OMG, how cool is that activities sheet??? Can someone who is going in early July please post a pic of their sheet when they get back?? The movie on the beach sounds so fun...I wonder what they will be showing in July!!!

has anyone been to the pool party?? Do people really dance??

Yes, they really do! When we were there in October we watched from our balcony and they had approximately 20-25 kids. Even some of the adults were joining in. They have a DJ come out with a sound system and play some great music for everyone.

They have contests also, like hula hoops, and the cake walk (magical chairs without the chairs). They were giving out some great prizes too!! I think the prizes were games, dvd's and such!!

It does get very loud, but the kids were having a blast.

It states on the bottom of the first page of the recreational activities on the left hand side something about evening portraits. It says that they will take a portrait of your family by the silver spring creek in the lobby.

Has anyone done this?

One picture is all I really need and would be willing to purchase one from the photopass place. It would be a lot better than paying out that much for a session with the photopass people.

Thanks for your help.

We've done it at other resorts but not at WL. We were able to put the pics on our PhotoPass cards since we had pre-purchased the CD. I believe most, if not all, deluxe resorts (haven't ever been inside a mod or value) have a PhotoPass counter where you can purchase individual pics.

that sounds great!! thanks for the info! :cool1:

What do they show the movies on down by the beach? Do they have a projector and screen setup or something? How large is the screen?

/
I don't believe that they show movies directly at the lodge. I know they show them at the nearby Ft. Wilderness campground (accessible by walking path or boat). The movies at the fort are great. They are shown on a fairly large screen after a sing-a-long with Chip and Dale. You can roast marshmallows as well. The current (April) movie schedule is on the boards here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2136471

The only other Disney resort that I know shows movies is the Yacht/Beach Club on the beach. Their screen is much smaller though.

Hope that helps!:happytv:

I'm glad they are showing movies on the beach now...that sounds like a great wau to let the kids unwind without going straight to the room. Of course....It will probably be mighty cold sittong out there in December, but I'm crossing my fingers we get lucky witht he weather when we are there!

Does anyone know when Ranger Stan is officially retiring? I have heard in July and September. We are old friends and I would love to see him again in September during our visit.

We were booked at CBR under the 4/3 deal for May 9 - 16, 2009. I just called this morning and upgraded to WL bunk bed woods view!!!!! I am so excited. DH and I get a queen bed and DD gets the bunk! No full size bed for me!

I just upgraded our room from ASMo to WL for the last 2 nights of our September trip and I am so excited. I'm a WL (and Deluxe Resort!) newbie and I can't wait to see it in person because the pictures look gorgeous. The best part is, it's a surprise for the DBf. He still thinks we're staying at ASMo!

so sorry if this has been asked before...

Do they really do massages at sturdy branches? I know this is not a spa resort but I assume they must have a massage room in there if they offer this. Are there robes? Are there different specialty massages? Can we book in advance and who should I call? Thank you so much. This thread is invaluable!:worship:

Hi there,

The following was copied from Post #3 on the first page of this thread! The messages given at Sturdy Branches are great!! And actually cost a little less than if you went to Saratoga Springs or Grand Floridian. And they are so convenient. Never had a bad one at The Lodge. See the phone number is at the bottom. I usually call around one or two weeks before. They will ask for a credit card to hold your reservation.
