I am sorry, I don't know how to search the thread for what I am looking for. I have a Coutyard view BunkBed room booked. We are traveling with my 2 year old and would love if we could see the lagoon/MK/or Fireworks from our Balcony. Also, we plan to take DD back mid-day for a nap so I would like a "quieter room" (not directly over the pool). Can anyone recommend a room or a wing/view I should request? Thanks very much!

There's a link in the very first post with a map of WL room locations. There is no real way to tell which rooms are bunkbed rooms and which aren't, but there are both in all categories.

I think the "nicer" courtyard rooms are inner courtyard, but they all overlook the pool. An upper floor would be quiet (we were even on the 2nd floor and didn't get much pool noise with the door closed.) The quietest location would be outer courtyard, but you'd be overlooking the villas. IMHO, if you are going to get an outer courtyard location, you may as well save some $$ and get woods view.

ETA: I just noticed that you said your 2 yo would love a possible fireworks view...if this is the case, you definately would want woods view.

We're going for our 1st time/trip and this is where we're staying in Oct. It looks so relaxing and beautiful! I bet it is just amazing during the holidays!:goodvibes HAVE FUN!!!:wizard:

You will have a GREAT time in October, but the holiday Decorations are something to experience. We love going when all is decorated for Christmas. That is when it is in full glory, because the theming just suits the holiday with thoughts of a log cabin and fireplace and hot chocolate and carolling and don't forget the huge tree in the center of the lobby!!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 It is AWESOME:cool1:

I got a PIN and a blessing from DH -

I just got off the phone w/ CRO

I booked 4 nights at WL for 12/3 - 7, 1 day passes for $1512 w/ tax and FD (Courtyard View - 2 queen beds) (Is there any benefit to bun beds? are they more $$?) .

I'm really excited about going for Christmas and MVMCP!!!!

I'm a huge National Parks buff and we walked through the Lodge when we stayed at CSR in Feb and I was in AWE. SO EXCITED!!!!!

(I have to ask - this is a good price, right?)

Congratulations, i'm hoping for a deal at that time as well.

Congrats!!!
Sounds like a good deal to me....we usually get multi day passes, but that sounds good.

Yes....bunk beds are more $$
Is it worth it??? With the ages of your kids, I don't know.
For my family....ABSOLUTELY!!! They loved the Bunks on our trip in ) 07 (4and 7 at the time) They looked forward to going to bed each night...no fighting over blankets, etc.
Hope that helps.
Are there bunk beds in any of the Villas at the WL?

I don't think so...I've only actually stayed in the lodge though, never the villas.

I am torn with what room to request. Actually, I'm not really sure I even want to stay at WL. :guilty: I live in Canada. We have LOTS of pine trees. :lmao: To heck with the pine trees... I want to see lots of palm trees!!!!

I don't blame you...maybe the Polynesian would be more of a change for you? I loved the Hawaii-like feel of it. We will probably be staying at the WL for the opposite reason: not that much pine where I live...

See, that's funny because I live in Oregon, where a lot of the WL came from since most of the logs are from here and it's my favorite resort in terms of theming and overall feeling. Oh well... but I also love the Grand Californian at DL so maybe I just like the fimiliarity.

Well I have some good luck and bad luck.

The good luck is that my wife got a 40% off pin code in the mail. unfortunately the WL, contemporary, and Poly are all booked up for this pin code. the good news is that we are going to stay at the Beach club from November 29th to December 6th!

I will miss you Wilderness Lodge.

Next stop on our Disney adventure, The Wilderness lodge.:cool1:

Well, We just got back from WL. You will all be glad to know that WL is doing great. Except for our phone not working for the first 2 days, we had no issues. Mousekeeping was great. We were one of the first rooms cleaned everyday. Transportation was fine. I didn't realize how many times we had to go to GF. Because we were the first stop both times, it wasn't so bad. We loved the boats to MK and Cont. We rode the monorail lots of time.

We never had any trouble finding a table at Roaring Fork. We ate there every morning.

The girls liked the arcade. The photopass shots from the lobby came out great.

Biggest complaint, the hot concrete around the pool. WOW!! :scared1:Take water shoes.

Oh, yeah, the geyser wasn't working at all the entire time we were there. A little disappointed.:sad2:

Overall, a great experience. Thanks for all of the help before the trip.:cloud9:

Can anyone tell me if there is typically anything special to do at the WL on Christmas Eve and/or Christmas Day? We are staying at the WL over Christmas and can't hardly wait! :santa: I'm far worse than my kids - is it December yet?!?!

Thanks for your help!

GREAT NEWS!!!

My sister with a newly released code was able to book four nights at the Wilderness Lodge! My family has always enjoyed visiting the resort and oddly enough never stayed there. We have stayed in at least one hotel at each resort level (though generally moderate) and we cannot wait to possibly stay at the Wilderness Lodge.

This trip isn't 100% confirmed, but when we saw the code and rates we decided to book with the hopes of everything falling into place! I believe the rate she was able to score was $139 and she noted that they said it was a *woods view* .... pretty insane! I have to double check though, but that's what I remember being told.

The first night booked is August 9th, right now we may add a night or two at the Dolphin on the end of the trip.

I've never been ON Christmas, but we were ther in Dec. of 07. They had different things going on in the lobby...Choirs, brass band, etc. I have seen photos on the photo thread of Santa in the lobby too..not sure if this was a one year only thing, or if they do it every year, but just not while we were there. (We were there in early Dec, I'm sure they have more activities the closer you get to Christmas) That being said, in this economy, I'm sure there have been lots of cutbacks, so don't get your heart set on something...be prepared to enjoy sitting in the lobby by the fire and beautiful tree sipping hot chocolate, though!

Just got back about an hour and a half ago - the geyser is working again as of yesterday! :cheer2: All of the kids would rush up to the deck on the hour to watch.

We had a great time - the staff is wonderful there, very nice people from Mousekeeping on up.

Parties around the pool every afternoon - the lifeguards were hosing down the concrete so the kids could keep limboing and hula-hooping.

My wife and kids tend to go to bed earlier than I do, so I had a lot of evening time to myself. I love, love, LOVE all of the nooks and crannies to relax with a book and a snack late at night. Two favorites - on cool, comfortable nights, the deck overlooking the falls, and on hot nights, inside on the 4th floor above the entrance in the lobby.

I'll try to post more when I have time - late, tired, sad, etc. - but I'll finish by repeating how much I love the place. We've talked about trying another resort, but the WL just feels so welcoming and comfortable, I don't know if we'll be able to do it!

Oh, Man, I missed by just a few days. Bummer! I really wanted to see that. :sad1:

I completely agree about the staff. Even the guy who came to fix the phone was so nice. :cloud9:

Glad to here all is well at WL!! Can't wait to go back home in Aug. Please post room number and photos if you can.
Thanks.
