The Wilderness Lodge FAQ (Part 6) Simbas and Tiggers and Humphreys OH MY!

Just two quick questions about the WL's pool. First, does WL have any "quiet" pools or is there just one main pool?

Second, if anyone has been to POR and WL, how does WL's main pool compare? I thought the main pool at POR was really great on my trip back in 2004. It seems like some people complain that WL's pool is pretty small. Do people frequently have trouble getting chairs? Are there any shady zones near the pool?

Oops -- that worked out to more than 2 questions!

There is a quiet pool right next door at the Villas. If I recall correctly there is a small area of shade in one area where the lounge chairs are located. In June it can be difficult to get a lounge chair during the day. Can't offer a comparison but it can get a little crowded at times though it's not unbearable; we've always been able to have fun.

We have stayed at both WL and at POR. Both pools my family really enjoyed (as long as there is a water slide, they won't complain :goodvibes). The WL pool is really pretty because it has the spring that goes right into it. There are a few shaded spots that you can claim to but there are a lot of chairs...at least the times that we are at the pool, but we don't go during the really crowded times either. If you want to see the comparisons of the different pools, you should either go onto allearsnet.com because they have many wonderful pictures of all the resorts and their pools.

Does anyone know if you can order chocolate covered strawberries through room service or another place at the Lodge? Thanks!

The WL pool is smaller, BUT so is the resort itself. I've only gone in December, so I've never seen more than a few people in the pool, and it's never been difficult to get a chair, in th sun or the shade.

I'm pretty sure you can.

I have no personal experience, but I am 99% sure I saw on the boards that these can be ordered by calling Private Dining.

Good luck and let us know if you do it!

Hello all!

As of right now it looks like I'll be staying at the Lodge during my trip next year! Can't wait.. I've heard great things about it!

Thanks for all the info! It's very helpful!

I vote Club Level! :)

We have stayed in a regular room at WL and in a Club Level room. When it came time to book our next trip there was no doubt that we would only wanted to return if it is CL.

We find the CL to be so relaxing. You get to wake up and stroll down the hall for breakfast, eat looking out over the beautiful lobby and then be all happy before you even start the rest of your day. It just made the whole trip that much better.

Looks like we may be going back to WDW this year! We are planning on staying at the WL Dec. 3rd to 8th. It's been since 2005 since we have stayed there. I can't wait!
