wow, I am impressed at the kindness of some people sometimes...I am also impressed that you know 2 1/2 years out that you will be going to WDW. I would be torturing myself if i had a trip planned that far in advance.

Maybe Disney brings out the best in people? And of course, some are just kind. :goodvibes

Don't be impressed by my countdown ;)...it's for my first grand baby's first WDW trip..We, as family, do not take little ones under the age of 4 yrs, but will make an exception for Sophia....she will be just over 3!!! :thumbsup2

Hopefully, I'll be back before 2011..but did need a little break after 2 trips a yr for most of 30 years, took a short time out of about a year. ;)

Happy planning!! :flower3:

we just returned from WL and as far as room locations are concerned, we had a not so great location, but we paid for good old standard view, we ended up having a veiw of the dumpsters/loading area. I was not going to make a big deal about it, yes we booked standard so we got what we paid for. My father on the other hand who was in the room next to ours (and really did not know what standard veiw could mean, called and complained a little and asked if he could be moved. He was told that he could upgrade for over 300.00 more-to this he laughed, and eventually hung up with the person, a little while later he got a phone call telling him that he could move to another room if he liked. He did and he ended up with a view of the pool. We stayed in the same room that we started with, I figured we werent going to be in the room enough so why did it matter? One night my husband had the boys down at the pool and I was in the process of working on school work when I begin to hear all sorts of banging noises coming from outside, I look out the window and I see all sorts of fireworks, coming from the MK! Needless to say I enjoyed the view that night very much!

I do not remember what room we were in.. 6 something, I will check and get back, I do know that my father ended up in 6005 and it was quite a walk from his room to ours :)

What type of room did your friends book?
We went in Dec. 2007 and had a bunkbed room connecting to my in-laws 2 queens room. We had courtyard views, but I believe that all rooms in all categories have a few connecting rooms available, but of course there are no gurantees. I'd keep the Bunk Beds...my kids LOVED them. I'd rather have that than connecting if I had to pick...and you could switch to 2 Queens and STILL not get connecting rooms, so I'd book the type of room you want and make requests in the order of preference from there. HAVE FUN!!!

Piglets Mommy - Thanks so much for the info. They booked a woods view dbl. We know the connecting is just a request but it would be nice. So that we could let all the kids fall asleep together and we could have the other room for some adult conversation and drinks.;)

Thought I'd bump this thread up. :rolleyes1

We're planning our December trip....(I know, I know) and I've been reading the first several pages of this thread and still not sure what the answer is. Can someone tell me what the view is with the "Bear rooms" (inner courtyard view by the lobby?) Is it a view of MK/bay lake?

I love the idea of being able to look down on the lobby and see all the Christmas decorations, my DD would love it!

They are on the club level floor. 2 face the woods with a view of trees, a loading dock BUT Wishes every night. The other 2 are supposed to face the pool. We were upgraded last May and at first I was very upset about our non view. You walked out and all you saw were roof tops, trees and then the dock when you looked down. It was very private though and you could even keep your curtains open. That night around 10 I heard theses load booms. At first it scared the heck out of me :scared1: then the brain kicked in and I ran outside for a beautiful view of Wishes. That made the room bearable. That and we were only staying in it for 3 nights!! I would ask for the room facing the pool if your stay is longer unless you really don't care what you look at during the day...

Does anyone know where the honeymoon rooms are located on the CL?:)

Thank you Ang38. Another question, though. Did you have standard view or inner courtyard? At the beginning of this thread, the OP refers to standard view rooms off the lobby, but then later on refers to inner courtyard view rooms off the lobby. And their seem to be a lot more choices than what you described. I'm so confused.

When looking head on at the courtyard of the WL, the Bear Face Rooms are straight ahead, at the bottom of the "U" if you will. The door opens out to the lobby with the balcony above the stream that leads into the pool. The view looks straight to bay lake, with views of the steam, water fall, pool in between. Remember, room requests are certainly not guaranteed. Good Luck!:wizard:

I just booked my first trip to WL in October:banana: I'm excited.

I really do not know a lot about the resort and will start my reading, but we booked a woods view. Is that far from the food court area, does anyone know? We are all about the food:)

Thank you CuteAsMinnie - I just realized that the pp was responding to someone else, not me.

I made my reservation through AAA for the discount. I'm wondering if I will have less of a chance getting what I want because of that. :guilty:

We're going back to The Lodge this next trip (Sept. 09) and I've heard that they have a lot more activities at the pool & the beach. Could someone list some of them for me to give me an idea? I have seen pictures of duck races, but what else? Do they do movies on the beach like at BC? Smores?

Thanks in advance! I really just wanted to post in the Lodge thread again to help me get jazzed up again about planning! :wizard:

"Is there a Wall Safe located in the rooms?

The rooms do have a small Key-operated safe in the closet to store valuables. It's big enough for your plane tickets, cash/travelers checks and maybe some jewelry, but not much more. For storing larger valuables inquire at the front."

Is this still the case? I really don't like the idea of a key operated safe. I like those touch pad ones like at the Poly or CR. Does anyone know if it's still key operated? and is still small? The poly and Cr's are nice bigger ones.
