be shy.

I don't know why I am stressing, but oh boy, am I? 7 days to go and I am worried that my room won't face the right way:confused3 , that I won't get to WL in time to go to my first ADR:eek:
I called over a month ago to see if I could switch from courtyard view bunkbeds to courtyard view with just queens. At the time nothing was available and she said maybe some pixie dust would be sent my way:wizard:
I am certainly not banking on an upgrade of any type, but now I am worried that I won't even get courtyard. Part of me says hey! you are staying at WL! BE HAPPY with that! Oh and believe me I am HAPPY about that! Always wanted to stay there and finally, for the big 25th Anniversary, we are staying there! No kids...no unhappy faces...well I still have DH to contend with:rolleyes:
Okay, I am going to go take some deep breaths now....just needed to vent...

I just got back from our amazing WL vacation from Sept 1-Sept 6. I booked a standard view and was given a courtesy upgrade to an amazing courtyard view! We were in room 5165, and I could see the fireworks from our balcony every night as well as the ELP. I also was real close to the geyser erupting and watched the hustle and bustle of the pool every day/evening. I spent countless hours on that balcony and I've only been back a few days and am wishing I was still there. I would highly recommend this room!

We ate at the WCC for both breakfast and lunch and loved both meals. They were delicious, piping hot, and the service was fun and fantastic. It was my favorite place to eat besides Boma.

We did the photoshoot at the WL, and our photographer was wonderful. Her name was Dallas and she did and amazing job. We had almost 100 shots taken, and I loved 98% of them. She did a great job with lighting, keeping my dd3 amused, and she had the patience of a saint. I can't wait to put all my photos into an album. I highly recommend this also. there are so many beautiful spots around the resorts for the photos.

We did craft time from 2:30-4:00 a few days at the Cub's den. The crafts were cute, and it was a nice place to unwind after a long morning at the parks.

One question I had for any of you veterans out there...I asked in the gift shop if they sold a CD of the music played in the lobby and they told me it was copyrighted and they didn't sell the music. Does anyone have anything out there that they have found that sounds similar to this? I would love to sip coffee from my WL mug some rough days and rock in my rocking chair listening to that inspiring music that I am longing to relax to....

There are a number of IMix compilations on Itunes. I used these to download the songs that I wanted and now I can turn on my Ipod and imagine that I am at the Wilderness Lodge anytime that I want.

If you don't have an Ipod I'd be happy to get you a list of songs. I don't know of any individual CD to purchase though.

I found the link that tipped me off to this from the Mousesavers website:

Hello WL Experts!:wizard:

I have to tell you that I am so extremely excited about our stay at the WL! I have not been to Disney since 1984 (I was 4) and my husband has NEVER been!!:scared1: This will be our first real vacation by ourselves since we've been together (8 years, married for 2 1/2). I had to convince my DH to plan this vacation (he doesn't realize the AWESOMENESS of Disney just yet:laughing:) and wavered back and forth about the WL but decided that it would be the perfect fit for the both of us. I've actually wanted to stay there since I saw something on the Travel Channel about back in 1994 or 95 and love ALL things wilderness, camping, nature, wildlife etc...

We booked a Woodsview room because that was the only thing available at the time. What do you guys think of the Woodsview rooms? Is courtyard better? What are the chances of an upgrade? Do they just offer them?

I was just curious....I'm sure everything will be great either way! Thanks for listening and for any advie you guys can give:wizard:

I have the original WL loop and the Christmas WL loops on my iPod, but they are MP3 files, I got them when we use to have a thread (closed because of copywrite worries) that had links to the Disney Loop Music.

Wow, thanks for the link. I just went to Itunes and listened to a few songs and was overwhelmed with emotion. Thanks for the great info, I can close my eyes and pretend I'm still there with my beautiful daughter :)

Was this room a Bunk Bed room? I would like a bunk bed room with view of fireworks.

Just wanted to say congrats! We just got back from our 25th anny trip on Friday at WL and it was wonderful! We had a room with a king bed, "most" of the staff were wonderful (one concierge in particular really ruined a huge part of my experience), use the quiet pool by the villas (nicer, quieter), relax and enjoy. We sure did!

Hey, for our 25th we were upgraded to the Honeymoon suite!! While we didn't get the view we wanted, the suite itself was so nice...at night we had a great view of Wishes from our balcony! At first I was a little upset over the view then that night I heard booms from outside and there was Wishes right there! So you never know~~~~BTY I knew about the upgrade before we got there and actually thought about not accepting it because of the view. I'm really glad I didn't......

mskayjay and ang38 Thanks for easing my anxiety! :flower3: I have dreamed of staying at WL so that in itself is something wonderful! 6 days!!!

We just booked a 1BR at VWL for our February trip. I'm very excited! I'm still trying to figure out how transportation works from here, but this thread has been very helpful.
