Does anyone know if the WL has iPod docks in the room. I read something about them on another thread. How cool is that!!!

I had initally wanted to stay at CR but could not get rooms for the dates I wanted.....maybe this was a blessing in disguise as DH has suggested WL. The more I look at the pics and read about it I am really beginning to like it! I just have a few questions for the experts before I confirm my booking!

Do all the rooms have enclosed balconies? What is the best location to request for a standard room?

Doesn't the MK bus revert to the TTC route after the MK closes?

You know what..I'm not sure. The bus between MK and WL probably runs for an hour or so after MK closes.

Curious...about how long did that take?

Thank you all for replying and offering your tips! I don't know how to quote multiple posts, so this is to everyone that replied...LOL...:thumbsup2

I've done this and I would say it takes close to an hour...maybe more. It's worth it to do once though. Remember that you have to take the boat to CR...then walk from the CR boat dock to the monorail (which is a pretty good walk)...take the monorail to TTC...then transfer to the EPOCT monorail. Beisdes the actual travel time there is a lot of time spent transfering and waiting.

I like trying this route on my way back to WL from EPOCT. When I'm trying to get to a park I just want to get there. I'm much more relaxed on my back to the resort.

Hi there. We are staying at the WL for the first time in December and we are very excited! :yay: I noticed a picture at the bus stop there is a bus that goes to Ticket & Transportation Center. Is this a faster way to get to Epcot if there isn't a bus at the Lodge for Epcot? Seems the TTC is so close it could be an efficient way to hop on the monorail. Has anyone used this option to get to Epcot? TIA!

Faster? Probably not, but at least you get to ride on the Monorail.:thumbsup2

I am getting so excited!
We haven't been there yet and i have a month and a half to go!

It's easy. At the bottom of each person's post you will see the Quote button and right next to that you see the " button (to the right of the quote button). Just click that button for each person you want to quote.:thumbsup2

I'm having an operator error, I think.:rotfl: When I click the quote button, I go to the reply page and I can't get back to more quote buttons? Is there a trick or another step? Thanks!!

OMG...I figured it out!! YAY, thank you:woohoo: I am so excited, I've always wanted to know how to do this, I feel so cool now:cool1:

Excellent suggestion, thanks! I agree, I'd go crazy with all the waiting & walking on that route in the morning!

That's true, I'm going to mix it up and use that route on the way back from Epcot. When we ate at Whispering Canyon last December, we took the boat to MK...the ride was just beautiful in the evening! So I'm thinking it would be perfect on the way back to take the monorail and have that leisure boat ride. Thanks!

Again, thank you all for your suggestions and help. Everyone is so great on this thread. DH & I are so excited to stay at WL this December! Thanks!!

Yes, we had an iHome alarm clock with an iPod doc when we stayed at WL 7/26 thru 7/30.

Hi everyone! I'm new to the thread. I spent my last vacation at the Poly and my husband was so upset that there was no hottub! So I've been looking into the Wilderness Lodge and it sounds great! I've convinced my husband to go back to WDW next spring and we are going to stay at WL! I've read the first few posts and had a question about walking - can you walk ANYWHERE? I've heard you can't walk to MK but can you walk to Contemporary? And is it faster to take the bus or the boat to MK?
I'm sure I'll be asking all you WL experts a lot of questions and I appreciate any help!!

You can walk over to Fort Wilderness, but no other resorts or parks that I am aware of. There is a boat to the contemporaty..It's a quick ride, as long as you haven't just missed the boat leaving the dock.

I've heard the bus is faster to MK, but we prefer the boat...plus it lets you off in a great location right outside the security check. The boats do reverse their loop in the afternoons, so you probably will be better off taking the bus back to MK after an afternoon break, as they sometimes go to Ft. Wilderness first and then MK. (although this seems to change frequently, so check the signs at the boat dock to see how the stops are when you are there.)

The only safe walk would be to the Fort Wilderness Campground. Otherwise you would be walking on busy roads. Never checked to see which is faster, because we ALWAYS take the boat from WL to the MK, unless we go over to the CR first and resort hop our way around on the monorail (we usually go in Dec.).:thumbsup2

So, we just got the room only fall code for our October trip and were able to swing a change to WL Courtyard view.

I know I want inner courtyard, but I'm curious, what's everyone's favorite location in the inner courtyard? Off the lobby? Or on a wing, up high or down low? What's your favorite floor? How many floors are in the lodge?

We once were upgraded to courtyard (2004 I think) but they put us up way high, top floor I think, we were in the roof, on the south side, and we had a cool view of the ELP, but we were way too high and way too far down the hall (end just about) and the balcony was too closed in. Didn't like that much.

I appreciate any advice. Thanks. I'm pretty stoked! :cloud9:

Yep...bus to MK is faster and less crowded then the boat. We always take the bus to MK because of this. When we are going to a park I want to get there as quick as possible.

Coming back to the WL from MK we sometimes take the boat since it is such a nice ride and we are usually not in a rush.

Thank you for the information! My husband and kids really enjoy the boat although I confess that I prefer the quickest method possible to the parks but it is a vacation and when the family is happy, mom is happy too

I didn't know you could walk to Ft. Wilderness though! How long of a walk is it? Or would it be better to take a bus (that is, if there is a bus that stops there on the way to a park or something)?

How exciting!! Are you staying at the Villas too?

Hi!

Just got back to this thread after a busy weekend (BIL got married)

Right now we are planning to stay at the Lodge, but if we get a code or other discoint of some sort we might stay at the villas as we want to buy into DVC in the next 5 years and it would be fun to try them out! :)

I know this question sounds a little crazy, but after a day of walking at MK I would love to spend my down time at the WL in my bedroom slippers. They are actually quite nice looking (we are not talking fuzzy pink slippers here.) But I'm a little embarrased ( just a little bit) I would feel better if I heard that other "mid life women - with two kids - who have just done magic kingdom" also wear their comfy bedroom slippers in the common areas of the WL.
Thanks

Hi Everyone!

We just booked a last-minute trip to WL from Sept 4-8 to celebrate our 1st Anniversary! Reading all of these posts is just making us so excited!!! I've been to WL twice before - but as a teenager and ~8-10 years ago or more....

I have a few questions that I"m hoping some of you can answer :goodvibes

What is the best/quickest way to get from WL to AKL? We have reservations at Sanaa one night....

We're on the DDP and are hoping to use a few snacks towards breakfast. What foods at Roaring Forks count as a Snack credit and would work for breakfast? Muffins, bagels??

We're booked in a Standard-View room now...and are hoping that WL won't be full and we'll have a chance of an upgrade to a Woods or Courtyard view room. My plan is to ask at check-in about a possible upgrade. Does that make sense?

Thanks so much for any info you can offer!!!! 18 days and counting...:yay:

lOl. Regarding the slippers..... I certainly would not venture into Artists Point, not the Territory Lounge or Whispering canyon, but as faras anywhere else, anything goes.. I have even seen folks in their pajamas in Roaring Forks, not that I would do it or advise it. Folks are in Crocs, flip flops, Goofy Hats, etc. i am sure you would use good taste or you would not be asking. By common areas I presume you mean the porch, nooks, etc.?

:confused3 Honestly? If your kiddos aren't embarrassed, why worry? My kiddos would roll their eyes at me, but they aren't going to say boo. :rotfl:

For every sideways glance you get, you are sure to get a smile or two.:)
